I agree- my guess is he was into some nasty sh** in Thailand, and knew it was only a matter of time before the authorities (or worse) caught up with him there. Confessing to such a notorious crime (which he knew he couldn't be convicted for) was a great way to get a free trip back to the states. And apparently the child porn charges against him here are only misdemeanors!

Do your cats fight over the window sills? Mine do! Even if there's one for each of them, they all seem to want to sit in the same one! About the kitty vicodins- I was surprised when they sent me home with a few, and I don't remember if she really needed them or not. I might have given her one the first day, but I know she was back to her normal feisty self in no time.

Last time I had a female kitten spayed, they did send me home with a few painkillers for her. (And they kept her overnight, so if she did barf or spend the night howling in pain, I didn't know about it.) No weird cone or anything. And she was completely back to normal in a day or two. I think I needed to bring her back to remove the stitches or check the incision about a week later. My male cats I've always picked up the same day, sometimes still a little groggy from the anesthesia, but totally back to normal by the following morning. No pain meds needed.

Honesty is selective around here!

I guess its hard to be the "safety bytch" when your friends are involved. Let's be honest here- if it were anyone else you would be among the first to say exactly what Clay said and a whole lot more! I wasn't there and I didn't see what happened, but a no flare landing after a conservative flat turn usually won't leave you on a ventilator with several broken bones. The kind of canopy flying that earned Keith his nickname would, and people ARE going to speculate and make assumptions, especially since no real information about the accident has been posted. My best to Keith for his ongoing recovery, and my love to T- she's got a HUGE heart and he's lucky to have her at his side.

Just remeber what an arrogant creep JD Fortune was all last season. INXS still picked him- go figure. Dilana seems to walk on water- her last few performances haven't been all that if you ask me- she's been playing it very safe, but they don't call her on it. They just keep drooling all over her, so I wouldn't be surprised if she walked away with it all. And I guess its just me, but I have a hard time remembering any of the guys' performances from week to week with the exception of Magni, who might be too good for those guys. Is it Ryan who is just plain creepy looking with the spiked hair and eyeliner- kind of like Eddie Munster on crack? And which one butchered Layla? He should have been sent home on the spot!

Regarding Soft Paws- never tried them, but it seems to me it would just as much or MORE trouble putting them on my feisty small cat as it it to trim her nails. My boys never put up much of a fight when I clip their nails!

I think most people make the decision to declaw when the cats are still kittens and kittens can be very destructive with their claws. The thing is, its something most cats outgrow, especially when you provide them with something they can scratch on. Think about it- puppies can be equally destructive with their chewing, but who considers de-toothing their puppies? That would be cruel, right? And puppies aren't expected to chew up everything in sight forever, right? So you give them chew toys and hope they chew on those instead of your shoes or the brand new sofa, right? Its really the same thing with kittens and their claws. A little patience, some training and providing the kitty with toys she can scratch up work wonders. Besides, if you're worried about the cat being too agressive with the dog, a lot of declawed cats get MORE agressive and become biters because you've taken away their first line of defense.

You may or may not be an asshole, but it sure sounds like your roommates are trying to bully you. They've made it clear the new furniture is theirs, so how on earth can they expect you to pay for it? Are the three of you renting the house or did they buy it? If they bought it, you're helping THEM make their mortgage payment and build equity- paying one third really isn't fair if that's the case, since, like the furniture, if you move out, you get nothing. As long as you've got a decent income, why not get your own place? You can probably find a decent place for less than what your paying for a tiny room in a house with jerks for roomates.

Does anyone know if he's been brought back to the US yet? It occurs to me that his confession might have been a way to ensure he'd get sent back here, because he'd prefer to deal with the US legal system than the one in Thailand. Didn't he leave this country to avoid child pornography charges?

Actually, I don't think its an "American" thing at all. People from a lot of different cultures/ countries eat with their hands and some kind of bread (or tortilla).

I think it is good for them, and my guys LOVE to eat grass. Of course, then they hack it all up, but I think that's supposedly good for them too. When I lived in an apartment, I would buy the cat grass, and my cats loved that too. Unfortunately, now they think all house plants are meant for them to eat! Needless to say, I no longer even attempt to keep plants in my house! I have no idea about dogs and grass, though! I haven't had a dog in a really long time!

I let my cats out in the yard and they eat grass- then they wait until they are back inside and puke it all up! That's one thing I'll never understand about cats- they are very picky about where they pee or shit, but they'll hack anywhere- usually in the center of a doorway or on the steps where I'm sure to walk in it barefoot!

As the mother of 4, you are entitled to all the "Calgon Moments" you can steal- even if they don't involve soaking in a tub!

Have you ever bought anything from an infomercial?
tigra replied to jumpjunkie2004's topic in The Bonfire
I saw that one! Some special type of ionic hot rollers or something! Too funny! -
None for me too. I've never really understood the whole concept of reading while I'm on the toilet. If I'm there long enough to read an article, then something's probably not right and I doubt I'd be in the mood to read!

The SO bought an abdominal machine- it makes a great clothes rack! -
Five "accuracy" landings for A license?? Stand ups only?
tigra replied to DougH's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
"Within 20 meters" isn't exactly accuracy- its essentially landing on the DZ within your designated landing area. Don't worry about hitting the peas for your A license. -
That's why you are supposed to save any leftover vicodins and stuff when you get them!

I've had the same dentist practically since I had teeth, so I don't find it odd. He watched me grow up and knows my whole family. We talk about all sorts of things before he starts working on me. (Of course, once he is actually working in my teeth, all I can do is grunt or nod.) I'm going to be really sad when he retires and I have to find a new dentist!

Is it just me, or does anyone else find the show kid of creepy? Dave Navarro looks more like Dracula every day, and that's appropriate since the show is about some aging has been rockstars trying to recreate their glory years with new, young talent. I kind of felt that way last year, but I didn't find the guys from INXS as creepy as these guys. Of course, the show is still a better alternative than "The One" or "America's Got Talent"- both of which leave me wondering if there is any talent left in this country!

He's adorable. I've got a Spike, but I'm sure he wouldn't mind sharing the name with another kittie! Funny though- it seems like every time I had him at the vet when he was younger, there was already another Spike checked in. He was the only cat though, all the other Spikes were dogs.

Was it Versed? I've had that for at least two of my ankle surgeries, and from what I hear, its really pretty common. I was technically "awake" during the surgeries, but remember very little of what went on. I thought that was preferable to the general anesthesia. And really, if you are that afraid of the dentist and you really need the dental work done, I say go with whatever works.

I've worked for one of those before- the circumstances you are describing are all too familiar. Senior management was well aware of all the issues surrounding her and did absolutely nothing. They were more afraid of a lawsuit from her (even though it would have been extremely easy to document cause for termination) than they were from any of the employees she harrassed (who they knew weren't the "type" to sue). Personally, I found it much easier to quit and get a new job than deal with the constant abuse.

When I was in college, the local Red Cross called me whenever there was a shortage of my blood type. I loved it- felt like they were giving me celebrity treatment. They would pick me up at my dorm, feed me and take me back when I was done. Where's the bad?
