Wow! I was hoping for a close game just to keep the Bears humble and focused going into next week, but this game was a little too close! The defense really came through at the end!

Disclaimer: I'm not a lawyer and don't know much about Virginia RE law but.................. Generally, a lease is considered an outstanding interest in the property and the new buyer purchases "subject to" that lease. The lease is assigned to the new owner, and the new owner collects the rents but is also bound by the terms of the lease, same as your original landlord. Aside from where you are sending the payments, the terms of the lease should not change. Don't count on the new owners renewing the lease, but you should have at least until the end of the lease before they can legally ask you to leave or jack up your rent so high that you can't afford to stay.

Look into becoming a "mold inspector". Near as I can tell, the one I used was paid $350.00 to confirm the home inspector's opinion that there was clearly visible mold growing on the attic walls, without assessing the type of mold or how to treat it. ("Yup, looks like mold to me.") He then called a "mold remediation" company to do a more detailed assessment and bid on the job. Apparently in my area, you can't just call a mold remediation company directly and say, "I've got a mold problem, can you take a look and see what needs to be done?" They won't come out and look unless the special "mold inspector" goes to the home first.

The one I used as a buyer prevented me from buying one place because of structural concerns, and discovered a mold problem in the attic of the house I ended up buying. I think its fair to say he saved me a lot of grief and money. Plus, this is my first home and I'll admit to being a moron when it comes to all the little things involved with owning a home- plumbing, electricity, gutters, etc. He made a real effort to walk me around the house and show me stuff. My sellers on the other hand were not too thrilled with the guy! The first guy was pissed that I backed out of the deal and wanted to know why. He didn't understand that if we told him why, he'd have to tell everyone else who looked at the house! Treating the mold in the attic of the house I bought cost my sellers over $3000.00 and that was less than half the bid from the first company!

My roommate freshman year in college was one of those girls who did virtually everything except actual intercourse and proudly called herself a virgin. Oral is sex- its actually way more intimate than intercourse, isn't it?

I don't like her either, and that Kelly Ripa thing was beyond stupid BUTTTTTT stirring up controversy is pretty much what she gets paid to do on the View. From what I hear, the ratings have only gone up since she joined the show. The Donald on the other hand is a public figure and very often the target/ subject of jokes. He only seems to retaliate against women no matter how many men make fun of him! This current "feud" is all about drumming up ratings for the new season of The Apprentice- the show had one good season and has been going downhill ever since. He's run out of women to blame when the show finally tanks once and for all unless he decides to go after his daughter, so he's trying to get more publicity this way!

skydive ixtapa dysfuction boogie 2007
tigra replied to skydiveixtapa's topic in Events & Places to Jump
I think you might be thinking of Puerto Escondido. I've made a few trips to Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo and I've yet to see a surfer. The jumping is good though! Dirt dive by the pool, enjoy amazing views in the air, land on a nice long stretch of beach and post dive IN the pool! Very cool! -
I'm leaning towards a Bears win. I hope its a close enough game that the Bears don't get too cocky and screw up the next one!

My prediction? If the local media starts calling Grossman "Sexy Rexy" this week, or if he refers to himself that way (like he did the week before New Years) then he'll choke big time and unless special teams and the defense can step up, the Bears will lose. Its a trend I've noticed since the Arizona game. There's nothing sexy about throwing interceptions! Its weird- he needs a certain amount of confidence to be effective, but when he starts believing his press releases, he falls apart.

IIRC- she did daily reports during the 98 record camp, in additon to several features in the weeks/ months before the record. And of course, she was a part of the 246 way record.

The idea is that the pockets won't get stretched out or ripped while they are in the store being handled by dozens of people. They generally aren't meant to remain that way- once you take them home, they should be easy to open up. And I think they do the same thing to men's suits, jackets and dress slacks.

The last time I went, it was something like $17.20 per day, with $15.00 of that being the actual jury duty "pay" and the remaining $2.20 was considered a "transportation allowance." I think it was even broken down that way on the check stub. I worked for a small company at the time, and although they did pay me for the day, they expected me to sign over my $17.20 check. I was appalled that they would even ask- it was only a little more than my hourly wage! I thought they were being ridiculous and petty, so I decided to be the same way and insisted that they were only entitled to $15.00, and I expected $2.20 back. (It was the principle, not the money. I got mileage when I had to drive around for work, so why not jury duty?) Well, no one had ever challenged their policy before- just signed their little checks over like sheep! They were stunned, but ended up "letting" me keep the whole check! They were probably afraid I would report them! lol (Looking back, I'm not sure their book keeping or HR policies could have withstood much scrutiny. How they managed to avoid lawsuits is beyond me!) That was several years ago, and I never even made it into a courtroom. I spent the day in a large room reading and watching TV. Now when you are called, I think you're expected to be available on standby for up to a week, longer if you are actually picked for a jury. And I have no idea what the daily "pay" is any more!

OK, first- matches??? They had to know the tie breaker would be fire and they had all afternoon to practice! And even WITH the matches, it still took her about 30 minutes! If I were Sundra, I would have asked Jeff if it was OK to try the flint again when she ran out of matches.

Becky couldn't light a damn fire! She didn't deserve any votes!

I'm pretty sure its $100,000.00 for the runner up- and as someone else said, they all get something depending on how long they are on the show- that is probably straight Actors' Union Scale, though, which can't be a whole lot. Ozzy kicked ass in the challenges, but really, he rode Yul's coat tails, same as Becky and Sundra. They all let Yul take the heat for being the "godfather" of the tribe, and that could have easily worked against him. The only reason it didn't is that Yul acted with integrity throughout the whole thing. Its hard to be pissed off about being outwitted, outsmarted and outlasted by a genuinely decent hardworking guy-especially when you were the one napping in the shelter all day long waiting for someone else to catch, gut and cook your fish for you! How long do you think it will be before Pavarti poses for playboy?

Possible repercussions could include screwing up your insurance coverage. I totally understand the instinct, though. I never did it, but I remember at one point, the itching/burning sensation was so bad that if I had the tools handy, I probably would have! Seriously, if the cast is driving you crazy because its too tight or pinching a nerve, call your doctor and tell him, and if he doesn't take you seriously, keep calling until he does. And if it gets really bad, go to the ER and make THEM cut it off- especially if it is too tight and your leg is swelling.

Hey- I *think* the area code is 815......... Maybe we can meet up later..............????? Tell her happy b-day from me and the ape!

Can you believe that 26 years ago John Lennon died on this date??!
tigra replied to SkydiveStMarys's topic in The Bonfire
IIRC- Julian was a teenager and Sean was a toddler when John Lennon dies. Julian Lennon has released a couple of cds- he looks and sounds very much like his father. -

Wow, he's been dead 26 years, and the Beatles have been broken up for how long? But we're still bashing Yoko! What I remember is that John Lennon was killed at a time in his life when he seemed to have finally found some peace and happiness. He was off drugs, working, had a successful new album and was very happy with his wife and young son. His album Double Fantasy was all about the "new start" he had in life, and whether you like her or not, Yoko gets a lot of credit for that. He was a man who always had a dark and self destructive side to him, but he seemed to have conquered some of those demons shortly before he died. John Lennon a doormat? Wow! That's funny! You know, I'm sure Cynthia Lennon's book is interesting, but when you come right down to it, is it really much more than the memoirs of a bitter ex wife? -

I was 18, home from college on winter break and working 2 jobs. My dad told me when he picked me up from my 2nd job. I remember hearing Imagine on the radio the next day and getting chills. Funny thing is, I still do. I can't believe its been 26 years! -
Its not my favorite, but as long as its still fresh, it can be pretty good. Costco makes a good one. My mom loves the stuff so we always have at least one around the holidays.

You forgot the one about the lepers' poker game! It ended early because someone threw his hand in!

It took me over 2.5 hours to get to work this morning. The same storm system crashed our corporate server yesterday and I came in today to find only 3 people on my team made it in. Basically, I've had to do 2 days worth of work for two people all in one day. It hasn't been a good day, and its not over yet! I think I'm going to adopt a kid so I can have "snow days" too! Oh, and my Beetle handled just fine in the snow, its just all the other idiots on the road that were in my way!

But Peter doesn't keep the powers, does he? He can't fly unless he's with his brother, he only did the painting thing when he was near the other guy, and regenerated because he was near the cheerleader. I actually thought the episode DID answer a lot of questions- but maybe that's because I wasn't paying enough attention in the earlier episodes. Hey, if Sylar somehow gets his powers from the brains of the "heroes" he kills, do you think he got Charlie's blood clot, too? THAT would be interesting!

OK- I meant FELINES, since they live indoors and among other things, the house could get pretty smelly if they weren't! I actually prefer my MEN to be UN-neutered!
