  1. I've only seen the first episode so far-I don't disagree about his attitude, but I was more disgusted by his gut and the fact that his jeans kept slipping lower and lower ....... That is not something I would want to wake up to every morning! If I was on his tribe, I would vote him off for that!
  2. Hanging in there. Its been a bad week eating wise (blame the hormones) but I've worked out every day. I haven't lost any weight this week, but I don't think I've really gained any either- maybe a pound?? Considering the way I've been eating all week, one pound isn't bad at all! I ran out of personal training sessions and I'm trying to work more into the budget. I've seen good results already in the short time I've been working with him and I want to keep that going. He's shown me a lot of things I can do on my own, but workouts with him help to keep me on track! Oh, and I did have to buy some new clothes for the fall and do some long overdue closet cleaning.
  3. Speaking of the poker player, I'm not sure I can watch another season of people in their underwear. The grave digger in his bvds is one thing, but that guy? YUK! We're going to be seeing a lot of blurred butt cracks and nipples! I sure hope one of the reward challenges involves clothing for both teams!

    Wild Hogs

I was suprised at how much I laughed at that movie. I went just to "humor" my SO and really enjoyed it. Then again, I think I am one of 5 people on the planet who thought Ishtar was funny.
  5. ding ding ding ding ding...... Isn't that really what the fuss is all about? Where is the precedent for charging these kids as adults with attempted murder?
  6. Didn't you give us this spoiler last year?
  7. I've never seen anyone make a quilt out of their old skydiving tees but I did see someone make a kind of banner out of her late husband's tees- she had it on display at his memorial service. Cool idea and I have a ton of skydiving tees. Too bad I can't sew!
  8. He's dumb as a box of hammers, not to mention delusional, paranoid and just plain crazy. I wouldn't even be a little bit surprised if the families of his victims got together and helped set him up- wasn't there an ex FBI agent involved in this whole mess? And didn't he claim he was part of a "sting operation" to retrieve stolen sports memorabilia? Lets just hope the Vegas police department doesn't screw up as badly as the LA police did! There are enough charges against him to put him away for life if he's convicted.

    Fart foods?

I'll have to ask my mother. When she and my father were still married, he was cheating and she knew about it. She still put dinner on the table for the family every night, but on his "Choir" nights (he met his mistress at church choir practice) she'd feed him stuff like polish sausage and cabbage. He was a big drinker too, and the combination made him offensive at both ends! The "mistress" was desperate enough to marry him after he divorced my mom anyway- no accounting for taste, I guess!
  10. I never understood a single word he said
  11. I had a kitty who was also a terror at the vets- he would get so stressed out at the vets that they couldn't get accurate blood work-(apparently the stress can elevate the white count or something.) He had problems with the anesthesia when I had him in for a routine teeth cleaning because he struggled so much. Whatever they had to do made it take twice as long for him to wake up after the procedure- I remember calling every hour to check on him and not getting a straight answer the first few times! He was also a pretty small cat, really cute and very sweet with me- he'd sit quietly on my lap purring like the sweetest kitty in the whole world! (and to me, he was!) The howls, hisses and swats always took people by surprise. He was never a biter mostly because he had all his claws- he'd give one warning swat without them extended, but the next time, claws would be out! I remember after the teeth cleaning having to pick him up after hours, and the techs had to ask me to come back and get him out of the cage- he had plastered himself into the far back corner and was hissing and growling like a much larger animal than he was! As soon as he saw me, he calmed down and came right out. I loved that cat- he's been gone over 10 years now and I still miss him sometimes! I hope YOUR terror is doing well. I'm sure he's happy to be home!
  12. Its both and it happens everywhere. My personal pet peeve is people who never bothered to learn how to change the toner cartridge on the printer, especially when I worked in an office where we shared printers- now I have my own! Leaving the copier with a paper jam and walking to another machine is yet another pet peeve. (Sad that after so many years in the industry, one of my most valued job skills is my ability to clear a paper jam on a copier! )
  13. My only comment here is that a real friend (or mother, sister, etc.) would be there for you when it fell apart and wouldn't make you feel stupid or say "I told you so!" even if she (or he) did indeed tell you so! I hope you have someone like that in your life- we all should.
  14. In my opinion, there is plenty of blame to be shared over the current mortgage industry "crisis", and the government has a pretty large chunk of it. This isn't new, its been building for a long time. Plus, we've already seen the ripple/ domino effect that started with the subprime market so yes, something needs to be done to stop the bleeding. The whole country will be affected otherwise. Unfortunately, the problem with most "bailouts" is that nothing is done to make sure a future bailout won't be necessary. The industry will be back in the same boat 5-10 years from now if there isn't some major restructuring.
  15. Its not so much popular- all these "events" just seem to happen at the same time on weekends when I actually might otherwise be able to make some jumps! Its a conspiracy or something! Between my whuffo family and the SO's, its a wonder I've made any jumps at all this year!
  16. I've lost about 2. I'm seeing and feeling a difference since I started doing more strength training and a little less cardio. I signed up for more personal training sessions but I haven't been able to work out with my trainer for over 2 weeks. I'm doing OK on my own, though! This weekend will be a challenge- it will be tough to squeeze in a workout, plus I've got at least 2 parties/ barbecues to go to and DZ time, which means beer! And Jaye- quit skipping breakfast! That's the most important meal of the day!
  17. Like I said, "real" or "plastic"- to me, that's more attitude than anything else. Now "projected persona"? Well, I guess that is what I might consider "plastic". But not wearing makeup or putting an effort into your appearance. I'm still stunned by the OP- I just have never heard of "real" as another word for "fat". "Healthy" I have heard of as a nicer term for plump or heavy, but not "real".
  18. I have never heard or thought that the term meant "overweight"- since when is this the case? "Real" to me means just that-not fake or plastic, and that doesn't have to be physical- I think its more attitude than anything else. Great- now if I ever hear anyone say that about me, I'll just assume I've been insulted instead of complimented. thanks so much!
  19. I had a cat on daily heart medicine for years and I tried everything. He only needed 1/4 of a tiny pill to begin with, but as hard as that was to give hime twice a day, I think using the liquid and the small syringe is even harder. And orange flavored??? I feel your pain! And for those of you suggesting hiding a pill in cheese or some other food, this is a cat, not a dog! They are not as easily fooled- my cat probably tricked me way more times than I got him! If I left the pill piece whole and put it in something he liked, he had no problems eating around it- bowl empty except for the medicine! If I crushed it in his food, he caught on quick and wouldn't eat it all, leaving me wondering if he got enough, and nervous that one of my other cats would get it by mistake. I finally resorted to straddling him from behind (practically sitting on him), prying his mouth open, shoving the pill in his mouth and massaging his throat until he swallowed. But even then, when I was positive we had been successful, there were plenty of times when I would find a dried up piece of pill in the corner somewhere an hour or a even a day later....... Most of the time, he still got his medicine though! Medicating cats is an artform!
  20. I know the late workouts are part of the problem, but for now, that's when I can fit them in. I think the benefits outweigh the drawbacks even if my sleep is affected. I've had a gym membership for years now, but regularly using it is a relatively new thing for me! Still, ideally I'd like to split my workouts- do cardio in the morning 3-4 times a week and strength train in the evenings.
  21. I hear you. I think part of my problem is I've been working out at night after work. I don't get home until 9:00ish, and then I have things to do at home. Sometimes I feel like I've got an endorphin rush going from the cardio, and if I did any strength training I'm beat but still restless. Plus there is job stress and life stress and the bottom line is I just don't seem to sleep well. It feels like just when I'm drifting off to a nice comfy sleep, its time to get up again! One solution would be to do my cardio in the morning, but I'm not much of a morning person to begin with and if I didn't get a good night's sleep, dragging myself to the gym at 5:30 the next day is near impossible! I've got some OTC sleep aids, but those work a little too well- I need to plan ahead and go to bed really early or I can't get up the next day. Sometimes I use those just to catch up on my sleep over the weekend. sigh.... Just adding this- I talked to a lady in my cardio class earlier this week. Her doctor has her on Ambien- one night last week she was sleep walking naked and making herself cocktails and drinking them! Her kids told her about it! My restless sleep doesn't sound all that bad in comparison!
  22. Well, you could always forward it to your IT person and report her for spamming! Seriously though, a person I always considered a very good friend stopped speaking to me when I told her exactly how I felt about a forwarded email she sent me which I considered to be in the 2nd category. It was not only BS but I found it really offensive and racist and I was shocked that she would send me something like that. She was highly offended that I was offended. Now, I just go with the ignore, delete and keep my mouth shut option.
