It was obvious. There have been seasons where her behaviour was of more interest than the performances, but still she and the show denied it and flat out lied over and over again. The fact that she has finally admitted to it doesn't take away all the years of lying and denial. Kind of pathetic all around, really. You are right about one thing- they are throwing Kris under the bus. He'll be the also ran runner up to Adam in the final.

They do that every single year on this show. The winner was picked a long time ago, even the exit order. The votes really don't matter, its all a scam. But, I just read that Paula has FINALLY admitted that certain pain medications have affected her behaviour on the show, something she's been flat out denying for years now, as recently as a few weeks ago claiming she's never been drunk and never took pain meds on the show. Did someone finally show her some video of her falling over in her seat, slurring her words and making absolutely no sense? There's a lot to choose from.

No you tube or clickys here, but the song "Oh Heavenly Day" by Patty Griffin qualifies for sure. Also, "My Hallelujah Song" by Julianne Hough. Just makes you feel good.

Skydiving Tattoo. When should a person be allowed to have one?
tigra replied to Pegandmeg's topic in The Bonfire
That's HILARIOUS! 250 jumps and a "B" and he's the self appointed skydiving tattoo police? I realize when you've got 30 jumps, 250 seems like an awful lot. The thing is, when most of us hit that 250, we realized it wasn't that many after all and we still had a whole lot to learn. Sounds like Mr. Tat Police hasn't quite figured that out yet. -
Yeah, I personally can't stand it when people rub their bums or legs in my face without an invitation.

I would just start with the obvious- it will only work if you actually do it. Of all the many weight loss infommercials out there, this might be the only one I have seen that does not promise amazing results with almost no effort. It looks like a pretty good all around workout program. That being said, I personally tend to do better working out at a gym. I have a lot of dvds and some equipment at home that is rarely used.

So you are a slut down under eh? Only according to a 20 something dateless wonder who used to post here pretty often. Thing is- I don't think he could get laid even by the chicks with tattoos!
-
Well someone once posted here that girls with tattoos were more likely to put out. Of course, he also used to always whine about how he could never get a girl to go out with him. Go figure......... I've only got 2 so I guess my self esteem is OK but according to some dateless guy in Australia, I might be a slut.

I think we should be more concerned that you know what ass tastes like... OK, I just saw the movie "Knocked Up" over the weekend, but this reminds me of the whole pink eye conversation ...............
-
I've got to go with the general concensus here- 1) HTF do you know what ASS tastes like? (and do you really want everyone to know that you do?) 2) Eyedrops are supposed to go in your EYES, not your mouth!

Definitely a bad combination. Luckily, the person wasn't in great shape and couldn't handle more than 5 or 10 minutes at the elliptical so I didn't have to suffer long! And hey, I know when I cook, I use a lot of garlic, but I don't think I eat so much of it that it literally comes out of my pores, you know? Sure, its a gym and we're all working hard and sweating, but some people just seem to stink more than others!
-
I was on the elliptical the other day next to someone who obviously ate a lot of curry. BO, sweat and curry is a nasty combo!

Probably not much if people continue to label it as "gay marriage" instead of "marriage." If you meant "marriage", then Bill Von's post pretty much covers it.

What do you mean by "something that could never be said"? People say it all the time- you just did. Roger was larger than life in so many way - it really is difficult to separate the folklore from reality sometimes, and it was when he was alive too. I think he liked it that way. I can tell you SDC was primarily built BY skydivers, many of them working for jumps instead of money. Roger was big on the barter system and he could always find people willing to trade labor or other goods/services for jumps.

Same songs, different show. Cool though, I like it.

My understanding with the high deductable policies is that there is normally a maximum out of pocket expense- they cover 80 to 100% after you meet that. Next time I am out of work, instead of trying to keep Conbra coverage until I am employed again (major ripoff last time........), I am going with one of those. -
Are you sure your temp job doesn't have any potential for full time? If nothing else, if this client is happy enough with your work to extend your assignment, the agency will know they can place you next time. If they can keep you working steadily, do you want to burn that bridge for a part time job that doesn't pay as well? I used to work for temp agencies back in the day- both as a student and as a recent grad. I was offered full time positions more than once. Some places I wasn't interested in at all after temping for a few days. I've also worked for companies who regularly use temps and offer either longer term work or full time positions to the better ones. If you've ever been in a position to have to interview and hire people, you would know how tough it is to find decent help. (Seriously- I could write sit com about my experiences managing a small office and some of the "help" that I had, but when I was living it, it wasn't all that funny!) When a temp shows up on time, properly dressed and ready to work, its a refreshing change of pace. If the temp turns out to be competent and reasonably intelligent on top of it, a lot of employers will make offers.

Animals can't tell you what hurts and often just deal with pain and discomfort without really showing any signs. People CAN tell a doctor what hurts, but we are not always honest with our doctors. We don't tell them how much alcohol we drink, or if take drugs- legal or otherwise. We don't tell them we smoke. We don't tell them when we binge on pizza and birthday cake, or that we never eat veggies. We tell them we eat right, take vitamins and exercise regularly even when we don't. We don't want them passing judgment on our lifestyles and therefore, we don't give them all the information they need to make an accurate diagnosis.

Blue- I work with legal documents all day. It is much easier to tell the originals from the copies and blue ink copies and scans just as well as black.

I know at least one person who found himself in almost that exact same situation. He didn't find out until he was lying in his very expensive hospital bed that the insurance policy he thought he was covered under had a "dangerous sports" exclusion. -

That's about it. Right or wrong, I figured if they did ANY kind of research at all, they could have easily found out what happened. Why should I do their job for them? -

Not everyone "needs" to have their hardware removed and PT is more beneficial to some people than it is to others. I was just pointing out that without insurance, whether you are paying out of pocket or the hospital and doctors are just writing it off, most people won't get more than the most basic care. PT and hardware removal are "extras". -

I never lied about it to any of my doctors, etc., but when a law firm representing my insurance company sent a questionaire (not to deny coverage but hoping to find someone to sue, I guess) I was a little vague. -

Yeah, I figure between the initial ER visit, surgery, hospital stay, follow up visits, PT and hardware removal (3 surgeries total) my 2003 broken ankle cost at least 50K, probably more. At some point, I stopped adding up the bills! Luckily, I was insured and probably paid less than $300.00 in HMO co-payments. Without insurance, physical therapy would not have been an option, much less hardware removal. I really don't feel like my recovery was "complete" until that last bit of metal was out of my leg. I'd still be limping, in pain or discomfort 90% of the time and unable to run more than a few steps. Bottom line- without insurance, that is what I would have had to settle for and I would also STILL be struggling to payoff the bills more than 5 years later. If we're talking risk vs. reward- as much as I love skydiving, I really am not sure it would be worth the risk to jump un-insured at this stage of my life.
