Do you think the Bachelor piles up all the chicks on the overnight dates?
tigra replied to chiquita24's topic in The Bonfire
IMO, Rock of Love is a more honest, funnier version of The Bachelor. Face it, any woman who would "complete" for a man on a realty show is a skank with low self esteem. The chicks on The Bachelor wear more clothes and don't work in strip clubs- that's the main difference. And yeah- he does them, same as Brett Michaels. -
Very true. I got out of a deal to purchase a home because of what the home inspector found- potentially serious foundation problems that at the very least warrented another inspection from someone more qualified. I didn't want to shell out any more money for another inspection and decided it was more trouble than it was worth. The sellers were pissed and didn't want to return my earnest money. At one point, they "demanded" a copy of the inspection report and my attorney and realtor both said they would be happy to hand it over, but also reminded them that they would be required by law to disclose the contents to any other prospective buyer. Suddenly, they didn't want it anymore! We also had an attorney approval contingency on the contract and used that as the official "out".

I agree 100%. I just love it. Great cover, totally unexpected from a band like Seether. They do a great job with Across the Universe too. And I am kind of picky about Beatle's covers- I normally don't like them.

It IS tasteless and just plain weird, IMO. After 3 + years, this is her one and only post? "outing" another member as a possible accused double murderer? Or just someone with the same first name, from the same state who may or may not look like the woman in the article? What other possible reason could she have besides causing trouble for someone else?

Registered 3 + years ago and this is her first and only post. Gotta ask- why?

When I went to a toy party, the rep had all the inventory with her. "Shopping" was done in a different room at the end of the party, one person at a time. You left with a plain brown bag full of your goodies. For that kind of thing, who really wants to wait for shipping?

Facebook wants the right to use and sell our content...
tigra replied to skittles_of_SDC's topic in The Bonfire
Isn't that sort of old news and didn't they already back down on this? Monday or Tuesday maybe? It was on the news- I don't do facebook because I am over 20 and not a college student. -
Ditto on the Reggaeton, Latin music and Reggae in general. Some days good old fashioned rock and roll does the trick too. But I even surprise myself with how much I love Reggaeton, especially in the gym! Really, I think anything with a beat that makes you want to move and music that makes you feel good in general works just fine.

My Zumba instructor picked up another class on Monday nights at a club that isn't exactly on my way home but is also not completely out of my way- sort of like the Wednesday night class! So, now if I want (and can get out of the office at a decent time) I can do Zumba twice a week! She changes up her music and choreography every 2 weeks or so, but when she saw me Monday, she said the Wednesday class would be pretty much the same so I could teach it with her. She knows I am a "remedial student" and need the extra work! lol

We use the term "Gruncle" or "Grunkle"- suits my SO well on many levels! Me- I am just an aunt to his nephew's kids! I am way too young to be a "Graunt"!

If you have an open bar, do NOT invite skydivers!

One of my cats can undo zippers- I have soft sided cat carriers that zip closed and she can get out of them easily! I have to use a special one just for her! I ahve another one who can open doors, so I am not even a little bit surprised the cat got out of the cage. I wouldn't count on a 2nd chance with that one, either! Some will even find a way to get the food out of the trap without getting caught inside.

It is just one of many stall tactics used- it can take several months to a year or more to foreclose on a residential property. In this market especially, most lenders would rather be paid than take over the property. If stalling can help a homeowner get their **** together and come up with the money to pay the loan current or pay it off, the lender wins too. More often than not, the homeowners just stay in the property for as long as they possibly can without paying a dime.

She sounds like a "collector" and while she might think she is being kind to these cats, ultimately, she's not. I would keep calling animal control and/or the local ASPCA until they come out and see the situation for themselves. I'm sure she is violating some laws. Feral cats are a potential health hazard. They are also potentially dangerous to any other pets in the neighborhood. Not to mention, the lives these cats are living has to be pretty harsh too.

Only for "below the line" union positions that have that as part of an agreement. For management, layoff doesn't mean diddly about coming back. I'm not union but work for a large corporation. It might not be the law, but there would still be consequences including law suits and a ton of bad press if my company "laid off" hundreds (more like thousands) of people then turned around and hired from outside when the realized they were in a crunch. Most large companies are extremely careful about new hires after a round of layoffs.
-
Layoff is a euphemism for being fired in modern corporate speak. The company never really expects you to return. One main difference is that if the company calls it a "layoff" they have to wait a certain amount of time before they can hire anyone from outside. If they realize they actually need to bring people on again, they need to offer those positions to the people who were laid off first. Where I work, they actually have brought some people back, but only on a contract basis- no benefits, etc. And the job market is so tough right now that these people will take whatever they can get.
-
I'm practically an angel compared to those.
-
Yeah- what he said. Depending on your situation, you might want to talk with your manager and let him or her know you are open to "the package" if they are planning another round of layoffs. In this envoronment, they might appreciate the honesty and you might even help someone else out who really can't afford to lose their job.
-
Nature's Miracle- they sell it large jugs at the let store. Use liberally. And sorry, but it sounds like you need to call animal control on the neighbor. I am a cat lover but feral cats running wild are more than just a nuisance.
-
Agreed- nothing cheap or generic for my nose or my ass! (is that what you meant by "shit tissues"?)

I thought it was Moo - like from a cow's point of view..............

We have a friend that's been working on one for a while now and he has the book. I just got a kick out of the way it was written- stuff like "If you get frustrated, just walk away and chill for a while." That kind of thing. I've got a "new" Beetle now (not so new anymore, with over 108K on it) but I have always had a soft spot for the originals.
-
Do you have the big book about restoring Beetles? The one obviously written by old hippies? I don't know the name of the book but its awesome. Very detailed but with a lot of humor as well.

Committed to Losing the Next Block of Weight! Anyone Else?
tigra replied to ACMESkydiver's topic in The Bonfire
Well, as far as the "plateau"- it isn't all bad. I actually feel pretty good about maintaining this weight for more than 2 years. I've been able to lose weight in the past, but I always gained it back. And I know in order to lose that last 10- 20 pounds or so, I will need to shake things about a bit and be tougher on myself about my eating habits. I'm working on it, but I am stubborn and I like to eat! -
My cat got injured this weekend.. (Possible Humor)

$700.00 sounds like a bargain for emergency medical care. Seriously. Not bad at all.
