  1. That reminds me of something I saw on Saturday Night Live years ago. One of their fake commercials?? An overnight shipping company was promising to take the blame and "distressing" packages to make them look like they had been lost or mishandled instead of just sent late. As dependent as I am on overnight delivery services here at work, I thought it was hilarious!
  2. Zumba is awesome! I have to travel to a different Ballys to take it, it is only offered once a week and I have to pay $7.00 per class, but it is totally worth it. I'm working towards breaking out of the "plateau" I have been stuck in for a while now. Work has been really busy for the past few months, which of course beats the alternative but interferes with my workout routine. Still, I am getting myself back on track.
  3. I once received a box of nice clothes from a store/ chain that I do shop at- really nice, my style and my size even but I knew I didn't order them. It was probably at least $500.00 worth of clothes. Part of me wondered if my shopping had gotten so out of control that the store was now sending me thank you gifts! I called the number on the receipt that came inside the box and they said "ooops!" and sent FedEx to my house to pick the box up.
  4. English please? Yeah seriously...WTF did he just say? Dude doesn't know how to speak proper 'Merican... Come on! I got it on the first try! And to the OP - maybe the wife is a little concerned about your waistline and decided NOT to fill the cookie jar!
  5. I'm just trying to point out that there is another side to the whole "not my job" attitude.
  6. I think I work pretty hard and I am happy to still have a job. I also spend a lot of time doing things that fall outside my job description, some things technically I should *not* be doing because technically I am not "qualified" to do them. Most of the time, I don't mind but when I find myself fixing the same things for the same people over and over again, yes, I admit it- it gets to me! That has nothing to do with being lazy or asking for freebies.
  7. As much as I appreciate the frustration, there are times when I find myself using those exact words. Always having to clean up other people's mistakes and/or essentially doing their jobs for them is frustrating too. And when you suck it up and do it, even though it really is not your job, the only thing you really accomplish is reinforcing the other person's laziness and/or incompetence.
  8. That tops anything I could possibly add to this thread, and I have seen some "interesting" things at the gym! Also, I'm not sure I will ever be able to eat a muffin again without thinking of this!
  9. I can get plenty of good authentic Mexican food by my house, but I was surprised to see a place like that in Ottawa. I'm sorry they didn't make it. Besides- stuff like chilaquiles and al pastor vary from restaurant to restaurant. Its hard to find a place that makes them the way you like them! And I agree, their al pastor was also pretty darn good! Now, how do I tell "El Viejo" our favorite summer restaurant closed?? He won't be happy!
  10. They closed??? Mi Pueblo??? Say it aint so! I loved that place! Where else can I get chilaquiles in Ottawa, Illinois???
  11. I hear ya! I think its especially bad if they are literally just taking a box off the shelf and slapping a label on it - stuff like BC pills, nasal sprays, inhalers, etc. They aren't even counting out pills or measuring anything! Its messed up, and Walgreens seems to be one of the worst about stuff like that! I hope you feel better soon!
  12. OK sorry, but I remember George Clooney telling a very similar story many many years ago on one of those late night talk shows! Of course in HIS story, he was a houseguest and thought he was doing his friend a favor by cleaning the litter box until she started freaking out because she thought her cat was constipated- the rest is pretty much the same. (George Clooney would NEVER admit to using someone's comb as a litter scoop!)
  13. Why? If they want to be "unbanned", isn't it up to them to ask? Of the 2 I know of, it isn't like they were "banned" without ample warning or for no reason- it takes an awful lot to be permanently banned from this site.
  14. This is worse than Nipplegate from a few years ago!
  15. Who told you a chicken breast needs to be thawed for 3 days? That's crazy! I mean- a whole turkey might take 2 days to thaw in the fridge but pieces of chicken?? If I left that in the fridge for 3 whole days, I would think twice about eating it. eeeewwwww Most meats don't take longer than a day to thaw in the fridge. Take if out in the morning and cook it that night!
  16. OK, first of all, you just started weight bearing and that can be pretty painful. You are several months away from even considering removing the hardware and until the ankle is healed a little more completely, you really won't know if it is the hardware that is bothering you or if this is just a normal part of the healing process. BUT----- Yes, 2 years later, I could literally feel the plate catching on my muscle when I walked, especially if I was walking fast or for any kind of distance. When I told my doctor that's what it felt like, I expected him to tell me it was all in my head but he didn't- he said that's exactly what was happening. He scheduled the surgery to remove it without batting an eye. And the relief I felt after it was removed was instant. I had gotten used to being in some pain pretty much all the time- I didn't even realize how much it bothered me until it was gone.
  17. If you build it, they will come ......... People have offered yoga at my dz in the past- sometimes as a "regular" thing and sometimes during a boogie. I never went so I can't say what the turnout was. My guess is that at SDC, they would offer to open the hangar early for you and anyone else interested or maybe the auditorium or skybar. As far as making money- who knows? I say- why not go for it. How much extra room does a yoga mat and coffee can take up anyway?
  18. Wow- great and unexpected post. I know from experience that while breaking my leg was not a pleasant experience, it was a learning experience on a lot of different levels. Good luck with the weight bearing. Hope you saved some pain meds because for those first few days, it can be really really painful. Don't push too hard, know your limits and rest and elevate as needed.

    WTF Bra

If I had any less down there it would be a pimple on my ass. So I guess the answer would be no. Well there you go! While you made a valid point about proper fit, you really don't have any idea what it is like to wear a bra all day!
  20. Why not visit a Buddhist temple? They are usually very friendy, open to visitors and offer literature, etc.

    WTF Bra

I agree it needs to fit, I agree way too many women do not buy bras that fit- I used to be one of them! I disagree with the statement that you won't "feel" a bra if it fits right. That's BS. It might not dig or pinch, but you will still know you are wearing one, and it will still feel good when you finally get to take it off at the end of a long day. Have you ever worn a jock strap or cup for 12 hours straight?

    WTF Bra

For the most part, men only want young women with perky boobs walking around bra-less. The "National Geographic Look" is not sexy!

    WTF Bra

See Divot's comments above. Totally valid reason for wearing a bra, IMO.

    WTF Bra

I disagree with that. That statement might apply to less endowed individuals, but for anyone who really "needs" a bra, if you don't feel it, chances are it isn't doing its job. Still, there is a lot to be said for having someone measure you and buying properly fitting decent quality bras. Most of mine fit just fine, but it is still almost always the first thing that comes off when I get home at night.
