No word that I know of from Jim. I will be there on Friday morning ready to go! I also think Bob will be around Friday as well. I am guessing you and a few other Cali flockers will be around on Friday to play with. Veggie also might be there on Friday as well. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Looks nice. Which suit is that? It does not look to have big enough wings to be a M1 or a SM1 Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

The organizing was there, the people were there and other then the weather all signs pointed to it working. The Base was chunking out clean and I, like the rest, was bummed about the weather. Even on a bad weather Monday, there was lots of support given there was enough for a bench.. The Farringtons have a great "NEW" facility and all was running smoothly. As a side, I do think we were lucky about not getting anyone hurt on those Heelys that were providing entertainment. If there were just a few more 7 year olds to give lessons Next Year for the NW Big Way! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

To toss the Ghost in the mix as I am guessing the suits are going go against eachother pretty well I am getting my neptune averages in the mid/low 40's for full altitude jumps 43mph and 44mph have been very consistant with out getting killed fatigue wise on the jumps. Mind you the bottom of a 150+ second jump I am a little tired I am going off the averages not downloading to the computer so I am getting averages at 12, 9, 6 and 3K with FF time and FF speed average over the entire jump. My weight with out gear is 180lbs with a height of 6' I will be in Oregon this comming weekend for the All of the Above boogie in Molalla, so hope to get some more flock work done in the Ghost. I know a number of suit types are going to be there but I dont know if any M1 or SM1's will be there. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Metal Plane Frames Generally Don't Have a Lot of "Give"

regardless of the exit formation, the real questions come down to: how bad did it affect the exit and what was the score? Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!" -
WOW! I was watching sme of that looking like I half expect to see a guy on a ledge holding a water bottle above his head so it could be grabbed on the way by! One thing I am curious about is the track planning that went into the flights? I dont think you could play it by ear completely as a carve around the wall into the face of another would not seem to far out of question. How much planning goes into a fliget like that. The really twisty ones that is. I wil have to watch that again as I am kinda scratching my head again with the "WOW" thought.. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Tail flap is not someting I have really noticed when dirty. On my Phantom I did notice it at times but so far I have not felt it with my Ghost Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

I love mine. Depending on what you were flying previously it might be tireing on the first few jumps. Not plug and play compared to other suits but not so weird that it should be hard to adjust. Took me a few flights to get a better idea of the "how" to fly it. I am still learning but I am much more comfy now in it! Once you get it more dialed in you will not get very fatigued even on Max time flights.. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

I had an observation as the wings get bigger and bigger. If you thought I was saying something against the SM1 other then using it as the example, you have a low level of tolerence. I still stand by what I said that with wing size increasing a higher level of skill is required for the suit on the ocassion that it is not going 100% right on the flight. The SM1, being the current suit getting lots of the talk now, caused me to bring it up. That said, I am VERY happy with my Ghost but if given the opportunity I will be more then happy to take a SM1 up for a few flights. Only one I have seen (a Mach1 not a super version) in person was small on me and I did not get to jump it.. Construction looked very nice though as I would expect from Tonys shop. Scott C. WOW!! When I see pictures of that and the first Mach 1, I think that is a whole lotta wing!! The wing is aproaching "scary big" Is there a leg pouch for better ease of Pull? That said the suit looks great and the turn time is phenominal in under a week.... My question boils down to what are you gaining on that big of a wing? You dont look overly challenged height or weight wise. I am guessing if you back fly all the time like Jeff or even if you look at the stated description that is on the tony suit site: "The Mach One is our largest wing. Providing a slower fall rate and faster forward speeds. Ideal for heavier pilots" A suit that big makes sense. I guess my spin off question is how much wing is too much for flocking if you dont need the extra surface because of your "big bones"? This question is not a knock againt the Mach 1 in any way but a real question given vocal posts from many on here about their love for the M1 or the SM1. It also introduces the question, with a wing that big, about safety. I dont think it is an unsafe suit and I nobody should take my comment as that but I always looked at the "Big Wing" suits as the arena for the very experienced wingsuit pilot. Nobody can deny the fact that adding that much surface will bring up some challanges to think about from exit to pull and even under canopy to landing, not something for a lesser experienced pilot. IMHO, Bigger suitsa re like HP canopies, they are fantastic when all goes right but the experience is for the 1% of the time that something does not go right. Sorry for the thread drifft and the suit looks nice, a little hot for the summer in the sandy areas maybe but it looks nice!! That said I think the questins I asked above to have some legitimaticy and I would be interested in responses.. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

John, I was looking and you have the same spot in your loop as I have in my loop, just one over! Dive looks nice along with a good group according to the list.... Should be fun! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Well, then it sounds like you will have to send up a "Coach" to fly along the sidelines barking out orders! Live action berating during a skydive, oh the humanity of it all..... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Tandem canopies have the right of way in all situations?
sdctlc replied to stevomooo's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Why would a tandem spiral down past the "sub 100" canopies???? Maybe a better question should be how could it?? Did he open low?? Did the "sub 100" canopies open high?? You mentioned a commerical operation and I guess it coulde ahve been a different load?? I guess more info needs to be gven if you want to get a good response. Scott C. At 1.3 you should have no problems at all. Like Rob noted above Iam also a person that has jumped a good number of the Sabre (I) series well over the 1.3 load your noting. It is funny to look at the opinions of the Sabre today vs. 15 years ago when it was a much newer and HP canopy. It is a great design and will give back more then you think. The design is very good and will accept the heavier loads with out question. BUT like most non-crossbraced going over 1.7/1.8 really will kill the performance. Scott C.
