  1. At first glance it looks like a Vampire'ish leg wing and a Phantom'ish Arm wing. I dont see on the back shot pics any back inlets. What is the arena that the suit is designed for? Robi?? James?? any comments?? Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  2. What!? Bigger is better period.
  3. I had not run across anything for "Jetman" in awhile and came across this video link. Looks like he has come quite a long way in the stuff he can do... http://www.metacafe.com/watch/468993/jetman/ Pretty cool to watch and a few steps beyond the wingsuit jet jump awhile back
  4. I like Pic 1 I know the slow up feeling. My Ghost has tons of range and where I was working harder with my Phantom I find am holding back a little with the Ghost. The new suit designs are really getting good! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  5. That is great your going to be back. After traveling for work you get to jump and see family, killing a couple of birds with one stone. Good thing you will be there as it is looking like Glen is bagging out that weekend for something or another. That is 2 things on the west coast he is missing for some "unknown" reason. Hope some of the SoCal wingsuiters dont follow Glens lead and not migrate north for the weekend. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  6. Glen, What ya going to do, stick south or come north to the Lodi thing that happens to be at the same time.. Choices Choices Choices. It is looking like 5 of us are coming to lodi from Washington and BC so it should be fun... It is a bummer that they are both the weekend of the 12-14th Oct. Scott C. 7. Very sage advice. I mention it on most every dirt dive in hopes that I can can loose the "target" logo I apparantly have somewhere on my body. Also getting hit from below and behind really gives a painful outcome, see stars, blood can fill the goggles, ect Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  8. Just keep fighting the good fight! Fat head/Fat mid section it is all good... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  9. Makes for a fun jump with all of that going on. First off it sounds like you thought through the problem pretty well and came to some good conclusions. I would sugggest after the PC pitch on future jumps not to rely on the standard 1, 2, 3 struff and think about looking over your shoulder. This is going harken back to the frst jumpd days with "Arch, Look Reach Pull Check Check" If you have a poor toss and big burble the Check will adjust the position and probably get the PC going. I had a lazy toss a few weeks back and knew it right away as the usual was not what I was feeling. I looked over my shoulder and the PC bapped me in the face but the turn and small roll got it going. Another jump I tossed and looked and saw the PC behind me but not pulling. Thinking back to days of many CRW jumps I started to reach back to manually pyull the pin . The dip in the shoulder with the adjustment in body position let me feel the bag come off my back when I was moving my hand back to pluck the pin. I dont think it was stuck but it was my reaction from previous experience and the motion I did broke the burble I am guessing. All that said I am just saying be ready to be reactive tothe situation. At 6 JK you had time to deal with it. If yo had the same experience at 2.5K then what you did is probably the first thing to do. If you had not gotten rushed and thought about your altitude you might have avoided the reserve ride. Nothing wrong with the ride and your reaction but I hope you take it as a learning experience and dont just go by what yo "felt" usually. As for the reserve turn, it is a tempo. They have a characheristic that a built in turn was common on many of them. If you search the threads I think you will see it. The 3/4 seems a bit much but tempos have been reported to have full flight turns built in. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  10. I maried a jumper then a number of years, House and child later spending time at the DZ is tougher and tougher. I have to walk the line.. Since our kid came along my wife put skydiving aside, her choice not mine, and being a jumper at a DZ not jumping is no fun... I dont blame your worries as it is tough but it can be done. I am fortunante that my wife is a former jumper and I hope she comes back at some point but I now fall into the balance the boat situation. When we got married and for a few years after it was the DZ for every weekend, now with the other stuff added in it is me at the DZ a chunk of the time bt no where near the time I previously did... Good luck Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  11. Back in the day?? My BatRack is flying just fine Thank You!! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  12. I agree with Scott, What are you looking for. If you look at the bottom picture of the 4 he posted, you get 2 outlooks on the same formation but from entirely different angles, obviously they wanted different thingsand had a different thought on how to get them. If you were interested in the opening shot of the primary subject then the formation footage was extra and you could have been planning a opening shot all along and been in the position that you felt would give a beter result?????? If you wanted to highlight the subject then a lower position with a more head on angle to the subject, or maybe the same low position (outside the formation slightly higher) but looking at or the subject jumper from the side. Either one would /might give what you were looking for separate then a "overall formation" top shot Maybe I am missing someting on the first shot over Toole (I think that is the DZ) that you were looking for. The low jumper, if not the subject, was only of issue to be aware of their location for safety.. I guess I am not 100% sure what your asking..... The top shot was nice though of a 9 way Scott C. 13. I had an idea that production cameras were really spendy but WOW! Still I dont see too many skydivers going out and shelling $25K on the camera and lens for a Tandem video Maybe Joe Jennings or those shooting aerial work for skydiving stunts in movies . This technology, I am guessing, should/could/will open up for some better quality non- computer generated skydiving scenes but again not for the 4 way or tandem vid. That said, from a trickle down point of view, it is cool to see better cameras get closer in price to what a meer mortal can work towards. I am guessing the day is comming it wall be much more reasonable for our tiny segment. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  14. I dont think you would care too much given if you can afford the $17.5K cost of the body you are probably the type of person the who does not care! Fromn the "Store" page at the "red" site http://www.red.com/ RED ONE $17,500.00 Includes- Camera body P/L Mount Accessory Cables Operations Guide License for REDCINE software Then you add the lens: RED ZOOM (f2.8) CF 18 - 50mm $6,500.00 Or if you really want to go Mack Daddy go for the prime set, what a bargian!! RED PRIME SET $19,975.00 Delivery time is estimated for 1st quarter of 2008. Includes – f2.8 15mm f1.9 25mm f1.9 35mm f1.9 50mm f1.9 85mm I dont know what other "production" cameras cost but this is probably in that arena! Dont get me wrong, if I had limitless funds and wanted top of th line this looks like it would be AWESOME!! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  15. Cool, I was glad to hear about the meeting and jumping for the Seattle Skydivers! If you have not jumped at Blue Skies the views are some of the best in the NW from Altitude and you can almost reach out and touch Seattle it looks so close. Indoor packing and a huge landing area, all the makings for a good weekend. If any body want to do some flocking let me know so i can get an idea on # of wingsuitters that will be there. Lets do some fun organized flocks. Also, in addition to jumps on the 9th, I am trying to get Flockers out there on the 22-23 of Sept as the Caravan will be at Blue Skies that weekend as well... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  16. Looks good. It definantly matches your rig!! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  17. All looked great then my mind actually melted when I got to row 269 of 500+ and my hand started to involuntary speed slap me for even opening what I knew would be a data graph Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  18. Picture mde me go back a watch the video another time and I came to the same "WOW" stunned feeling again. Amazing flying and if yo had just gone with the helmet cam shots I would have thought it was from under canopy as it was similar to the PD factory team images from flying the terrain awhile back. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  19. I just fly my slot, not bothering anybody and BAMMMM, I get taken out. This is a trend I think that needs to be stopped as I AM NOT A TARGET!!! I guess I should be more eratic in my flying so I am a moving target, harder to hit. I doubt that will help though . I am going to have to get full body armor to go flocking as I seem to be the target du jour. At least somebody went for the pink and left me alone on one of the jumps. If the trend continues, Jason I am sure you will get your chance. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  20. The weekend was good. Weather held off and gavce 3 outstanding days of weather with no real problems. I actually did not fly the camera this weekend. Sorry to dissapoint there Glen. I did have my stuff but I was in everything we were doing so I did not feel like shooting a bunch of arse shots, or you can translate that to I was lazy about putting my camera helmet on.. I will make up for it at Lodi in Oct. and wear it on all jumps, stills and video! will that make you feel better? Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  21. why not do the distance challange from a lower altitide?? get out at 6 and be open by 2 or out at 7 open by 3, I dont care. This takes the whine out of the situation. Run the plane 90 off the direction of flight for the wingsuit run and toss a jumper out every few seconds where they can make the turn and hit it hard for a shorter time period so fatigue should be out of the mix. Pinky did that at Lodi earlier this year on the Wingsuit Weekend and it worked out well Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  22. All of those are good ideas. I took the corners out on my Infinity, put in dynamic corners and it worked great. Also I use an extended bridle with a very light PVC pipe section used in place of the hackey to lighten the weight for the PC toss. I was warned a long time ago that a hackey can create an issue is the WS pull environoment, though I never had an issue before I switched as I had a monkey fist which seems to be in the middle weight wise from the Hackey to the PVC, when I get the extended bridle I figiured I could use all the help I could get in the sub terminal air. This works great short of me not giving a good toss with the PC. Also if you concentrate oon level shoulders on opening along with a good aggressive toss that I think takes most of the problems that your trying to fix away with the above items. Scott C.
