    After I landed out on jump #12 and banged up my shoulder I began my canopy obsession. I read PD's and Icarus' websites top to bottom. I tried to learn everything about every canopy.     Isnt nose drag from an open cell? I mean with a closed nose, doesnt the air flow over the top of the cell instead of acting like a brake by trying to fly into it? Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome

    I have not flown that, but I flew the lotus when Brian was at the ranch last year and didnt like it at all. Brian was very disappointed but was glad for my input. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome

    I am interested to hear who told you you cant demo one. It is an awesome canopy. I personally think it has a bigger operating range than either the sabre2 or the lotus.     The only time I've had a tough time with the riser pressure on mine (141 @ 1.7) is after the canopy starts to recover and I try to give it a little more "ummphh". Also when I am on heading and I want to keep it in a double front dive (steep). Other than that I dont think its too high at all. Get that puppy divin!     Thats what Dan told my gf after he sent her a 170 to demo and she had half a collapse on final in no winds. She is about 155 out the door. Didnt seem inportant enough to mention before, I guess. No matter though. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome

    If Icarus releases "canopy x", then PD will wait and release the answer to it. Icarus will then appear to be playing catchup If PD releases "canopy y", then Icarus will do the same and try to have the apparent edge. Neither wants to be in that position I believe. Like you said, with both their canopies doing well, they dont want to stir the pot just yet. I dont think this has to do with r+d in this case. Sell that sabre2, and have PD build you a new one (same color scheme, of course) with the reinforcement for the retractable p/c Or you can get back to rw like you've been doing seeing as how all the cool kids think you and howard have crew coodies.     got mine yesterday. I think its worth it. I mean, its not gone with the wind (or whatever), its a swooping dvd. I like it a lot. Lots of cool footage.     Im usually pretty good with visualizing this stuff but I gotta admit, Im having a real tough time letting go of the ground with the seperation thing. With canopy flight it was real easy to understand but for some reason this just isnt clicking as easy. I think I might have to find a way to get a hold of microsoft office so I can look at Kallends powerpoint presentation. Or maybe I forgot to pay my brain bill this month.
