  2. Skuzzlebutt! And when he gets shot, patrick duffy screams noooooo! Comic genius! Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  3. I would'nt think of getting any other container than an odyssey. The service at sunpath is unparalleled. It is super comfortable and totally safe. I have seen plenty of "safe and safest" rigs open in freefall. They are all prone to problems. There is nothing wrong with jevelins designs for freeflying. If any of the other containers were being produced when the early javs were, you'ld see problems with them too. > Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  4. Just to defend Matt's ears, Scott does teach that deep brakes will provide the best glide on a canopy. He spoke from experience on PD canopies and said most others should be the same. I told him I was going against the grain with my xfire and he agreed as he has heard many an Icarus jumper say they find rear risers to produce best glide. Scotts analogy IIRC has only pertaining to no and tailwind conditions, but he said minimizing the rate of descent would always (his words) produce the best glide. 5. I know once packed they are straight, but the ease that they popped on the top was the problem. Any handling of the riser could have caused it to pop. Even grabbing the risers on opening. The bottom keeper was tighter causeing the top one to give way first. Personally I think the bottom keeper is almost unnecessary, except for keeping the toggle from flapping around. The top of the toggle is what must be secure. I dont know why they made the bottom so tight. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  6. My buddy just recievced a new set of mirage risers and I could get the toggle to pop in my hands with only a slight flex in the direction they would go over your shoulder. He sent them back. It seemed the the bottom toggle keeper held tighter than the top one and because they went in opposing directions, there was no slack to allow and flexing of the riser. 7. A note about Eric's mal. He wasted a bunch of time farting around with the main after he decided he would chop. Said it would make a "cool video". Something he said he will never do again! Enlightening when you see the reserve fully inflate at about 250 feet! Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  8. Dont forget about crosswind! Awesome DVD (now)! Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  9. Once you start getting on those risers, it'll get real fast, real quick! How are those toggles holding up? Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome

  15. I've sold 5 canopies on here and am in the process of selling my 6th. Never had a problem yet but as a seller, I had my "rules". I needed the money up front before I sent anything. Aside from that I worked completely around the buyer. I know its only $100 but the person should be willing to work with you. If they dont want to help sell it, then you dont want to buy it, believe me. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  16. I'm sure they are trying to avoid this happening again like was the case on the early sabre2's and vengeances. I've heard both early versions of these canopies had to be "tweeked" to become acceptable after the release. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  17. Im not sure about the airlocked canopy you have, but how is that swiftplus 70 reserve loaded at 2.9 open? And why use your old airlocked when you have a xaos loaded at 2.4 at 180 jumps? Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  18. Precision will only make a xaos in any size you want. They used to offer their 7 cell in any size you want to, but have since removed that option it seems. Not in the nitron, though. Funny only the canopies that are "adapted" from the Icarus line could be built in any size. I have also never heard of anyone having any problems or adverse affects with a custom sized Icarus canopy. I believe > that their designs were made with scaling in mind. I believe the constant cell aspect ratio lends itself to this. But then again thats just me. God I love my xfire2 141. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  19. You wont be sorry. I am looking forward to trying a katana to see if it can hold a candle to my xfire2. Im not to worried about that. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
