    I am not directing this at you personally, but I have noticed that people who try to squeeze a nickel out of a dime and go with dealers working out of their mom's garage get burned and blame others rather than own up to trying to get a special deal because they themselves are special.     It is possible that philosophers such as Ayn Rand and Neitzsche are part of your problem. What would Ayn Rand think of your breakdown in the bathroom? Exactly. You cannot control the circumstances you will find yourself in when that door opens. You cannot, to a large extent, control your feelings. But what you do have 100% control over is your attitude.     I jump at a Cessna DZ, so I can look at the GPS groundspeed and subtract that from the airspeed, which, if you are flying into the wind, gives you the wind speed. You can also get a pretty good idea of the windspeed by hanging your head out the door and determining how fast or slow your ground speed is. Slower ground speed means take it out farther and take more time between jumps. Not scientific, but it works very well, even for CRW. I also ask people and pilots on the previous loads what their experience has been. John's advice to look at the clouds is a very good one if you can remember to do it!     If every jumper was a fan of wind hitting his face there would be no market for full-faced helmets. I don't like the wind in my face, and I've owned nine motorcycles, too. To the OP--hang in there and get a full face helmet when your instructor says it is OK. I can recommend Bonehead's ReVolve. "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom.
