    Free alcohol

Who ever thought that it would be a good idea to have free alcohol at the work christmas party!? Keep the noise down please
  2. It almost has to be done. Surprisingly cheaper than I though too. Nothing says 'wanker' more than a personalised number plate, but it is kinda cool

    STOP THE GUNS

Your annoying me now. Your probably right though, you know better than the masses of chief police officers and street officers working on it day in day out having an impact on peoples lives and affecting their community for better. What should we do then Einstein? Build them community halls to hang out in, youth shelters? The very same ones they burn down? Maybe we should try to councel them and ask them why they do what they do and try to nurture them or we could convict those that break the law. Its an old fashioned approach, but I like it, call me grandad.
  4. Your probably right, the officers safety means nothing. Why didn't she put on her cape and the pants on the outside of her trousers and fly in there like something out of loony toons. Again, basing this on the speculative information we have I feel I support the use of force. Hands up who has ever tried to single handedly restrain a truly violent (I don't mean having a tantrum) 11 year old. Its hard, its hard to restrain anyone one on one especially given what we now know about his size. Lets also consider other possibiliteis. Would she be equipped with pepper spray or CS? If so, would it be appropriate to use that in the confines of a classroom or hallway due to the cross contamination? I'd say yes if I had no alternative, but if I did have an alternative such as TASER that would be perfect response option. I'm sure questions would alse be asked if she'd started batoning a child from behind. To strike a person from behind when they are on top of someone is dangerous, all sorts of sensitive areas are exposed and moving around, be it elbows, head, neck spine. If your prepared to say 'well its his fault if he gets hurt for acting in the manner he did' then you would have to agree with the use of TASER too. Hes young, presumably healthy, there is no reason why the use of a TASER would raise any obvious concerns before its use. Plus, when you got a matter of seconds to react, what you think you may have been able to do afterwards its irrelevant. Its easy to sit and give critisicism to people actions when you werent there or in their shoes. Experience shows me that those who give criticism of others actions are normally the same people who would walk past and do nothing
  5. Yeah, it was a good job they shot it before running it over with a tank Why did they do that you think? So if they rebuilt it with a bit of panel beating skills they still couldn't see out the windscreen

    STOP THE GUNS

Give me the magic wand to stop people wanting to kill or hurt each other and I'll use it. I think Trident has proved its success. One gun off the street is a potential life saved. If the Trident team weren't working hard keeping on top of supply of weapons and pressuring communities to speak out imagine what trouble we would have. To say something hasn't had an effect is foolish, sometimes the mere presence of the authority can be enough to prevent crime. Only if you were without it it would you truly appreciate the good work it does. As a simple example. Police officer does foot patrol all night. Sees loads of people, chats to the community, is a high vizibility presence in the area and no reports come in for that area that evening. Is that a negative result or a positive result? Just because he wasn't rolling around on the floor arresting people (do your police do that?) doesn't mean he didnt do some good.

    STOP THE GUNS

Did you actually look at the site or watch the video? The whole operation is aimed at making youngsters see that guns aren't cool and don't give you street cred. They are dangerous on the streets in gang environments. Think what DARE is to drugs, thats what Trident is to guns over here.
  8. It wouldn't be unjustified, just not as per policy. I would like to be part of the defense and ask the police forces officer safety instructors what other techniques they recommend for stopping a vehicle... bodily force maybe, powers of the mind, shouting loudly, playing dead? All pretty inneffective against avehcile driven at you. This would hopefully prove they used the right response option (note - not saying they did, just questioning the policy)
  9. Every police force has its own policy, but this does not overrule law. For example, one of our policies is to always arrest at a domestic incident. If you got no powers of arrest, after you check out the situation, then that would be unlawful to arrest, despite what policy dictates. No one, not even your employer, can overrule your legal protection. ie. Honest held belief of imminent danger and reacting to that danger. Lets stop digging out dirt and abstract quotes from the media and let the courts decide if the force was lawful or not
  10. Stabbed someone in the kneecap with a compass after he stabbed me in the arm repeatedly Got 1 days internal suspension (sit with the headmaster all day) while the other kid got a whole weeks exclusion. Mwahahha Teachers kept coming up to me and going 'good for you' - LOL
  11. Oh please, if there truly is a god, let it happen, please!
  12. Pure orange for sure. Although it can burn! Apple is like piss and grapefruit is too bitter/sour.... whatever
  13. I don't know to be honest. Only voted once yet that was the only voting card I have ever been sent. I think its at the end of every parliamentery (sp?) term so should be regular.
  14. Lol, the hippies won't let you do that
  15. Now I know your lying. I hate peanut butter!
  16. I agree, if they want to better themselves they will do it. They don't need masses of money. If they want to spend their time constructively to sort themselves out thats down to them. Its not like they've got better things to be doing. I would probably end up trying to learn something, if only to pass the time. There should be no carrot other than the prospects of living an honest life and being a respectable member of society
  17. Sorry wasn't targetted at you. I just clicked reply to respond to thread
  18. I heard a rumour that your one postwhoring bastard! Good to have you back buddy
  19. If they apologise we should sue Mr Blair: In short, go fuck yourselves. It wasn't an offence back then and as such expect no kind of apology or repatriations.
  20. In fact does anyone find it offensive that its even been brought up? I kinda do. It was years ago, why should the current generations apologise for what happened years ago? Who honestly is out there waiting for an apology? What a crock of shit. Either live with it or get the fuck off my island In fact, Mr Blair, you get the fuck off my island you prick. So what do they want? Reparations? Do one
  21. Personally, I couldn't give a fuck. It is just that, history. If you feel offended, get over it
  22. I hope you all added your time in the aircraft! Thats gotta be a pretty huge contribution. Kinda selfish when you think about it... but what ya gonna do!?
  23. Everyone makes mistakes in all sorts of situations in life. When weapons are involved, along with fear and very little time to react, the consequences can be severe. I don't understand what this black/white argument is. Are people trying to say it was a racist attack? I find it hard to believe you'd get away with being a racist cop in New York for very long. You'd be out the force extremely fast. From what we have read (and how accurate is the media) there has been some sort of altercation or exchange of words inside or outside the venue, furthur to that for whatever reason a vehicle nearly hits a police officer. With your laws I'm of the understanding he'd be within his rights to shoot the driver to protect his own life or anyone elses in those circumstances. Whether they are armed or not is irrelevant, they were in a vehicle which is deemed a lethal weapon isn't it? The belief of whether they were armed is important. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but when your experiencing a 'brown trouser moment' you dont have that benefit. I find it amusing that many people seem to find it ok that a civilian can practically execute someone for being on their property but if a police officer fears for his life hes not allowed to shoot. What the fuck? Double standards! Same over here, if we get the shit kicked out of us, very rare for any serious conviction. But if we are found guilty of excessive force we'd lose our jobs, receive a stiff penalty and be publically humiliated by the media as some sort of public relations exercise. Too bad they were a bunch of assholes. If they were behaving themselves they wouldnt have even come to police attention.
