  1. Its just a feel good measure, seeing as they dont have instant live access to every countries national database by the time they've realised anything is up you would be long gone. Also if you were there up to no good you could sand your fingers or cut them to ruin the impressions that would be taken. Within a week your prints would look very different. As my full time job is mechanical engineer my fingers are forever smooth from linishing and have cuts from sharp swarf etc and it is therefore believable that some peoples prints are 'mutilated' quite badly. This is the reason everytime someone is taken into custody they have their prints retaken, they do change. Throw in enough doubt and its possible would be thrown out of court on insuffcient evidence.

    E

Just keep it away from the dropzone That could be a dangerous combination
  3. I wish people would stop using poor upbringings and stress during childhood as excuses for peoples behaviour, it fucks me off. Plenty of people have unpleaseant upbringings and use it as a negative reinforcement of how they dont want to live their lives. Just because the examples and expreiences you have received are negative doesn't mean you need to go the same route
  4. No such thing as an RTA anymore as there is no such thing as an accident, it is always someones fault. Road Traffic Collision is the term nowadays (RTC)
  5. No drugs, no need to be on streets. Simple
  6. I find the plastic looking electonic gadgetry disturbing. Its enough tio make me never want to fly again. I now appreciate the fact they lock the cockpit doors nowadays. Just out curiosity (and to demonstrate my total lack of knowledge of commercial aircraft) if they had some sort of total power failure mid flight could the aircraft even be flown?
  7. I don't want to drag this into Speakers Corner, I applaud your caring nature if your willing to take on a child like this but I often wonder why people adopt foreign children when there are plenty of unloved or orphaned children in your own country who would appreciate a second chance.
  8. Isnt there a special discipline for people with impaired vision in the, erm, special olympics? (is that the right term - I dont mean to sound patronising) I think it is a pretty competitive sport, not so sure of hunting though Target shooting yes, hunting animals. I think not
  9. I wouldn't care what detail was brought up as long as it was accurate. If I did something incredibly stupid, flame me and tell others why it was so dumb. If it was a mistake, call it what it is. If it was something beyond my control speak up for me! I don't find it disrespectful that hours after someones died it appears on the board as long as any info that appears relating to the incident is accurate and not speculative. People die, its what happens. When it happens for me I don't mind others discussing it factually. Although I'm hoping it will be a boring discussion along the lines of 'well at 110 he had a good innings and died peacefully in his sleep so we cant complain' rather than need to be discussed about on here at all
  10. LMAO. Your right there Not unless you want a laugh anyway
  11. *NOTE TO SELF* Never ask the people on DZ.com for electrical advice

    STOP THE GUNS

I guess it does apply both ways but it was my thread dammit!
  13. Look up Betaris Box It explains perfectly, how psychologically a negative or aggressive attitude can escalate a situation. So stop being awkward and just be reasonable and maybe you'll find things go along much smoother from now on.
  14. Yeah, whatever happened to calling a shit a shit As for... PLEASE WONT SOMEONE THINK OF THE CHILDREN! Behave! So it looks like 5 whores dead. Its a risky business eh, wonder how they'll get their heroin money now as the rest of the 'working' girls presumably keeping their heads down at the moment

    STOP THE GUNS

Its OK everyone, I've ordered a bulk delivery of 7 foot rolls of cotton wool. All the people breaking the law I was just going to wrap them up in it from now on. Gone are the days of enforcing legislation. After I make sure they're comfortable I'll sit them down with a cup of tea and we'll discuss why they are so violent and why they felt the need to shoot someone. Maybe the idea of not having weapons is odd to you, but its not to us. Get that in your thick heads and stop looking through your ethnocentric eyes. 'Geez, everyones weird except us' - wankers
  16. *sigh* I guess a guy can dream Unfortunately they expect money for singing 4 lines of 'we wish you a merry christmas', no-one does good spirited community things round here unless they on community service
  17. Just had our first carol singers today (12th December) Naturally they left empty handed. Told them to come back neare the time and make better effort as well! What is up with pikey kids? Maybe they think people wont say no because they feel on the spot
  18. In my book your a criminal if you engage in criminal activity. Stop trying to put definitions on words and label things. Maybe he wasnt text book definition of criminal, but he was up to no good and they responded accordingly. If you knew someone was a serial rapist but never been caught would you treat them with respect and courtesy because they've never been before the courts? I do find the situation alarming though, police are there to protect life and limb, that includes after care when you have used force. As someone said there was plenty of people there to help and get hands on, even if you know your actions are futile you do all you can until real professional help can take over. To do anything less is negligent. I was told on my first aid training that if you come across someone and you really know theres not alot you can do you do it anyway, firstly your not a trained medical professional and you may be wrong and secondly you cant be seen not to do something, you end up with shit like this!
  19. Yeah, also turn the backlight down. WHilst having bright illuminated screen is cool, its unneccesary and seems to drain it, paticularly if you have it illuminated for long time after inactivity.
  20. Careful mate, I've seen the standard of driving out there!
  21. Ah right, but thats kind of tunnel vision as being a WORLD WAR there was a bit more to it than the US & Japs in the Pacific. Equal oppurtunity disser: Thats a philosophy I like to use with my mentees (is that a real term?). I figure they can't complain about me taking the mickey if I do it equally to all of them
  22. In times of high stress your body tends to get tunnel vision and focus on the immediate threat in front of you so it makes sense that you lose awareness of other secondary, but very important factors (like altitude). I guess thats why its so drummed into us to be altitude aware, to make a concious effort to know where you are so when incidents like this occur you have a better training to fall back on, almost subconciously as its become habbit
  23. Bwahahahahaha, that did make me chuckle. God bless America. No truly, if it wasn't for you we'd all be in such a bad way no wonder you got this superiority complex and think you can push people around. The world owes you, right? Don't forget your little chestnut there was to kill and maim thousands of civilians with a couple of indiscriminate bombs, the like of which the world never wants to see again. GQ: If everytime things got tough people ran away the world would be a sad place. Keep up the good work, but I can imagine its hard when idiots at home make you think why the fuck am I doing this if noone appreciates it. Few issues I should get off my chest now. Ban the media from warzones, they have no place there and are painting a bad picture in their usual media-hype way. When they get shot or injured we never hear the end of it, like its shocking for someone to get hurt on a battlefield. Up the manpower and aggression and really turn that country over. If your going to fight a war you need to do it properly, not play a political game tip toeing through the country. You guys should have the tools, the man power and the support to clean the place up. Not put up with some fat ass politician using you as pawns in his election game. This is where democracy sucks, playing to the peoples needs when you've got unfinished business elsewhere
  24. The dog is innocent in all events it will encounter in its role as a police dog. Does that mean it should never be subject to any duty? Dog handlers get close to their dogs but at the same time they have to be able to let go and remember that their dog is a tool. Everytime a dog is released to pursue or detain someone it could suffer serious injury. If you were not realistic in that approach and never let go of your dog you'd be a pretty ineffective dog handler. I must admit, if its a true account I fail to see why 81 shots were fired but if there was a number of officers there and they all felt fear for their safety and reacted instinctively to a threat I suppose it could be understood. Take it they arent trained to do neat double taps and reassess the subject? I know in the UK the armed police have been criticised as gun ho and reckless by military trainers in the past. Wonder if its a general worldwide thing that police lack professionalism in these sorts of incidents
