  1. LMAO - Funny, I recall a similar one in Heathrow though so we are all guilty of stupidity! Do they not have passport control though?

    Cute

Hahaha, your right. I hadn't even thought of that
  3. My Mum came back with an artificial christmas tree this morning Personally I'd rather pay a little extra and not have the space taken up for 12 damn months
  4. Calm it mate, they dont know fuck all about it but think they do. They clearly think that Scotland is under the same laws as England & Wales: Incorrect ...and somehow the topic has diverted from air weapons to live firing handguns (as every thread remotely to do with weapons, violence seems to)
  5. I don't wear a seatbelt when I'm patrolling but we have legal exemption. If you have to make off to pursue someone or respond to a spontaneous situation when you have your seatbelt on and are wearing body armour you can often forget you have it on, struggling for a couple of seconds before you remember. I will put it on though if get involved in pursuit or in high speed response call but remove it before we get to scene

At the risk of losing my man card, I found this and thought I should post it
  7. Telling people something is a repost is unneccesary too. Im sure in many moons to come, almost everything will be a repost. Nothing can be 100% original forever
  8. Haha, no worries. I had one boss I can think of who really took me under his wing, taught me everything and I really respected. He was like a father figure to me too. I admit I did have visions of you giving your boss a fishing rod then scratching his back and asking for time off or a raise
  9. This is so wrong. No parent has the right to 'design' any abnormality or defect (Which is what it is) into a child. Can you imagine being a child and finding out you were purposefully fucked about with to be a dwarf or deaf. It would be awful. If anyone did this they should have the child removed from their custody and put into a more suitable placement I dont see how this can be done legally, would it not constitute a serious assault or other offence? Just because it happens prior to birth doesn't mean you havent inflicted harm on the child. Of course, if this was the case abortion would have to be looked at very differently too
  10. My Brother gave upwork and went back to Uni so hes got in some financial issues. Hes had to stop using his mobile phone cos the bank and credit card companies etc keep harrassing him. Him and his GF dont seem to communicate much when theyre not in person cos of this so I got him a brand spanking new Pay as you Go mobile phone. His face was magic! And im the little brother! EDIT: I see you bought your Boss a decent present! WTF!? Unless your boss is your SO too what the hell you playing at! Seems backward to me
  11. Well done for cheating the law you prick. Is that not in itself 'crooked'? Hopefully someones reading this and you'll get done for perverting the course of justice or whatever the US equivalent is.
  12. I take it you mean homo'phobic' behaviour as opposed to sexual harrasment.
  13. Yeah that was good. Good old HARDCORE brits conquering the difficult face. Go on lads! I've seen touching the void too, that was amazing. Also on the same subject but different setting was the whole Bravo Two Zero legend. Simply amazing
  14. Im confused, was this show the one with the British Army going up the dangerous (north if I recall correctly) face? I watched some of that, was amazing stuff. I love survival and human endurance challenges like that (to watch and rarely participate!) Had the extreme skier who died in an avalanche
  15. That sucks. Can you claim on their insurance or your house insurance?
  16. I understand where your coming from but I dont get why people think cops get a hard on for raising revenue. Its not like they see any of the money. The seatbelt thing is awkward but you could probably get someone to fight that, as for the licence, well if your exempt then thats a matter of fact. That will be dismissed.
  17. My bonus was I never need to go back again... ever
  18. Am I being thick or what? I thought the thing was a glider on its return to earth?
  19. Perhaps spending some time (maybe 10 mins) in a wind tunnel will help you feel more comfortable in freefall. Its a good safe environement for you to practice basic stability, control and movement. For me, going in a wind tunnel and learning to just relax and arch was like someone switching on the light, the next time I was in the air for real I felt so much more comfortable with it all. Addressing the question, I don't find the exercises strenuous, I agree might be your tense and fighting with yourself rather than the air. Good luck and let us know how you get on!

    PC or not.

By the very definition of prejudice I'd say yes but it would depend on your experience. Have you personally had a negative experience or are you just generalising or going by what you hear in society or media? For example, walking through London you see a large group of black youths, all with their hoods up. Do you avoid the group, cross over the road because you feel they must be up to no good or looking for a fight? Do you not bother speaking to the woman at the garage when taking your car in and instead go straight to the male worker because he must know more surely or be the senior partner? Are all German holiday makers obnoxious sun bed thieves? Are all British holiday makers just out to get really pissed and start trouble? Once you know your prejudices and identify them you realise where you might discriminate and can avoid doing so. Its what I was taught and I think its true
  21. I think the general thought is that if we, who have lived as an unarmed (and still remarkably polite) society routinely armed all police officers then the lower level criminal would arm themselves too where they otherwise wouldnt have. Of course, noone can say for sure if that would be the case. As Sean says, the neccesity for firearms is so slight that it isn't entertained when it comes to Health & Safety of police officers. I've done 3 years now as a hobby bobby and although not putting in same duty time as the likes of regular colleagues as Sean, I've never felt that I would have found a gun neccesary in any situation I've been in. I've only used my CS spray once, never used my PAVA (pepper sray which is now used in place of CS) and drawn my baton once at a medium sized public order incident but never used it. This includes dealing with people with knives (Car door came in very handy there whilst travelling at speed ) and improvised weapons.
  22. I used to play with air guns all the time. I think a more appropriate ruling would be 'not to be in a posession of an air weapon in a public place' (which we already have dependent on weapons power) I think the real issue is not because of accidents but because many are used as imitation firearms in robberies etc. I think itd be a silly idea personally. John, as a heads up, do you know how hard it is to get yourself in prison in the UK? Its not like over your neck of the woods where if you fart out of line your looking at 5 years inside. Custodial sentances are very seldom issued and for a charge to be raised the CPS has to deem the prosecution to be in the public interest. I fail to see how prosecuting an otherwise decent person for having what is little more than a toy in their own property would be in the public interest. Maximum sentance might be a custodial sentance but the likelyhood of that being given out when we have murderers and rapists kicked out onto the streets less than 5 years after being remanded suggest they probably wont do that. Also its a Scottish member of Parliament. Scotland have their own laws and are seperate to England & Wales

    STOP THE GUNS

Hook, line and sinker! Reel me in!
  24. Surely all the information it would hold would be their identity and where and when they previouslly entered the country. Seems pointless to me, it couldnt hold much relevant information (correct me if I am wrong) as most countries dont have a live fingerprint database that could be integrated into the US network in the first place. Might as well ask them to do fingerpaintings and pin them on the wall somewhere. I only see it being any good if someone has already been convicted of terrorism offences in the US and they return to the country. Then you know you got a wrong 'un on your patch and to keep an eye on him or refuse entry
