  1. That is such a line of BS. My GF is a Doctor, so I know about medicine. Perhaps if neither of you know anything about policing neither of you should be arguing about it. No. 1 point is WE DONT WANT TO BE ARMED. Those that do join the armed units. Simple.
  2. Damn, you really are lazy! http://www.skydivingmovies.com/ver2/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=3047&string=omniflyers
  3. PM means private message. See if you received one from me. Should have on top of forum in red writing that you have a message. Also will send alert to your registered email address.
  4. Yeah, but it must be kinda cool to have your own xray collection Seeing them just makes me want to get my own. In the same way that a racing driver isnt a racing driver until hes rolled a car Note: I am of course joking and do not want to injure myself or suggest anyone else does the same just to get a wicked xray collection
  5. I would never ever use floor wax or paint. Yuk, cheating and I dont think there isnt one person who wouldnt notice that in an inspection. THe lots of wax and hard work method seems to have done the trick. I always used to build up layers without that initial thick base. Certainly has done the trick. White spirit is the daddy of household cleaners. No home should be without a bottle or two
  6. Trouble is because I use my boots as normal patrol boots they get smashed to bits from climbing over walls, fences and wrestling with naughty people so everytime its like starting from scratch again. I have cleaned paint out of the carpet with white spirit before and didnt stain the carpet s I wonder if thatll work again. Hmmmm
  7. OK, so for the first time ever I was trying the 'melt the polish with a lighter' method. Who knows how to get Kiwi polish out of carpet My boots do look awesome though and thats cool cos I got a presentation night tonight
  8. I seem to have the opposite problem of flaring too low and then instead of PLFing (mental block - I know I should) I lift my legs up and that extra couple of feet is enough for a very graceful slide on my legs, bum. Yes I know about tailbone etc but its a mental thing. My brain says, fall over or sit down. Hmm, ill sit down please
  9. Yeah, Crosswind is OK, some of the footage of the freeflying and the BASE bits in the extra footage section is amazing, but the 'chapters' are very long and drawn out and whats with that damn music!? YUK! I tend to have it on in the background rather than sit and watch it
  10. I too am scared of heights. Get me on a wobbly ladder, rooftop or cliff edge and id be shaking like a leaf. Jump out of a plane... no problem. Its like stepping into a beautiful (but loud) painting. Might explain why I have problems with my landings though!
  11. I agree, looked very slow and steady. For a moment you wouldnt have even realised was only one wheel.
  12. Yes.. the people in this thread.... http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1944301;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread and this one... http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1944341;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread
  13. Those pics been around a while but still funny as hell! Thanks for giving me a laugh
  14. Furthur update... Another one in custody, hopefully its one of the custody areas that doesnt have CCTV.
  15. Bit of both, I hate the run up to christmas and all the running around getting stuff for people, decorations and things like that but I love the actual 3 day window xmas eve, xmas day and boxing day. Its a good family time and whilst im not the child whos centre of attention anymore I like watching my nephews go hyper over the whole thing
  16. Never heard of coraframs, eh? Polished shoes...what a crock of retarded shit. I knew someone would say something like that. Or have your shoes painted or laquered or put varnish on them. Sometimes you have to/want to do things properly. If you havent got the patience and self discipline to sit down and do a bit of hard work thats your way, but it aint mine
  17. No probs buddy, Ignore all that hairdryer shit and just use the old fashioned elbow grease method...
  18. Plenty of shoe polish (not the stuff that contains parafin) First few layers need to be really REALLY thick to take out any imperfections in the surface. Then polish them using a cloth. Keep the cloth ever so sligtly damp. ie wet it on your tongue then buff like a bastard for hours! There is no short cuts unfortunately. After this stage lots of small layers will soon get it to a state of shine! (like 4 hours each) Do not use a brush or liquid polish or any of that crap. Try this for a more detailed explanation... http://www.hotboots.com/polish.html
  19. Stick with a topic you enjoy and have knowledge of. Skydiving if it fits. Being passionate about something and seeing someones enthusiasm is contagious. Just dont mention intitial costs
  20. You might find this link interesting for police perspective... http://www.policespecials.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=32026
  21. Yeah, as I thought. Im a special constable and went on patrol on my second duty witha brand spanking new proabtioner officer. We had a good time and stayed away from what sounded like grief. I believe this kind of call is considered routine and its a quick way of getting a tick in the box to show youve checked a premises after alarm activation, all part of the PDP!
  22. With my experience I have to say there is no way these officers were deployed to a robbery (armed or not) of any sorts on their own on purpose. This sounds like a tragic accident of either stumbling across a situation and not being prepared for it or what could well have been a simple panic alarm call. THe amount of intruder alarms/panic alarms received daily in one area is very high and 90% of the time they are false alarms. Cleaners activated alarms, member of staff pressed it in error etc. I suspect there was no reason for the attention of armed officers at this point. However in true police fashion and enquiry will be held and an informed decision wil be made as to what went wrong and how it can be prevented again. As much as I dont like it, maybe in this incident the routine arming of every police officer may have helped as they would have been better equipped. However armed incidents are very low in the UK despite what the media says.
