These arent just any kids...I see this little girl on a daily basis. I didn't go over to see her yesterday and she was mad at me. Her mom called me on the way home and wouldn't tell me the outcome because she said her daughter wanted to tell me. She walks through the door and is proud to show me her cast and sling. (future skydiver) She says it doesnt hurt at all and I tuck her in to bed. I have to leave after that. She is the coolest little girl, really. I still feel like shit. On my 2nd beer. --

I took two of my girl friends kids to little league football practice today because one had surgery and one was painting the house. I took ones 7 yr old daughter too to keep her out of her hair. I follow these kids around and never let them out of my sight. After practice, they all wanted to play on the jungle gym. I was watching one when I see the little girl swing from a rung of the monkey bars and fall face first from horizontal at about 4 ft. I was 2 ft away and immediately pick her up....She holds up her right arm and I immediately know it is broken. I get someone to take the one kid home and drive to Baylor Medical Center...... I have to make the incredibally difficult call to her mom to meet us at the hospital...After she fell, I grabbed her forearm and it went back into place. She cried for a while but on the way to the hospital she stopped crying and there was no swelling so I thought I might be imagining things. I took the son home so he could go to bed and stayed there waiting. They get home and her arm is in a temp cast and both bones are broken and she has to go see the orthopedic tomorrow. I am sick to my stomach. I know that it is in no way my fault but I am about to throw up. It happened on my watch. If she has to have surgery, it will make me even more sick. I wont sleep tonight. Im on my first beer. --

Christ people....... Our Government is better at rescuing and helping the ignorant masses than any government in the world. Everyone blames FEMA for a slow response. How about being greatful for any response at all?????? Does India have a FEMA?? Nagin is a corrupt idiot, Blanco is incompetent, and Bush probably truly feels like the a lot of us.....that they were too stupid to help themselves and with thir murder rate, welfare and lack of morals...that they were a drain on society anyway. This was a storm of epic proportions. I label it under "shit happens". The fact that it hit a bunch of worthless pieces of shit too stupid and morally corrupt to help themselves (in turn decided to hurt themselves) makes it seem all the worse for the liberals. I think of the event like a modern day Gamorrah. Even the fucking cops showed their true colors, go looting instead of saving lives. I am pissed that so many of my tax dollars are going to be spent to rebuild another worthless strain on my tax dollars.....Another welfare state. --

Prothro's broken leg was sick to see.....especially that last view they showed. I lived withing a stones throw of Bryant Denny Stadium for 3 years. I cant imagine how crazy Tuscaloosa was last night. RRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLL TIDE ROLL! -

I am watching the Petit Lemans at Road Atlanta and they just had a nice skydiving pice on Gunnar Jeannete http://www.gunnarjeannette.com/ Do any other racers skydive? I heard that F1 test driver Alexander Wurz participated in some of the big ways.... Anyone know anyone else? --

Has anyone seen a skydive in mid-air captures on Google Earth? I just looked at Perris...there appears to be a small plane on the runway (TriPacer?) and a Otter in the loading area. I dont see any skydivers under canopy..... Search your DZ......See if anyone is caught in mid-air. --

If anyone saw the NASCAR race last weekend, Robby Gordon threw his helmet at Michael Waltrip. He got fined but he put the helmet for bid on eBay and is going to donate the proceeds to Katrina. However, in the last hour, the bidding has gone from $100,000 to over $5,000,000...Surely this is people screwing around....Not real funny considering where the proceeds are going. Thats because the Tsunami victims acted with more respect, dignity and class than our own citizens. Help was MUCH later reaching the Tsunami victims than the Katrina victims. The Tsunami's helped themselves until help arrived. They took care of their dead, didn't loot on the FIRST day of the disaster, didn't rape and kill each other... But that is because they don't have a government and a society that has created a welfare state that raises people totally incapable of doing ANYTHING for themselves. They were on their own in poverty before the wave. The real problem I have is, while not everyone down there looted or raped, they all stood by idly while everyone else did. I think that makes them just as guilty. I don't think of them as 'black' either. All of my black friends say there is no way they would let these people stay with them. All my black friends are at the same economic and social level as me too, making my belief that this is an economic and social disaster, not a race issue. (although it hits the African American community the hardest by far) Whos fault is it? There is blame to go all around. Poverty, whis is a big disgrace in America, perpetuates it. The passed down lack of morals and abbhorrent social behaviors perpetuates it. Is there an answer? Im sad to say I don't think there is. --

I have a 401K, Company Pension and Railroad Retirement. As it stands now, I will make MORE money retired than I do now. My company is making money hand over fist right now too. But, I pay attention to history and I would be a fool to think I will have anything but what I have in my 401K and savings in 30 years. THE MAN will find a way to steal it from me. --

My Dad is a retired 777 Capt. for DL. He stands to lose about $7,000 a month if his pension gets turned over to the PGCB....(which it will)..... Nobody's retirement is safe. --

I am bothered by the entire Katrina mess but to blame it one one entity (racism, Bush, FEMA) is illogical. This was a collosal failure at all levels and it was a colossal failure years ago. I have spent more time driving around lost in DC than I have doing anything else.....I show up at the Udsvar Hazy Museum after 2 hours on the beltway at 5 pm and it was just closing......We went to some dive bar to let traffic die down,,,,,,,We did have fun but we should have stayed in Texas.....
