    You can pack it all you want to, you just can't seal it, or jump it. Edit: Not that I recommend it.

    I guess I'm not used to this "anything goes" thing with canopies. If I showed up at my DZ with a Stiletto 170, they'd first laugh, and then slap me around a bit. I've been demo'ing alot of canopies lately, and hanging a few up at the DZ to put them on risers, etc, and honestly I can't think of one of those times where an instructor/experienced jumper didn't ask what it was I was hooking up. I guess I've just always assumed people looked out for each other when it comes to this stuff, which is why the whole chart thingy never made much sense to me.

    The one mentioned on ebay had hard housings, but I think there was a service bulletin that had something to do w/ the ripcord housing being tacked.

    PM riggerrob, I think he used to work for them. The one I've seen was pretty similar to a talon, but had some funky riser covers. Edit: I got bored and looked it up on ebay. Based on the pictures it looks like it's in great shape

    It's possible, but ending up @ 1.1 on a 230 after 100 jumps isn't "Black Death" as the chart describes either.

    I was at medium risk in your chart on my first Aff jump, and was at "High risk" by the time I had my A. If people are going to be expected to follow the chart, the requirements at least need to be reasonable.

    Give it some time - it is a probability thing after all.... Besides the 'Red line' demarcation is the Germain rule: 0.1 per 100 jumps increment. The probability of "black death" for jumpers at 1.1 is pretty damn low, Jan. Virtually non existent, even. These threads would be more useful without such hyperbole. Yep. I guess I'm going to have to go find a 260 for the next 6 jumps, as my "Black Death" 230 at just under 1.1 isn't survivable until I have 100 jumps. I guess I could just stick to a 280 so it's only a "medium risk". So should I buy a Navigator or a Navigator?
