  5. hey mike, did you hang on the rears or did you give them a quick plane out jab like you would on a crossfire... just wondering... D edited to fix my premature ejaculation like spelling which was piss poor http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.

  7. I am a fan of pleark or wosure or one of em actually the answer is usually work pleasure jumps, where I am working on things and it just gels together cheers Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.

  9. pack your tipper D http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  10. I would give icarus a chance, I just had an AWESOME customer service experience with them, and can truly say that I was shocked having heard for years that the icarus customer support system was terrible... see if you can get a demo of a crossfire, the openings are beautiful....and the landings are long and getting back from a long spot is fairly easy.... cheers Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  11. I love my 24's it was a subtle change from the 21's but the biggest thing I noticed about it was starting the turn from full arm extension was easier than from partially bent arms I have about 100 jumps on em now on a crossfire 2 129 and 119 btw I have flown 18's 20's 21's and 24's Cheers Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  12. yeah me mum totally still hits me with the look when I talk about skydiving so I try not to... and I only had to move 50 miles away ;-) but my father on the other hand loves the idea of it, in fact any time he sees me skydiving he tells me about acommercial he shot with the golden knights for an Army commercial in the 80s cheers Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  13. 100 a week, but anything I make at the dropzone tends to go back into it, so last weekend I made and extra 230 packing and that is goign back into my jumping... and I am getting my coach ratings Find supplemental skydiving money Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  14. is she the hanger or the deployer in their wet dreams???? But seriously, I did one when I had abotu 120 jumps, and was the deployer, I had a safire 179 at the time and it went great...watching the person do a back layout off my toes was pretty cool as well... but we got lucky in our stupidity for the time being anyway.... 15. I would have thought that any canopy that is given enough time and height would be able to level out without any input??? Is this no true? certainly not a katana 120 loaded at 1.8 will not it comes out of the turn and continues at the ground in a really extreme way UNTIL you correct that by pitchign it up... I am sure there are other canopies that do it, but this is the only one I have flown.... 16. That is a kindda interesting. I happen to read his book of canopy piloting. I have a canopy with positive recovery arc. So? If I a bit lower about/dig it out, if I a bit higher extend the dive a bit. having just taken his advanced cnaopy course, I would say that it is not a waste of energy and that if done properly it will give you further swoops... what I do is give a strong tap off the rears to plane the canopy and then release to no input for a good 100ft and then move to toggles slowly.. this is what brian had reccomended to me in person in his course... 17. Mykel, I had a great friend who was a competitive clyclist... one day his back started hurting... he had multiple back surgeries and couldnt ride at all... he had such a hard time with it he felt his life was over... he was on pain killers every day for 4 years to deal with the pain... then one day someone reccomended pilates to him and he gave it a shot... he now rides in excess of 400 mjles a week again... so dont give up hope brother, the human body is an amazing thing.... and cheers to you for being a great example on this site and passing great words of wisdom onto others Cheers Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  18. and to all you jagoffs who keep saying that we need to learn belly skills to be safe... freeflying in its truest form requires that you can belly fly as it is FLIGHT ON ALL ORIENTATIONS... and to all you freefliers who dont know this...learn it... a dive plan from the other day... exit 3 way star sidebody star sit round sit compressed accordian the guys in nationals showed some amazing freeflying that incorporated all axis flight including belly flying in thier routines... 19. mine was a hybrid which was an eight way hybrid four flat, four hanging, showing that I have belly skills enough to fly to my slot and take grips and that I could turn a point by switching to the stand. Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  20. did you add the six inches from stock? or is it just six in ches of slack before you notice tail deflection? Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  21. or maybe your brakes are set wrong causeing your rudders to fly above the canopy more than expected in design... so that when you pull down on the right toggle you are actually returning that brake to the neutral setting and the other side is set in a negative setting causeing the turn. Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  22. when it is new and slippery it slides in the bag easier Thanks to uncle iggy for that awesome statement... Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  23. yes it is goigjn to increase speed signifigantly as you are increasign your pitch with there for changes the angle of attack of the cnaopy allowing it to fly faster to the ground. http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  24. I always offer free packing lessons to people at my home dropzone, people always seem to have issues with certain aspects, and I am always willing to show some tips or something (as a packer) in fact last night I helped someone out with packing cause he was having some issues cheers Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  25. I am updating my review as I have just bought a 119 crossfire 2 and sold my 129. I flew the demo for about 2 weeks and loved everything about the canopy, it flew awesome, dove amazingly and swooped really far for a non crossbraced canopy. this canopy will most likely be the cnaopy that I fly for years to come, and when I had a small issue, the customer support was second to none in the industry. I am truly pleased with the canopy, and with the company that I am dealing with , Thanks Icarus!
