Shameless plug for Joe B. & MEL.
dharma1976 replied to diablopilot's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Having talked to Mel the other day I can vouch for the fact that his email isnt working try dropping him a line via the phone and see what happens Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing. -
there is usually more to this on sabre2s in the pack job check to see if you are rolling the TAIL too much what you will notice is if you do roll it too much you are pulling one set of D lines more than the other and that can cause that asymetrical opening as well Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.

I was told the other day that I apparently got out at 1200 feet when the pilot told us we could exit he was starting his first leg of approach and said anyone want to get out by the time I exited we had gone from 2K to 1200 which I did not realize.... but once I sw the ground I did... tracked up line of flight dunped in track box and kick kick kick kick...damn line twists...actually it cam e out quick... then stowed slider while steering with harnerss set up and stil had time for a nice 90 degree turn and decent turf surf... what I learned...I dont like getting out below 2K Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.

Ranch Pond Swoop Meet Re-scheduled!!!!
dharma1976 replied to johnny1488's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
you know I will be there again, I had a blast this weekend on our three rounds Cheers Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing. -
I recently had the pleasure of taking over a packjob for someone who jumps a velocity...of course like an idiot I didnt check the brakes to see if they were set... then I went and jumped with the guy...it was an interesting opening to see... I wondered why he pulled lower than we had discussed, but after talking to him on the ground he said that he was wondering why his slider wasnt coming down and why it wsa dancing like crazy until he realized that he was in full flight and pumped the toggles... oops he said it was a very scary opening Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.

I sold a lot of stuff on ebay and ate a lot of tortillas and cheese to get into the sport now it is not as expensive as I fly random camera slots and make money on the weekends packing and stuff Cheers Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.

yeah getting small will change your position relative to the canopy and let you stay forward in the window allowing for longer distance I definately agree with that but as far as harness input from said same definately not Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
-
from what I can tell from what everyone has said here before that it does not affect the canopy flight but it certainly can look mooth man Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.

I jsut had the guy paypal me the money after my rigger (Sonic) inspected it and talked to his rigger... I have sold a bunch of gear on drop zone and only accept paypal as both a security to me and the buyer. wait once I accepted a USPS money order from someone who I talked to on IM a lot before saying yes... as a packer I will say this... if I pack a cutaway, the user is generally refunded the 6 bucks for the pack job.... there was one pack job for a video guy that I gave him the entire day for free....and still recieve shit from him for that (in a good natured way fyi) I generally dont have to use either policy and most people tip me accordingly cause I look out for em (replace full bags of rubber bands when I feel neccesairy etc) shit when I had a "customer" (also a friend as our dropzone is very tight knit) hurt herself on a landing I refused payment for any of her packjobs for the day even though both she and her boyfriend kept trying to give me money....but then again packing isnt my main form of income so maybe that explains it... thats my 2 cents... how about you read brian germains book buy it here http://bigairsportz.com/publishing.php#parachute its "A Parachute and its Pilot" and had the most effect on my canopy piloting outside of spending 3 days with brian himself. this is just a way for people to learn more about their canopies...most people stick to the turn left turn right flare action... its good for people to think about things like flaring with rears could have saved my buddies ankle the other day Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing. -

dharma1976 replied to dharma1976's topic in Events & Places to Jump
hey all I am trying to get night jumps together for Skydive Sussex. It seems that we need at least 10 people and as of now I have like 4... The jump would be occcuring close to the New Jersey STate fair so you will get to see all the crazy carnival lights kicking and lots of mullets or at least get to see the perty lights ANyway contact me here or by PM if you are interested Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing. -
oh the politics of it all... how about we all do this, lets jump canopies that we like to jump try things and see if we like em... peoples infighting across like 3 oceans really doesnt concern me Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
-
yeah I do the thing that marks said, I get my leg straps down a bit....then if I really want to crank a harness turn here is what I do initiate the turn with harness and apply even toggle strok about shoulder height it will speed up the turn a bit... Cheers Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
