Zennie, it looks leggit to me... its in the same format then the other flight characteristics docs on the PD web site. The fact that its not on the PD site does not means it's not from them... we all know delays are possible (right Lisa? lol) Remi

Soem additional comments... The DZs at Hawaii do have a relatively small landing area, but nothing extreme. Both of them are located side by side at the north end of Ohahu (the island of Honolulu) and that's correct, its a 45 to 1 hour car ride to there from Honolulu. Empuria in Spain : can be cold in winter (check out http://www.onlineweather.com/v4/world/europe/Spain/climate/Barcelona.html) but it's an awsome place... and yea... the girls have got awsome behinds... If you have a bit of time, I'd second Wingnut's suggestion with Europe... Lots of DZs, maybe a bit more expensive, but lots more to do then just jumping if the weather craps out... Remi

Hi Ninja. PFF is the Canadian program. It starts with 3 or 4 IADs form low (3,500), then you go to 12,500 (or 9,500 depending where and wht type of plane you have) and do a couple or 2 on 1 jumps, then 1/1s, then solos... etc.. except for the start, its pretty much like AFF AFF is the US program. Your 1st jump will be from 12,500 with a 2 on 1 (no IADs, or Static Lines required). There's a new program in the US (dont know the accronym) that is based on AFF but starts with one or two Tandems. I think this program is also offered in at least 1 DZ in Canada. Remi PS: BEER

Any advice for a low-timer at Quincy?
RemiAndKaren replied to RedBull's topic in Safety and Training
JUMP UR ASS OFF!!!!! Seriously... (well as serious as one can get at Quincy) my view is from 2 trips, the last one was 4 years ago... My 1st trip there was at about the same number of jumps you have now. I ended up doing the organized loads with the Muff Bros (they had 2 groups, I was in the lower timers)and I really enjoyed it (who 75 jump person wouldnt like doing 12 ways!). Be prepare for some zoos... And please track flat, for your own sake... I did a Skidive U type package of 10 jumps before going not to look to stupid/dangerous in freefall... Canopy traffic is not as huge a problem if you come from a large plane DZ: there is only 1 plane at a time that drops. However, you will be probably jumping with bigger groups then your used to, so it might be an issue. In any cases, track far and flat, and keep your eyes opened under canopy (these are golden rules no matter where) As far as Must do jumps, - the choppers are awsome (so is the ride to altitude!), - the biplane is really kwel (and allthough I didn't know about it at the time, I heard you can bribe the pilot for some aerobatics!); - jumping from the 727 is nice, but the ride up in it and the energy you feel for the load of people in there is 2nd to none! (ear to ear grinning); very worth it for that excitement... - didnt do the ballon, but its one thing i reaaaaly wanna do... but who wants to get up at 5AM!!! - and the connie was special! Now THATS a prop blast! - Try some CRW if you want; they'll have canopies and excellent coaches/organizers (and back then, I wasn't charged a dime for the canopy or the 1 on 1 and 4 way coach jumps) Dunno about the bombers and other planes, they werent around when I went. All and all, jumping is jumping; what makes Quincy special is all the funky planes, the different stuff you can try, and the people you meet... Have fun! Remi -
What a scoop Grogs! Thx Remi

I dont have it bookmarked, but there is a guy based in the UK who organises boogies, and he does one each year in the Czech Rep (I think...). Its the same organiser that does the Dubai boogies (again, I think). Try a search on that... They might have more general info... As for Amsterdam, I hear the Banana Bar is a fine establishement, allegedly.... (hehehe) PS: Prague is supposed to be a very beautifull city too (never been) Remi

Both my wife and I have Pro Ditters (I know I know, not the same) but the batteries last less then a year on 'em... and the case: well, mine is all cracked up, and its going to the manufacturer as soon as I gat a chance and take the time to do it... We bought them pretty much as they came out (must have been December 97). Remi

Dont know... but, since I'm opinionated! First, full disclosure: I have a BOC, and I prefer them. I think most problems come from going from one type of equipment to another... If a student is properly trained on a pull out, and he sticks with that type of system, then great! Same thing for BOCs.... Thats why I dont like to see student rigs based on systems that will not be used by the students when they get their own rigs: SOS, ripcords, etc... However, I've never seen/noticed any POD student rigs before, but ya never know!

Both Karen and I have a Life policy in Canada with London Life with no penalty caused by skydiving (both at the lowest rate) Same deal in the UK with, with, WITH WHO DAMMIT.... cant remember. CNU I think...

Skeamer! we should all do our part in limiting the disk space HH has to rent on the DZ server...! Next time, you dont need to specified the piss head part.. we all know what South Africans are like...

All Right Hellian!! And for the POD/BOC controversy... man.. how many time do we have to go through this!!! lol There are serveal threads about that in the gear forum.. have a search... Some like one, some like the other; some swear by one, some swear by the other...

Ben's correct. Espace is the name of the Boogie. This year, its happening at Lapalisse. Usually it hapens in Vichy. Theres no DZ at Vichy, but they setup something for the Boogie.... Karen and I went last year and managed 45 and 48 jumps respectively in the 8 days we were there... The facilities at Lapalisse are supposed to be awsome... And cant wait to jumps from the 42 place Turbine DC3!!!! (man that guy/gal who exits 42nd is gonna have one helllll of a swoop!!!!!!! Remi

I was a little scared to open that link at work... coming from Emma, with her being so obsessed with sex... BUT This is IMPORTANT stuff.... we must all take the time to do this....

I knew that I'd get some of that!! And yes, for the record, my wife has a fine butt!!! So do some British girlies (Emma: if the pants fit, wear'em ), but I STAND by my statement...

Its a newsgroup. You need a newsgroup reader for that (at least I think....). Outlook express does the job, but you need your Net provider to allow Newsgroup (say, if you're a naughty boy and use your corporate connection for this, you may not have access to NGs)..

Well, all I can say is based on my personnal taste (and the taste of every single man I've had this discussion with): Spanish girls have the nicest asses in the Western world.... DONT FLAME ME!!! there are other women, from other parts of the world, that have very nice behinds too... BUT AS A GROUP, nothing beats Spain IMHO.... Dont ask me how they feel: I'm a married man!!! I'm pretty sure every manufacturer has its own system... so you'll need to contact them individually... or call a dealer that does the different models you are looking for.
