Poor Em... Damm those wuffos.. must they turn naked skydiving into a lust filled voyeur session!!!!!!!!!! Cant they be like us, who would not look twice if they saw naked women as it is nothing but the most natural thing.... Remi PS: before anybody beats me to it... BULLSHIT... hehehe

hehehe... did you get any jumps in last weekend Ben? Karen and I did the un-thinkable: a quiet weekend at home sleeping in.... the weekend didnt look too good on Saturday AM. and it looked like a good decision... Sure hope to get in the air next week en now....

Paddy, is it a Dytter or a Pro-Dytter ? The Dytter worked for ever on a set of batteries, but the volume of the beeps went downhill with older batteries....

LOL@Ben Ben: maybe the slightly less smooth surface of tongues would prove more soothing....

Guys, although some opening problems CAN be attributed to poor packing, it doesnt mean that all of them are.... The PC briddle thing.. yea.. perhaps its due to poor packing (probably is, but not being there, I'm not sure). The hard openings and line twists, not so sure... a poor body position will account for lots of those (hard to tell from 5,000 miles away what it was in these cases, but carefull before putting blame on someone). And Speedy: if once the canopy is opened, you're the one that is still spinning, is it remotely prossible that the twists were put in, not by the canopy, but by your body? Remi

Hi Phreezone, good tip, but when did freeflyers invent relaxation?

Ben, MM, I think you are both wrong. The best way to learn is to be thrown in to the deep end as fast as possible.... My recommendation: go the the local airport and find a Pilot who wants to log in lots of time (preferably one with limited experience so you can tell him" do it this way.. Of course.. thats how every good Skydiving pilot does it"). Find a backyard long enough to do nice swoops in (doesnt need to be very wide as all is required is the width of your canopy - read next point) Then go online, find some used gear (preferably something small - sub 100 sq foot works best read previous point - as to not be unconfortable in the plane and not having to downsize to a 46 sq foot for at least a couple dozen jumps) practice pulling low (we all do at boogies) and master the art of "deployment while tumblimg over and over and over" that will be really usefull when you decide to get into FF... alternatively, have the pilot throw watermelons at you after exit to simulate RW big way divers overswooping.... This training method will ensure that if you succeed, you will, not only have lots of usefull skills, but also the required luck to survice anything.... Remi PS: Run any advice past you JM's... especially mine....

Hey Michele, I know its not something you ask a lady.. hehehe..but what are you weight and height?

Man!!!! Sure has changed from the 1st time I went ... I'm sure I can remember Carbone MC'ing the wet T shirt contest... and I'm sure I can remember him starting to use scissors on various parts of the T shirts...... PS: sure hope it wasnt sis who got arrested! lol.... might explain why we havent heard from her!

Not to mentioned the 1st reserve ride (the first without the second would not have been the same).... Congrats on handling it! Feels good to know that if the shit hits the fan, you know how to react, dont it!

???? ur kidding, right!?!?!? there's still electronic and garment manufacturing left in the US???

First, I hope her situation is improving. But lets not make too many assumptions here.. all we (at least I) can go by is a quote in the mainstream media saying "high performance" and " 90 degree turn". This is the same report that said 500 to 600 jumps makes an advanced jumper. I consider myself quite intermediate at 700. This is way too little info to declare the cause of the incident. She may have been jumping a square which in the mind of the reporter, is a high performance canopy. And lets be clear: you dont need a Stiletto (or insert you favorite swooping canopy here) loaded at 2.0 to hurt yourself bad with a low turn... All that being said, good thoughs to the hurt jumper... Remi

Justin, do a quick search on that.. there has been a few threads on the subject in the last couple of months..... I think it was in the Safety/Training forum.... Remi

Good point.. dont want to make ambiguous statements: I tried to contact Parasport Italia (the manufacturer).

Have fun from 45,000 Feet! LOL And buying a house in France will probably be a very sound skydiving investment: think about it, i'll be soooo easy to gain weight from all the good food, no more new canopies for downsizing! Remi (who's already tired of the boiled beef and deep fried mars bars after 1 week back in Sunny England)

Hi Stevie, thx! took me a while to find it... From the Pare net web site: 1 carreau électronique avec cible en mousse Which means electronic accuracy pad: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH S&A DZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just kidding.... might still be a nice place.... PS: Empuria aint that far from the border you know PPS: in which (or close to which) town did you get a place?

Also, you can actually find the jedei manual online.... http://www.eco.utexas.edu/faculty/Faulkner/skydive/jedei/cover.html Actually it was the 1st manual that explained high performance landing (that I know of)... page 11

Ben, since this is a moderated forum, I wont stoop to the depths you demonstarted here... Be carefull. A 1.4 to 1.5 wingload is starting to be quite aggressive.... not telling you to go one way or the other, but just be carefull....

Dont tell Parachute de France this.. its pretty much their standard config....
-
mmm... this all puts the reputation of the original Sabre in perspective..... doens't it?
-
Of COURSE its from the plane Skreamer, where ELSE could something like that come from..... Man... these guys and their new rigs, they sure do take things to extreme.... PS: we bought some "Shout" wipes for use on stains, and its really usefull for day to day (or week to week) cleaning of our rigs.... takes off the small dirt stains pretty well...

Not having persoannly owned a Jav before, I'm not 100% sure of this, but damm close to 99%.... the J-3 is simply the size of the container: it defines what size reserve and main can fit in there. By knowing the rig is a Javelin J-3, all you know is that its a Javelin of a perticular container size (have a look at the Gear section and go the Sun Path web site and look it up for the details). What you should find out is what's it DOM (date of manufacturing), its harness and yoke size (thi will tell you if its for a small or large person), and a lot more details on it. Jav were and still are very popular rigs.

i think you have to buy the mag.. not worth it just for that article, but if you like technology in general, Wired if a damm good mag (IMHO)

Some times you get jaded.. forget how special it is.. then sometime, some jumps stand out... I remember one jump in particular last year, just after churning some 50 jumps at Espace. We were back in glorious Britain and were doing a 4 way at Hinton. I was front foat and on the exit it really felt sureal....peeling off the plane and lookinbg at the others... maybe it was because we overdosed on tailgates, or something else, but it made me grin from ear to ear.. and after the jump, Karen told me she had the same feeling too....

Where is Pamier? I'm pretty sure I've never jump there (since I dont know where the heck it is), but I'm curious....
