my thought upon reading your intital post was,,, WHy can't you jump if you're NOt cypres equipped???? we see thread after thread where the discussion arises, and there are many many in our community who have made thousands of jumps without one..... But then you explain later, that you have agreed to a course of action, whereby you won't jump without one... As a Father, i very much admire, your adherance to your word....

well the current G O P admin...has a Puppet president, and a VP who does things behind the scenes.. the 'new wave' G O P is going for a puppet Vice Pres....( one who just reiterates the written words of Pro speech writers) hell there are thousands of people , men and Women, who coullda stood at that podium and READ those words....No doubt the breifing before the speech, incuded recommendations of when to "punch up the embellishment" and how to roll her eyes, at the right moments.. For the Repubs. to think so Little of Democrat voters, that they believe supporters of H Clinton, will FLOCK to McCain, simply because he has a woman VP.. is further evidence of their disconnect, to the heart and soul of ALL voters.. Maybe the G O P thinks that since the population at large, sat back and allowed the BUSH Debacle to occur,,, that we ( all of us ) are just idiots, who respond with knee-jerk reactions, and can be led around like a horse on a tether..... being offered what THEY think, is a carrot on a stick..... opening a main, then cutting it away, and going to a reserve would simulate the real thing... but does leave you,, with an unreleasable canopy, and if anything goes south,,,, real problems.. if on the other hand the plan is to simply deploy the reserve instead of the main.... still sounds shaky...... if you haven't yet experienced a terminal speed opening on a reserve, i and likely others, can attest to the fact that they could be considered "slammers"... wouldn't wanna do that,, except in a real emergency ( terminal speed opening). save the wear and tear on yourself.... AND the canopy.... a hop and pop low speed deployment of the reserve, seems much better,, but again.. WHY??? i get the idea, of wanting to fly a reserve, but stay patient and develop the frame of mind,, that when the time comes.....you WILL be ok in following through on your EPs... if not... maybe stay ground bound. gotta go... for some reason.... i have a strong urge to make myself a tuna sandwich jmy

when i started shooting video the sony camcorders i used were 8mm tapes, ( actually Hi 8 ).. i still have the camcorders... which could be used to output INto a mini dv camcorder with bypass,,, and cable OUT of the mini dv unit, and into the recording deck... it's mostly about if one has the old components to do it...check with some of your long ago video people to see if they have such equip.. (example,,, CCD TR81, CCD TR500) ( sony) good luck jimmy

Exactly... john King ( Kinger) first began operating a Queen Air in the early 90's...when his DZ was maybe 10 years old.... HE flew it himself, and had MAYBE 2 other pilots, to whom he would entrust the controls,,,when needed... There was a real good following of RW types then, who would enjoy getting together there, and making a bunch of jumps ... Kinger is a long time 'wrench' man, ( also and A & P, and an inspector ) and was very diligent in his care of the plane...i don't recall any emergencies with it,, but i could be wrong,,, ( my kids were little then, and my jumping was slightly curtailed during those years ) but i made many dozens of jumps out of it..... the running joke,,, during boarding procedures, was for some smart ass to ask loudly,,, " Ok who is carrying the fire extinquisher"???/..... (apparently) the engines were said to be succeptible to flashing a bit,,, at start up... as stated,,, the left seat in that aircraft is Not for the novices, or those unaccustomed to "taking care of business" should it be needed... kinger would be a good source of Honest and accurate assessment of that aircraft as a jumpship.... P s he doesn't have one, on line anymore....so that might tell you something... jmy

my point is that in this case it would be a woman....Joe biden nor any other V P who followed a death of a sitting pres. has been a woman... HAD Geraldine Ferraro and mondale won... and SHE filled the slot... THAT would have been MUCH different than This... agreed??? cause the electorate Knew... going in.... that mondale coullda died ,while in office.. At that time in our history,, it would have been an appropriate and acceptable way for it to happen... and then perhaps the next term she WOULD have been ELECTED as a Pres. .... or not..... In fact i heard Ms Palin use words of that very nature within 24 hours of the announcement of her having been selected. I M H O , it is wrong on McCains' part and the G O P , to attempt to create a scenario whereby ( against all sanity, and common good for this country, ) If his ticket were to prevail in Nov,,, the person who could possibly ascend to the presidency as the 'first Woman president' would be someone, UNELECTED to that SPECIFIC office,,, by the general public... I can see the possibility of This Rep. candidate, for Pres, not living 4 more years, ( for whatever reason), and would find it to be a slap in the face to all the FINE and patriotic women who serve and have served in our state and national government(s) for as far back as Susan B Anthony ( how about a shout Out for Rochester NY !!! ) , up through and including Leaders like Shirley Chisolm, Barbara Jordan, Senators Boxer , Pelosi, H Clinton, and many many other loyal and public minded women, to be forced to watch what i would assess, as a "newbie" to politics,,( namely this woman from Alaska, ) ascend to that office, through the path which the G O P , is orchestrating.... It'd be different if the choice had been Eliz. Dole, or hell, Shirley Temple, for all i care,,, or ANY other better proven, better tested, washington DC veteran, or state legislative representative with waaay more than 8 or 10 years "experience"... i see in this Palin,,,,,, a former 'big hair' newscaster, who went ahead to become mayor of a small town, ( happens all the time) and then , for whatever reasons, got elected as governor... of a state with a little over half the population of the state of Rhode Island, and about 100 times the land area...the absolute WRONG person to step into the Role of First Woman POTUS......that's all.... well okay,, maybe NOT the absolute worst,,,, but i can sure think of many many others who are more deserving, of the chance... Women from Both Parties... As for her election as governor, well in a state with lots of dudes,,,a 'beauty queen type' could very well win the majority vote, on looks ALONE...agreed???? anyway... it's not her place to be in the position, whereby she realistically could attain the role of President.. this isn't a damn popularity contest, nor a joke... nor a referendum on guns, and abortion. it's a serious situation in which the current undeniable damage, inflicted on this country by the bush administration, must be recognized, and undone.. It won't be easy and I wouldn't want the job, and will never understand why ANYone would....... it's not so much that i have anything against McCain , himself... turkey vulture by the looks of it...in the second pic... ugly on the ground or when on a perch but BEAUTIFUL when in flight... excellent gliders. the red tail hawk is a bit more "boxy" in shape and i think, has a lighter colored head.. It's head is also bigger in proportion to it's body, than the t vulture... WHERE was the pic taken A. Copland??? jmy

Crew dive.. two stack into a biplane into a solid footing of the upper jumper on the shoulders of the lower jumper, at which point, the upper canopy is cutaway...( make sure there is NO rsl) Now comes the tough part..... staying ON the lower person, throughout the descent,,, ( i'd be scared shitless ) but that's one way of doing it, ( cutaway and land under someone elses main) jmy

Then when the fuel ran out, the rotor blades were able to "reverse pitch' and as the descent began, a trip mechanism would simultaneously flip the side door Up

first of all....... take ALL the money you HAVE.. put it in a big pile, and KISS it Good-Bye!!!!!!!! hahahahahah... truth is. if you have committed and dedicated teammates, and can get together , often, then just share a bunch of 4 way jumps. working with personalites that mesh, will result in greater performances and growth, than will simply finding the BEST . jumpers you can... have fun stay safe jmy

Larch..... a true Pine Tree.... and an interesting Conifer, in that each fall the needles turn light brown, and fall off.... leaving the tree looking like it was dead... The next spring However,,, New growth, light green and soft soft soft needles,,, re-emerge to create a dignified Pine tree... it seems to put out small acorn sized pinecones each season... I planted a number of seedlings of this type of tree, about 20 years ago and now have specimens which are taller than 20 feet, and which started out as a "twig" and now have a trunk which is nearly a foot in diameter. Also called a Tamarack Pine...
