  1. ..great,, thanks...This is a Large aircraft... seeing it in scale to other jump planes is very helpful...
  2. Very sleek looking airplane...May it be well received at dropzones worldwide.... ..But.... it does look like the cabin might have a Low ceiling...... Is there good head room inside..? I notice the step outside the door is low,,, like on a Porter....Will Six Footers have to stoop over,,, while inside the plane???? Are there seats? or do all jumpers sit on the floor????? What is the aircrafts capacity???.......How many jumpers???/ and as long as I'm asking so many stupidquestions... ,,, what's the rate of climb, when loaded???? thanx.. jmy
  3. hmmmm.. well if Harrys mom was a witch then wouldn't that make Her sister Petunia a witch?? .... We KNOW that Vernon Dursley is as Muggle as they come, ..... so is it tooooo far out the the realm of possibilities to think that maybe .... Dudley Dursley is the half prince??? hahahahaha "Prince Dudders"
  4. ... try not to detest ANYone..... Like him or not....M. Moore is very very good at piecing together a quick moving, thought provoking, nicely edited, and sometimes funny, "From My point of View "documentary" ".... and since it is HIS movie project,,, he may do as he likes...... Some of his props and film clips and the pace and pattern of the editing is very interesting, and as I found , effective....The film clips of Joe Friday and the dialogue from those clips... were right on... I also liked the clip of Afghanistan(sp) adapted to fit to the start of the old time show Bonanza.... Good movie making....
  5. ..... wow............ ..........very nice. well done. thanks for sharing.
  6. ....touch screens may be fine for the general consumer... but I have always done my best to keep my fingers OFF the flip out screen......control switches which light up when the camera goes into playback mode may be "old tech" but they work just fine.. I also advocate using the remote control when in playback mode,, to reduce wear and tear on the camera mounted buttons.. as for recommendations.... Sony for sure..... ........but since the models change toooo frequently it's tough ( for me ) to keep up with all the features and changes....So speak with other camera flyers,,do some research, learn ,, and then buy... jmy,,,, sony dcr-trv20.. dcr-vx1000...
  7. .... ...forget about that baloney of having the lurker stay off to the side,,,, or let them establish themselves, and the have the camera person adjust to the lurkers position..... ... If the person is NOT capable of flying quite close to the tandem,,, and doing it safely!!!! then they don't belong on the skydive.....And very often people who consider themselves "experienced", and who want to go with their friend or family member, are really NOT capable being part of a tandem jump... As a team,, the TM and I will always set up with the tandem facing the sun... The lurker can adjust... I do NOT advocate having the solo Dock on the pair,,, Unless he or she is a TM, an AFF instructor, or an experienced camera flyer.... But I would want to see the solo be positioned where BOTH the TM and I can easily see them.. If not ,, It's like videoing an incomplete skydive,,,wherein since the formation is not getting built,, ( by the process of elimination) I KNOW that there are still people " flyin' around out here" who are Unaccounted for...... I don't like surprises at deployment time,,, or at seperation time...surprises like someone under me,, or someone NOT tracking,,, or a face full of pilot chute...I can Deal with it,,,,, and I would be anticipating it... but I don't like it....... and yes... a full briefing is a great idea,,, especially with an "unknown"..... Also remember... we should try to give the benefit of the doubt to fellow jumpers,, and expect them to perform.....If they don't... then a proper post dive debrief is certainly in order... Ps.... I always defer to the TM...... who makes the decision whether the lurker comes with us or doesn't......(that's Not my job).. I can handle whatever the TM decides..... NOW>>> if someone decides to exit with a tandem, spontaneously,, and WITHOUT notifying the TM.... I'd be the first to support grounding that person,, at least for the remainder of the day... maybe more...and I would certainly get a lens full of their BAD decision,,, for evidence....
  8. yes... when I started jumping,,, I thought it was great,,, that all jumps be recorded in a log book.... ( How official!!! )..... and so I did.. and have continued doing so....It shows a certain degree of discipline, which I suppose is a good thing in this sport.... skydive safely skydive often skydive with friends
  9. ........" I was told I would be able tolistentomyradiowheniwasfilingifikeepthevolumedown ............butbutbutbut...I..I...I..haven't got my paycheck now for a while..." ...
  10. .... me too.... as a child I would bite or just tear my fingernails....allllll the time... and THAT hurts!!!!! I never knew why,,, since the pain afterwards was killer,,,, but I think I did it out of nervousness,,,, I also tried the various ointments and maybe that is when i started using one fingernail to tear the others,,, ..... I wasn't thinking about it,,, but at some point when i was in my 20s.... I noticed that i had stopped... and that I needed to Trim my nails,, with a scissors or clipper.... I was so proud of that,,,, that I just started to make the conscious effort to let them grow... even now once in a while I can find myself, with a fingertip in my mouth,,,,,but I seem to be able to resist...... for the most part....except when I get into a situation of uncertainty or nervousness,, then it can re occur.......... For sure cuticles are DAMN sensitive......and truthfully,,,, not very tastey.... try to envision yourself with nice neat nails,,, and you can make it happen......... then when you have an itch!!!! you can scratch it!!!!
  11. ... Bytchisization.... the next great trend..... ... Bytchisizator... one who follows the latest trend. .... Bytchisizational !!!....when the Bytchisizator is really cookin'....... o[:-) jmy
  12. Most of the time we stay on top of loads where there are tandems, and where the spot may wind up being long... If we see a fellow cameraperson unable to make it back to the landing area,,, we do our best to cover for her or him.... another videographer from the load ( who DOES Make it back ) or else a videographer who was NOT on the load,,, will hustle out to shoot the students' landing and post jump comments.....We ALL have cameras with firewire capability,, so as soon as the designated camera person gets a ride back,,, we will feed that footage right onto his or her camcorder,,, and they are good to go,, for editing....It's just good teamwork.... .BUT you have to be paying attention,, whenever there are tandems and vids, on a load.... p s I would agree,, that the TM should be looking to "get back" each and every time he of she has a student..... especially if that student has friends, or family who may be waiting at the DZ for the landing to be within their sight....... land the student way OFF the field.... and ALOT of those folks,,, get upset.... and then they worry.....and can come away with a less than great impression........ as for the track question,,,,,, not in the conventional way.... but I do backslide or sideslide, and let my eyes tell me when I have increased the horizontal separation to a point with which I am comfortable...
  13. ..........my timing is pretty damn good!!!! thanks for asking...

I have a photo album from a looong time ago with probably 28 or 29 of the 32 cards which I had been issued...... ( also have my scr scs nscr, POPS , 4 stack and various uspa awards...there) jmy Yes yes, I know, its CSPA
  15. Hahaha?????????? how in the world can you find that funny???????... wow.... The thing is you could see it coming...... Was that some sorta Set for a TV show ????... Bummer.. he likely smacked himself good on the floor level a few steps,, down.....as he fell past, and eventually to the lower level.... .. A conversation at the club last Sat. concerned the very subject,, of PLFing out of a work related fall.. It can be done,,, but I'd be nervous falling anything more than say 10 feet or so... My friend said He fell 16 feet and plf'd successfully,,,, though he said his ankles, " stung" pretty good..... Man ..an unexpected fall is nothing humorous. (imho)
  16. What!!!!!...... whaddaya mean?? I thought the dive was a big success.... what was the problem w/ the vid??? to answer your question... the only way to "re-shoot it" would be to make a second tandem,,, ( Not a bad idea)... However I suppose you could always "re-edit " it.... Still,, most videographers may be offended if you ask about "re-doing" a finished tape..... so please tread lightly on that issue.... After all It's really NOT about the video... It's about the skydive.... I was just wonderin' how the music choices turned out.....
