I'd think a night in the Perris jail would've given them the kind of therapy they needed... .... they still walked away.????.... Hmmmmm, somebody who trespasses,,, creates a safety concern,, acts like a jerk when confronted about it,,, returns with some "muscle",,, requires police intervention and then leaves.... is trouble.... If they are locals,,,be careful.... An Idiot like this , who may feel slighted,, is just the type who returns,, under the cover of darkness to " exact his revenge"... Consider planting some time lapse cameras, to watch the facilities,,, and for SURE monitor the aircraft....round the clock,,,, for the next few weeks..... this guy could be poison.... For all the wonderful friendships, which I bet have been made at this great drop zone..... this guy ISN'T one of 'em.... ten cuidado

.... you're right to be careful... take apart......doesn't always equate to easy... "put back together" and yes the parts ARE small... My cameras are bigger TRV series and VX,,,,, for sure the PC models are smaller... In my case jose, the lanc port was right there... upon opening the back part of the camera case......so go easy... but have some confidence too... It helps to have a couple of magnets handy as well.. Use one to hold all the tiny screws as they come out,,,, and another real small one,, to attach to your screwdriver shaft to magnetize it, and help hold the screws while you re-install them..... The owners manuals do not show an "exploded view" diagram ,,,, so try contacting a sony rep or any camcorder repair center near you and see if you can wrangle a few pages worth of such diagrams from them.....if nothing else,, they can help you to determine parts numbers and reference numbers,,, should you need to order something.. i agree... that the fees which some of these places charge,,,, are way too much... sorry i am not so familiar with the PC series...

yes....the exact thing happened on my vx-1000, from a riser strike.. i wound up having to order a new Mini pc board which carries the lanc port and the headphone port.. ... the tech suggested taking a straight pin or a needle and applying a small drop of super-glue to the tip... and touching it to the broken jack..... i was skeptical, and rightfully so...... it would not pull the pin out... ... I opened the case and was able to change out the part... ( it was I think, a 46 dollar parts order....) When i need work done on the camcorders a local place handles it,,, and since I am somewhat of a "high volume customer " they are willing to order parts for me.... Sometimes I install 'em sometime they do.... If you have a proper sized phillips screwdriver you may be able to open the case in order to access the lanc port mini pc board....You may be able to loosen it ( but be real delicate and be careful NOT to tear or disconnect any of the conductor tapes... which carry electric,,, to and from the port...),, And as aggiedave suggests.....THEN push the pin completely through..and reassemble good luck o[:-)

....what will it take for people to slow down....??? simply the understanding and realization that ..skydiving can get better and better,,, the longer we allow it to be part of our lives... We shouldn't be in such a hurry to get "there"... that we miss out,, and blow past the "here".... without completely absorbing all we can..

.... I tend to pay attention to things,,, and have developed a pretty good abilty to 'put 2 and 2 together"..... so regarding the 9- 11 hijackings, consider this..... In August of 2001,,, the energy titan Enron,, was starting to unravel....... The Bush administration's connections to Enron were well known,,,,, Field reports regarding suspicious "pilot school" students,,, and possible hijack activity were coming in from FBI field personel.... so... Is it possible that during some "closed door" upper level meeting..... it was determined that ...."maybe we should allow such a hijack to occur".... "look the other way".... because...... 1.. it will create a very good diversion, from the enron problems,,, 2. it will result in a media coverage frenzy. 3. It will be the perfect "justification" to go after "the terrorists" not only Bin laden But Saddam Hussein... as well.... and it will solidify the American public to the idea that The Bush Administration is the 'great protector" of this country... Yes Yes... I admit that it is far fetched..But I still have an idea that it could have occured... ( the meeting)..... Only problem is,, they expected a "category 1" attack and got a "category 15"..... .... so NOW they HAVE to follow up on the attitude,,, "let's get the terrorists"... and the rest is in the history books...Of course,, there is NO WAY,, they could admit,,,"we baited the hijackers" It was only well AFTER 9 - 11 -01.. that the collapse of Enron hits the newswires... and so MOST of the public,, thinks,,,, " Enron Fell because of the stock market tumble which followed 9 - 11...."..... when in truth,,,,The World trade center may have fallen,,, because of the "Enron Tumble".... hmmmm.... would our leaders play that sort of thing..... would they say,,, " so maybe we lose a plane full of people,",,, ( collateral damage)..." Hell rudder screws and horizontal stabilzer screws FAIL from time to time, and we lose 200 or more...what is one more plane crash???..".. ( I KNOW this sounds horribly cynical,,, and generally I am NOT that way.. ) but too many things are coming together here,,, for me to dismiss this possiblity... including MR. Richard Clarke's recent indication that Bush/Cheney had 'other priorities',, during the 8 months they were in office prior to sept. 01... feedback please........... jimmy
