  1. wow.... only you give " them boys" way too much credit.... I don't think Bush could plan the attack....that's quite extreme. However, why is it so hard to accept that,,, upon "receiving warnings from field office FBI personell"... regarding possible aircraft hijacking,,the powers that be,,, shrugged their shoulders,,, turned their eyes aside, and sort of just,, "let it happen".?..Remember, that administration was up to it's neck in Enron which was going down in July of 2001..were they thinking diversion??? maybe..... only problem,,, it was on a scale way above their comprehension,, and therefore was devastating.. They were looking for an igniter for the 'war on terror',,, which makes the 'war on Saddam ' but a mere step away........but PLAN it.??... no no no.
  2. hmmmmm... planned it???? i doubt it... .. make a decision ( along with his "brain trust" ) to aknowledge the "warnings",,, but look the other way???... maybeeee..... only problem,,, the attack was far far worse than expected.... On April 7 of this year, I began a thread entitled,"is it possible that this MAY have happened.? " .....I was just asking,,, I was not claiming the theory to be a FACT,,, I was wondering out loud if my imagination was way way over the edge.... But.. I was willing to accept the possiblility, which my thread suggested..... Welll man,,,,, I was BLASTED.... by my fellow dz dot commers......most said the idea was laughable.... still I think it could have happened... If i knew how,, I would try to highlight that thread,,, for you... Maybe someone else here can find it.. (It was in speakers corner and was started on april 7 2004.......) and make it clicky... thanks o[:-) jmy
  3. .... absolutely a great flick and historic too,, regarding that style of music.....Soooo many great details,,,and lines... BUT..When it's on TV.. to much of the dialogue gets cut,,, It is well worth it,, to get the DVD,, so you miss Nothing!!!!!.. " hey You Sleaze!!!, my Bed!!!
  4. true enough...There was a time when sports enthusiasm was characterized by the "Pep Rally Bonfire" phenomenon....Mostly all in good fun,,,Rah Rah Rah Sis Boom Baa.... But as time have changed the "controls" over such things have gone awry... Sports exhuberhance can easily get crazy,,, win OR lose, and when the line is crossed by one,,, others follow... Certainly news coverage and " on the spot video" does more to legitimize such activity than it does to discourage it....... lots of followers out there,,, all it takes is the spark.... what a shame... never understood that " let's destroy something" attitude...."lets burn a car"... ... my reply.???
  5. roger that... good point. I'd respect any TM who feels as you do..... no problem... just saying what my natural reaction would be and pointing out the couple of times when it happened,,, and when it went well.. of course each situation is unique.. but some guidelines specific to each dropzone,,, are likely a very very good idea... now as for " fun jumping" with tandems ,, docking etc ...be sure everyone knows what to expect and when to expect it. dirtdive the jump each time...
  6. [reply I was filming a guy once who froze like that too - only this guy froze flat - arms and legs straight out. The poor TM was spinning so damned fast I backed off just so I wouldn't get kicked in the head. The TM finally got hold of the dudes hands and pinned them behind his head in the Felony Arrest position, stopped the spin, and dumped. Needless to say, I made no attempt at docking on that one hmmmmm I just re read this thread and it is good that most are all on the same page... however.. I also have been on tandem skydives where a spin began.... in each of the cases,, I didn't "make no attempt to dock"... rather I closed on them,,(,we had boo--koo altitude. these problems all started shortly after exit..) and I planted a hand on the side of the TM's leg and helped stop the turns.....A camera person should recognize that part of his/her job is to be an air monitor and lifeguard of sorts,,, should anything unusual occur..At least that's the way I feel... Another jump found me looking at a main deployment bag, bouncing around in the slipstream above the TM... somehow the container opened, perhaps on exit, yet the drouge release 3 ring was still intact...anyway the TM had NO idea what was going on and when I started seeing suspension lines bouncing around,, I swooped him.... waved like I would at opening... then pointed to him with my left arm,, while I simulated a reach to My pilot chute with my right arm... I think I also yelled PULL a couple of times...hahahaha.. we were around 8 grand.. Fact Is... he got the idea, pulled the d release handle and got the bridle up over the D bag,, just in time,,, ( no canopy material had gotten out of the bag,,, yet ) I dunno know if I would have closed on them and tried to pull,, But for sure if a tm is having problems,, I will respond, will help, will succeed........ there have been times when a tm has a bridle wrap around Himself/Herself, or part of the student... for sure I would move in to help..and would do my best to clear it... why??? cause hell,, most of the Tandem Instructors with whom I skydive are close personal friends...and the students who skydive at our dropzone,,, deserve nothing less..
  7. good question.. and yes. that's the hope... don't want a tether... yet in 10 years of doing video I've never faced a situation like that.. More so,,,, the break in the wire,, allows for ease of donning and removing the helmet. The pendant and its lead,,, stay in the jumpsuit sleeve... After a while though,, the molex connect can get a bit sloppy and the damn thing can seperate during a jump ......... so keep an eye on it... If you consider this system,,, be sure not to short yourself the distance you need from the helmet end of the wire,,to get from your jawline to a place comfortably inside the front of your jumpsuit... ( you only get to cut the wire,,, Once!!!!
  8. she handed me 16.50 ( one jump ticket) in a card *** ...good deal.... the Ranch rocks.!.. 16.50 for a skydive at full altitude,?,, and from a super otter??? that's great in this day of crazy fuel prices... .. your wife loves ya' and sounds like a real 'partner' honor her trust and confidence in you,,, and Skydive Safely !!!!!
  9. sure thing peej...you're welcome here are some more thoughts
  10. what is It?????... it's WRONG.... ..that's what it is.... hahahahaha........,,,, now if the pants... were purple ,, or maybe....PINK!!!!!.....I might have been ok with it!!!!!!!!!!!! what a world.......
