    Ukraine

It seems that all western analysts expected Russia’s war to be based around heavy bombardment of civilian populations simply through lack of ability to fight any other way. What I don’t know if they predicted (and I certainly had no idea) was the depth of the brutality and depravity the Russian army is showing on a deliberate, personal and face to face level as a matter of policy. For instance large number of civilians who were abducted into Russia for no other reason than to ransom in exchange for POWs, who were first made to lie outside for days in freezing fields with their shoes deliberately filled with water, then denied medical treatment until amputation was required of toes, feet or even entire limbs. Fucking animals. As an aside, this is also why certain decisions that were made in the Middle East were so damaging. For example blanket immunity for US contractors, including for deliberate and indiscriminate murder of civilians.
  2. You posted an article about them restricting retweeting of an NYP story which broke their rules because it contained potentially hacked or stolen personal information and you have not provided any evidence that they have changed those rules.
  3. Do normal buses have electrical systems that are somehow immune to flames?
  4. How did I know you were going to post that non-sequitur? Look, can we have just one conversation without you being a twisty dishonest game player? Twitter allowed discussion of the legitimacy of the HB laptop. That doesn't mean they didn't restrict any stories about it. I could probably write a post about my pet dog that would violate Twitter rules and get restricted - that wouldn't mean Twitter doesn't allow discussions about dogs.
  5. No. If you're unable to remember the topic of a thread you started that's your problem. Doesn't bode well for you being able to make any interesting points if you were reminded, either. That juice doesn't seem worth the squeeze.
  6. Yes really. If you think that link has anything to do with Twitter blocking posts about the legitimacy of the Biden laptop then, once again, you haven't read a word of it.
  7. Have you forgotten the topic?
  8. AKA if people always acted rationally with long term benefit in mind there wouldn’t be a problem in the first place. Or skydiving.
  9. 1) That’s what this entire stupid thread is about. 2) They allowed that before.
  10. I don’t think you understand. Brent has clearly stated that it must be a nefarious Democrat plot. The fact that Twitter’s stance makes perfect sense on its own merit is pure coincidence.
  11. Why are you asking me instead of reading the article you posted? So in your mind hundreds of thousands of people were only following Obama because the Twitter algorithm which cracks down on anti-transgender speech had tricked them into doing so? And this is a thing which makes sense to you in some way? What evidence is there that Twitter’s moderation policy has changed?
  12. It must be reassuring to be so naive. CRT isn't taught in schools. Conservatives are banning a whole bunch of other stuff under the cover of the outrage they have generated over their fake defiitions of CRT. Or to put it another way, now it isn't that either. I notice you can't contest that once again you didn't even read your own source and have no clue what you're talking about.
  13. And how exactly is that connected to the article you just posted, which explains in a very obvious and hard to misunderstand way that liberal accounts are losing followers because of a campaign among liberals to leave Twitter in protest against the takeover? I don’t really understand how you missed that bit. Again, it was really extremely obvious in the article that, again, you posted. BTW, the Twitter algorithm favours liberals? When did you become a full on tin foiler?
  14. Yes, the question that lead to you realising you had no idea what cancel culture was despite having been lead by the nose into railing against it. What of it?
  15. In what way do you believe that has happened?
  16. Like the kind of impressionable children who are brought to despair by the media’s coverage of cancel culture until they realise they don’t actually know what cancel culture is?
  17. Climate and natural disasters are not the same thing.
  18. So how do you think it went down when Hunter’s business dealings made Joe less wealthy?
  19. It is not at all suspicious for a man with tens of millions of dollars of legitimately earned money to have $800k available?
  20. He's been a property owner with a well paying job for 50 years. How could he not have that much money? There's also the minor fact that he signed a ten million dollar book deal two years earlier. But sure... Hunter occasionally paying a thousand dollars for home repairs that Joe would reimburse him for is clearly the answer.
  21. Lol, do you not know what that makes you sound like? "Why good sir, you have not taken the time to personally reply to all 800 individual points in this list I copied and pasted from someone's blog? Then I declare victory!"
  22. Finally! The smoking gun that Joe was making loads of money through Hunter's busine... oh wait, never mind.
  23. Does it mean they'll all learn quite as well? Now, do you actually want to try and provide any positive justification for this very expensive action by the Florida state which removes freedom of choice from schools and parents? Again, as far as I can see the only reason for it is a bunch of snowflakes forcing way OTT political correctness on the education system.
  24. Are you fucking kidding me? Let’s assume for just a moment that respectable, long established textbook companies might have some small inkling of how children learn and what helps them retain information. Then, let’s look at the problem from the other side and ask you to explain what could possibly be wrong with having cartoons of children who are not exclusively white in a school book. If you can do that without reference to right wing snowflakes who literally cannot deal with acknowledging that non-white people exist that’d be great.
  25. Yep. While the law is still awful, it's hilarious that in some senses it also makes into reality some of the worst nightmares of what the right think that 'the woke' want to force on them. They've literally made it illegal for schools to acknowledge that there are any differences between men and women. Kids ask things, right? What's a married couple? Any two adults who want to be together, could be Adam and Eve, could be Adam and Steve, it's illegal to say they're not exactly the same thing. Steve might not even be a man anyway. Steve is just a name for an adult of indeterminate gender - which is every adult in Florida now at least as far as schools are concerned. Little Timmy wants to play Tinkerbelle in the school play? Of course he can, the drama teacher is not allowed to mention anything about his desire to wear a dress and makeup, just let the little drag artist roll with it. And bathrooms? Man, let alone not stopping them from using either one, you can't even tell them why there are two in the first place.
