Indeed - and again now Russia's idea of a 'neutral' Ukraine would be a completely demilitarised one with a puppet govenrment installed and if the people start getting restless? Well here comes the Russian army again with nothing to stop them this time. To expect them to abide by any real neutrality guarantee would be insane. Less than a week before the invasion Putin was dressing down his intelligence chief for some reason. When pressed on the status of the Donbas the spy said 'Yes we should recognise Luhansk and Donetsk and send in the Army to help occupy the territory' and Putin said 'Hohoho Sergei don't be silly, no one is talking about occupying Ukraine!' but here we are...

No, you’d have got exactly what’s happening now. Countries in the ‘neutral’ corridor deciding that Russia is really fucking scary and they don’t want to be neutral anymore, closely followed by Russia demonstrating why it was right to be scared of them.
  3. What do you think of libs of TikTok?

No, not merely that. Not by a long shot.
  5. You misspelled ‘stood up to the fascist mob’.
  6. Lol. Winsor, who just said that the majority of the human race is irrational, believes it is poisonous to suggest that someone has ever been irrational. If that isn’t the perfect summation of this thread I don’t know what is.

What NGO’s have defence obligations? And why is it obvious? I don’t see why anyone would disagree with that. The amount of aid being given by the USA right now is commendable. The problem is how you’re doing the ugly American thing of being proud of it by shitting all over everyone else, and regarding hints that are completely irrelevant.
  8. If you don’t care about top level political support for Medicare fraudsters then do you really care about Medicare fraud?

Why do you lie about what you said when it’s still written down in black and white? You know it’s not true, we all know it’s not true, what’s the point?
  10. Although it’s a humorous article, it still leaves you thinking “oh my god, they really just ran a CTRL+F for certain words in the text and that was it”.

So why are you doing it? Joe has told you what the actual text that was signed to says and you’re ignoring it. Remind me to never sign a fucking waiver at your DZ, sounds like you’ll come after me next year and claim I agreed to give you a kidney.

What would be wrong with that? Unfortunately for him, you’ve already gone full JoeWeber and are refusing to back down from the utter, utter shite that you’re spouting. NATO’s own website describes the 2% figure as a guideline. Your idea that it’s some kind of binding treaty is complete nonsense and you know it’s complete nonsense - not only that, it’s utterly irrelevant to anything that’s happening in Ukraine. So what on earth is your point?
  13. It constantly amazes me how those who shout the loudest about getting the government out of their lives are also the most likely to fawn over autocratic proto-dictators like Viktor Orban, Rodrigo Duterte or Vladimir Putin when they use their power to stamp down on people the ‘freedom lovers’ don’t like. Not only is it incredibly hypocritical, they just don’t seem to realise how quick that worm can turn. I guess the old saying “those who would sacrifice liberty to own the libs will get what they deserve” has never been truer.

NATO’s Ukraine lesson is that the Russian Army could be completely annihilated in any war on any ground with a lot less than 2% spending. Otherwise I think they were well aware that we are much better at logistics than Russia, though perhaps not fully aware just how badly corruption within the Russian military has limited what logistical capacity they were supposed to have.
  15. You spent your whole life opposing socialised / universal healthcare despite hearing all the arguments in favour of it many times over. Then ACA happened, and very shortly afterwards you realised that socialised / universal healthcare is a good thing. Again, this is not a coincidence. ACA has changed the healthcare conversation in the USA forever, by making millions and millions of conservatives including you realise that medical care for all would be a good thing.

The one thing the Russians are successfully doing is slowly grinding Urainian cities and their civilian populations into the dust, which is also what nukes are for.
  17. They probably had a couple of examples like 'if Omar has 3 dollars and DaShawn has 5 dollars' and that was too much for the anti CRT snowflakes to deal with.
  18. It's not a coincidence that you started listening to those opinions after ACA happened, and it's not a coincidence your opinion changed at the same time as the opinion of the leaders of the Republican party changed. The same people here have been saying the same things about universal healthcare and socialised single payer healthcare for years and years and years prior to that, but you didn't learn from them then. ACA changed the healthcare debate in the USA from the Republican side forever, and your opinion changed as a result.
  19. What part of that article uncovered any evidence that Dr, Fryer (Dr, Fryer and?) was gone after by the woke? You talk about fallacies but your argument here is "a bad thing happened therefore 'the woke' did it."
  20. Right, so ACA has convinced you to support socialised single payer healthcare. Again, that's a pretty major achievement. Without ACA you would not have taken that step - ACA is a stepping stone to real universal healthcare in the USA. I'm not sure why you refuse to recognise that when you are living proof that it's working.
  21. And I bet you didn't before ACA. Before ACA, the American right would fight tooth and nail any attempt to create a more universal healthcare system. Since ACA, it is now the stated position of the Republican party to repeal it and replace it with a better form of universal healthcare. That's a pretty major achievement.
  22. So again, cancel culture is decisions made by employers either with or without regard to social pressure? What exactly is the alternative? And yet you've seemed to feel quite strongly about it in the past. It's good that you were open to recognising your error - kudos for that - but why do you think you allowed yourself to be mislead in the first place? Do you think some of the same factors might be involved in your acceptance of the heavily related right wing hysteria over wokeness, for example?
  23. If I punch a colleague (or anyone really) at a work event I will get fired immediately. No ifs, no buts, no mere 'fears' of consequences. Would you then stand up for me and complain to my former employer that I'd been unfairly cancelled? Give me a fucking break. So 'cancel culture' is decisions made by employers in the absense of wider social pressure?
  24. This strikes me as more of a complaint kinda thing.
  25. How can a single individual cancel a public figure? Exactly - and here you get the problem with all the complaints about so-called cancel culture. Why do you want to cancel the right of employers to choose their employees? Who do you propose should make hiring and firing decisions for them?
