Affirmative action candidate fails as press secretary
jakee replied to brenthutch's topic in Speakers Corner
And why do you have a problem with that, when any study of incompetent government officials in the past would show that the most valued conservative traits are being white and straight? Why have you never once in your life worried about that? -
Affirmative action candidate fails as press secretary

Why are you lying to me when your first post and thread title are both still sitting there in black and white? Do you think I would somehow forget to go back and check what you wrote yesterday? -
You have to believe that otherwise you’d have to do some uncomfortable reassessment of the right wing politics you support. It’s ridiculous to suggest that Republican replacement theory isn’t racist. It’s obviously untrue to say that when Republican commentators and politicians say ‘they’re trying to replace you with more obedient voters’ they’re not playing up a racist tripe that minorities are more easily led. Mexico has had left and right wing presidents in the past 20 years the same way the US has. Also if there was mass immigration from a right wing authoritarian country like Russia I wouldn’t assume it was people happy with the Russian regime who were leaving. Of course we’re not taking it as gospel, because the shooter also self-identified as a liar and a troll. I literally just said that, so the fact you still find it somewhat curious is completely bizarre.

So you never thought there was a problem with the hiring of any incompetent press secretary before. Just this one. Because she is black. -

What about all the others who weren't? I mean, they're government employees so I'm sure you don't think the sun shines out of all of their asses. What about all of the other less than competent straight white people who've held posts like that? Why don't you ever care about the conservative criteria they fit? -
You know what, I'm out. You're just too unpleasant for this to have any interest for me. Have a nice life.

Nihilism has more than one definition and they are surprisingly diverse. You'll need to be more specific. That's not the meaning of agnosticism. Yay?

It's really very sad that you would take this view for partisan reasons. The Buffalo shooter admits straight up that a lot of what he was writing and saying was for 'memes and shitposting' so really almost any part of it could be true or untrue, and it certainly contains deliberate attempts to feed the press a false narrative. The only thing we can really judge to be true is what is supported by his actions. Did he really specifically and intentionally kill a bunch of black people because he was anti-corporatist? No. Did he kill them because he didn't like conservatism? No. Did he kill them because the media is full of Jews? No, but that's edging closer. He killed a bunch of black people because he was a racist who was incenced by racist rhetoric with a strong focus on replacement theory. That's really the only bit of the manifesto we know is true. He was really, really into replacement theory which is not only a right wing talking point, it is very specifically a Republican talking point. It is pushed by Republican politicians and Republican media commentators to get people fired up against the Democrat party and their policies. Well, this guy was fired up.

Bringing joy to barbaric authoritarians everywhere, I'm sure.

What could possibly be confusing about the statement that telepathy isn't real? You apparently believe telepathy is real because of spirituality so no, you're really not. I don;t know what you think that means.
-
'Eludes'? You chose it because you don't do English good. The scientists didn't find any critical mass at all. Since this type of connection has never been found, it really is not.

What about all the people before her who ticked the conservative boxes of which competence was not one? No problem with those? -
Let’s bookmark this and circle back round to it either way when the ongoing investigation finishes.

Right. Jared and Ivanka are global real estate and business people who were given access to everything that happens in the White House because of nepotism. They were given access to anyone who wanted to do government business, because of nepotism. Kushner was given power in Middle East negotiations, something he knows absolutely nothing about, while pitching for investment from Middle Eastern countries, because of nepotism. For you of all people, with the opinions you have loudly espoused about how relatives of Democrats should behave, to claim there was no grift going on there is beyond the pale. We all know you’re nothing but a hyper partisan shill at the best of times but this? Aren’t you embarrassed to hear the words you’re speaking?

So you believe that every other press secretary who’s ever given a bad answer was only picked for the role because they were white and straight? -
It’s all Obama’s fault for being so divisive.

A little reported fact is that Russia’s aims around Kyiv and western Ukraine were hampered not just by Russian incompetence but by widespread sabotage by Belorussian railway workers and trade unionists of the infrastructure they had planned to use for logistical support of the Kyiv column and forces assaulting Chernihiv etc. https://www.railtech.com/infrastructure/2022/04/15/railway-sabotage-after-50-days-of-war-in-ukraine-here-is-what-we-know/?gdpr=accept Many of these saboteurs and suspected saboteurs have been arrested. The president of Belarus has now changed the law so that these ‘crimes’ could result in the death penalty.

George Bush laments the fact that an unreliable election lead to one man having the power to lead an unjustified invasion of Iraq… no Ukraine! Ok Iraq too. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/world-us-canada-61505050

I was just going to say the same thing. Before even checking my strong assumption was that an article hyping up exceptional Russian capabilities in an expensive hi-tech field would conclude that the government should therefore give lots of funding to defence contractors to improve capabilities in that field. The bomber gap, the missile gap, the mineshaft gap, the helicopter gap and now the infrared gap. Amazing how many magical technologies the barely first world USSR and its successor have managed to ‘beat’ the US at before billions and billions of dollars were spent in response.
-
They absolutely did, and there is no problem with that.

I have no idea why we’re talking about A10s starting WW3. You’ll need to ask the other guy. You’ve ruined the surprise. I was planning to point out that Ukraine already has ground attack planes but has somehow avoided going mental and bombing Moscow so far.
-
So why did you bring it up? Specifically, why A10s were left out. Not why nukes were left out, why A10s were left out which is your scenario that you chose to talk about. So if you’re not worried about anyone with access to A10s doing something stupid why are you worried about someone with access to A10s doing something stupid?
-
Yes, that’s exactly the point. This is a good thing for all of NATO and a bad thing for any more of Putin’s expansionist ambitions.
-
NATO is a deterrent. Putin doesn’t want conflict with the NATO block. That’s partly why he attacked Ukraine - to cut off NATO membership - and most of why he felt confidant that he could attack Ukraine without being directly opposed. In short, with Finland in NATO there is a far, far lower probability of Russian aggression against Finland. If you can’t see why that’s a good thing for NATO in general and the rest of Europe in particular then I’m not sure what else to say.
-
Consider that if Ukraine had been a full member of NATO already we would not currently be fighting a proxy war in Ukraine. That’s the value Finland being in NATO brings to NATO.
