A push by who, and teaching what, exactly? Are they teaching principles from the original literature of CRT? What is that literature and what is within it that you find so objectionable. Lol. It's absolutely hilarious that you're pretending to take the intellectual high ground when what you're actually doing is trying to distract from the fact that you were lying about having read 'the original' CRT literature.
-
Can we launch a campign for American Muckrakers to hire a copywriter? Or at least a proofreader. Regardless of accuracy that press release is a shambles.
-
So what 'original' CRT work have you read, and what do you dislike about it? Of the concise version, have you read it and can you give an example from it of what you dislike? Holy goalpost change batman! What educators are pushing it through schools and what exactly are they pushing? Then, what does the thing they are pushing have to do with the things you dislike in the original literature of CRT? And to go back to Holocaust studies, why do you think it doesn't involve any theory? Do you believe it's just an exercise in listing events? I'm not quite sure why you're trying to insult all the Hoocaust academics out there.
-
CRT arose as a study of racial injustice in the US legal system. The people studying it are supposed to be lawyers. Is maths bad because it's taught by mathematicians, not historians?
-
What's wrong with it? What makes you angry about it? And how is it a part of the original literature when it was put together 30 years after the beginnings of CRT?
-
I don't think you know what Holocaust studies are. The Holocaust itself isn't a theory, just like slavery, Jim Crow and the KKK aren't theories. The study of many things around the Holocaust (how it happened, why it happened, how people went along with it, what repercussions does it have today etc etc) are absolutely theories. If Holocaust studies was just the fact of the Holocaust then it wouldn't be a branch of academia anymore, there would just be a book of what happened in the Holocaust. But that'a not how History works. Now, please tell us more about this original CRT literature you've been reading. I'm fascinated.

Then you just don’t pay attention. Israel uses anti-semitism accusations to deflect criticism of their racist policies all the time.

13 minutes! At least you’re improving. Make it an hour and you get a cookie.
-
Revealing that you get your opinions fed to you by the Daily Mail (hint, they support the Rwanda plan and also support accepting Ukrainian refugees) isn’t exactly ‘revealing personal stuff’. I mean, we could all figure that out anyway.
-
2 minutes you lasted that time. Your self control is as great as your political acumen.
-
The dust might never settle. Regardless, why is it up to us to help them when there are multiple countries on the way to Britain from Ukraine who are ready and willing to take them in? You believe that legitimate refugees should stop in the first country that’s safe, why are Ukrainians different? What could it be…
-
You mean those freeloading Ukrainian refugees who’ve just passed through all of Europe to get here? Hmm, I wonder why you think they’re ok but others aren’t. What could possibly be the difference?
-
Yeah, of course that’s what you think. Well, you just keep on supporting the social care cutting, un-earned wealth protecting Tories just as long as they deport a few brown people. I’m sure that’ll help your veteran mates get access to help and housing. Yeah, that’ll be coming any day now.

So we’re bang in the middle of June, Russia is still grinding forwards over the rubble of the Donbas and Ukraine is begging the west for more ammo and weapons systems amid dire warnings that they are running out of firepower. How’s this prediction going for you?
-
Well of course. Just look at who Boris has around him - Sunak the billionaire WAG who never bothered to disclose that he was making tax decisions which would directly affect his in-laws massive fortune. Chief lounge lizard Rees-Mogg, who thinks he’s protecting taxpayer’s money by forcing civil servants to stop working from home but refuses to release any information regarding enormous, fraudulent Covid PPE contracts to Tory cronies. Drax, who’s never made a penny in his life that wasn’t interest on his family’s slave trade fortune but thinks that a windfall tax on oil company profits is red meat for socialists at the expense of honest productive rich people. Obviously they would all be queueing up to throw money at the ambulance service if it wasn’t for those damn immigrants.
-
So you’ve got nothing. You have no idea what you’re talking about and can’t explain a thing. You really did believe the NHS battle bus slogan, didn’t you? I understand it must have hurt to be let down so badly, I just can’t fathom why the people you’re angry at aren’t the ones who did it.
-
If Labour are bad because they are like the Tories, why are the Tories better? Keir Starmer earned his money. He was born to a normal family, went to state school and worked for everything he now has. BoJo was born into several branches of European nobility and had his education and lifestyle handed down to him. Like his chancellor who met a billionaire in college and married into a life of unfathomable luxury. Is that really the best you’ve got? Honestly? At be you think you’re making a point?

Since the quote didn't fit his worldview he simply used an alternative quote. Can't really blame him for copying his leaders.

Is Winsor starting to remind anyone else of Grandpa Simpson? ”Hey grandpa, what would you like for dinner?” ”Well back in the winter of 1929 we had to eat our boots for dinner. These weren’t boots like you have now, they were made of wooden soles and chicken wire. Now when I worked in a wooden boot sole factory was when I met the man who taught me how to juggle. Now let me tell you about life in the circus!”

Explain how one has anything to do with the other.

And once Boris has sent all the thieving refugees packing he’ll have loads of spare cash and will immediately offer much more support to veterans and the homeless, won’t he? ….. Wont he? Jesus man, I bet you believed the NHS slogan on the Leave bus too. If you think veterans are being poorly treated, ask for veterans to be treated better. Their plight isn’t the refugee’s fault, it’s the government’s fault. Decade after decade of conservative and neo-liberal policies constantly eroding social services in favour of corporate tax breaks, shipping a few brown people off to central Africa isn’t going to undo that.
-
Bullshit. We’re talking about boat people who’ve taken a significant risk of death to get here in the first place. If you’re saying that’s what they consider an ‘easy life’ then you have to think about how awful things must be in the places they’re leaving. Never mind that some of the people being shipped out first are Afghan refugees fleeing the shitstorm we left behind.
-
If you really want to laugh, consider that Boris (or Priti Patel the foreign secretary, I can’t quite remember) introduced this policy with the words “while our compassion is infinite…” Are we living in Black Mirror or an Orwell novel? Hard to tell sometimes.
-
Right, if it’s not going to affect the next election you shouldn’t bother trying to hold the Executive branch to account for egregious misconduct and corruption in public office. You know we can smell the desperation coming off you?
-
For all Boris’ faults he’s still subject to the law. In the recent scandal the lockdown parties in No 10 were investigated by the police, and he was issued a fixed penalty notice (equivalent to a speeding fine) by the police, under the same laws and regulations that apply to any other citizen. This would be the case for any other crime. No one’s going to argue the system worked perfectly, but it’s a world away from the cult of the presidency that has developed in the US. Their ideas that a President is immune from any prosecution, and can invoke executive privilege to hide any documents or testimony from congressional oversight are batshit crazy.
