  1. Not looking good for GWB latest news "Truth is tough. It will not break, like a bubble, at a touch; nay, you may kick it about all day like a football, and it will be round and full at evening." -- Oliver Wendell Holmes
  2. Four times, static line training in '78/'79. 24' T-10. Moncks Corners South Carolina. "Truth is tough. It will not break, like a bubble, at a touch; nay, you may kick it about all day like a football, and it will be round and full at evening." -- Oliver Wendell Holmes
  3. I tried searching the AAS archives and can't find it there. You can buy an electronic copy at newsstand.com. "Truth is tough. It will not break, like a bubble, at a touch; nay, you may kick it about all day like a football, and it will be round and full at evening." -- Oliver Wendell Holmes
  4. Home finished out the year as the number 2 country album on Billboard's charts and number four on the overall top 200. Didn't suffer much. "Truth is tough. It will not break, like a bubble, at a touch; nay, you may kick it about all day like a football, and it will be round and full at evening." -- Oliver Wendell Holmes
  5. So what about the other 58 cities on the tour? "Truth is tough. It will not break, like a bubble, at a touch; nay, you may kick it about all day like a football, and it will be round and full at evening." -- Oliver Wendell Holmes
  6. I have in front of me a copy of the Austin American-Statesman dated January 11, 2004. The article is from AP so is probably available elsewhere. It indicates 479 American military service members died in Iraq in 2003. With November (after your numbers) being the deadliest month with 82 as compared to 73 in April during major combat operations. 2/3 during the counterinsurgency phase and 1/3 killed during major combat operations. An additional 2,380 were injured in hostile action and 378 in non-hostile situations. Seems to me the war part was safer. "Truth is tough. It will not break, like a bubble, at a touch; nay, you may kick it about all day like a football, and it will be round and full at evening." -- Oliver Wendell Holmes
  7. If "many fans" didn't like what they heard why were almost no tickets turned back in even after they Chicks offered to buy them back? Why were the protestors at concerts counted in two digit numbers and the fans in thousands? Could it be that the media and country radio stations 1) sensationalized the whole thing and 2) caved in to a vocal minority? "Truth is tough. It will not break, like a bubble, at a touch; nay, you may kick it about all day like a football, and it will be round and full at evening." -- Oliver Wendell Holmes
  8. Travelin' Soldier was actually written by Bruce Robison and Farrah Braniff and released in 1995. Although the song is set in the Vietnam era it was in reference to the first Gulf War and is an anti-war song. Not anti-military, just anti-war. The lyrics can be found here Natalie did not trash the military. She made a personal statement about her feelings related to coming from the same state as GWB. When people trashed Clinton, or Reagan, or Bush I, or Carter did you feel betrayed? "Truth is tough. It will not break, like a bubble, at a touch; nay, you may kick it about all day like a football, and it will be round and full at evening." -- Oliver Wendell Holmes
  9. Congrats to both of you, looking forward to seeing the solution. "Truth is tough. It will not break, like a bubble, at a touch; nay, you may kick it about all day like a football, and it will be round and full at evening." -- Oliver Wendell Holmes
  10. I hope no one from TSA is reading this but I don't understand how having a laminated card with a bunch of circles and arrows that matches up to what they are seeing on the machine really proves anything. Now I have only seen a picture of one and not the real thing. What makes the card so magical? "Truth is tough. It will not break, like a bubble, at a touch; nay, you may kick it about all day like a football, and it will be round and full at evening." -- Oliver Wendell Holmes

  13. More thoughts on this topic here. edited to fix the clicky "Truth is tough. It will not break, like a bubble, at a touch; nay, you may kick it about all day like a football, and it will be round and full at evening." -- Oliver Wendell Holmes
  14. At what point did I ever say "recently"? All I said was "interesting". Sorry, didn't mean to imply you did. I just can't get worked up over something that has been buried that long and apparently was in such bad shape many of them were leaking. Not likely to be a very useful weapon. "Truth is tough. It will not break, like a bubble, at a touch; nay, you may kick it about all day like a football, and it will be round and full at evening." -- Oliver Wendell Holmes
  15. being uncomfortable certainly makes a difference and I like your outlook. "Truth is tough. It will not break, like a bubble, at a touch; nay, you may kick it about all day like a football, and it will be round and full at evening." -- Oliver Wendell Holmes
  16. According to the rest of the report they had been buried 10 years. Hardly recently. "Truth is tough. It will not break, like a bubble, at a touch; nay, you may kick it about all day like a football, and it will be round and full at evening." -- Oliver Wendell Holmes
  17. That's not simply nit-picking. The fact that the lead singer of the Dixie Chicks was pandering to a foreign audience in such a way is what pissed most people off. FallRate The nit I was picking was the venue, concert not news conference. Natalie was not pandering, just speaking her mind. Also "most" people were not pissed off. Very few concert tickets were turned back in. The problem was with country music fans and radio being, in general, conservative and therefore supporters of GWB. The reason the song and group mentioned here hasn't generated a lot of press is that rock and roll fans, in general, don't give a shit about politics, young ones in particular. "Truth is tough. It will not break, like a bubble, at a touch; nay, you may kick it about all day like a football, and it will be round and full at evening." -- Oliver Wendell Holmes
  18. Just picking a nit but actually it was during a concert in England. Love those girls! "Truth is tough. It will not break, like a bubble, at a touch; nay, you may kick it about all day like a football, and it will be round and full at evening." -- Oliver Wendell Holmes
  19. How about two governments? I know there are others there but really US and UK are running the show and even the UK wouldn't be there without us and we would be there without them. If we are worried about threats then what about North Korea? Oh that's right they actually have a real army that would kill the 30,000 or so troops we have in South Korea before we could do anything about it and they might even lob a nuke at California in the process. Sure we would eventually flatten the country but at a huge US cost. I am opposed to what we are doing in Iraq now and I was opposed then. However when we did go in then we should have finished it. But we didn't because it was AGAINST THE UN MANDATE. Edited for typos "Truth is tough. It will not break, like a bubble, at a touch; nay, you may kick it about all day like a football, and it will be round and full at evening." -- Oliver Wendell Holmes
  20. This is where the fireworks start. This sounds like you are saying that criticism of the government equates to traitor. One of the many reasons we hold our freedoms dear is the ability to criticize the governments actions. "Truth is tough. It will not break, like a bubble, at a touch; nay, you may kick it about all day like a football, and it will be round and full at evening." -- Oliver Wendell Holmes
  21. It was funded by the Planetary Society and more information can be found here. There doesn't appear to be information about it on the Spanish language version of the site and there doesn't seem to be any at the Lego site either. Both of these imply an English speaking audience to me. "Truth is tough. It will not break, like a bubble, at a touch; nay, you may kick it about all day like a football, and it will be round and full at evening." -- Oliver Wendell Holmes
  22. Maybe we should wait for the further tests. Months ago we supposedly found 50 gallon drums of Sarin gas but furhter tests were needed and we never heard about it again. "Truth is tough. It will not break, like a bubble, at a touch; nay, you may kick it about all day like a football, and it will be round and full at evening." -- Oliver Wendell Holmes
  23. They added a clue. Sorry about the width but I didn't want to break it up in some arbitrary manner. "Truth is tough. It will not break, like a bubble, at a touch; nay, you may kick it about all day like a football, and it will be round and full at evening." -- Oliver Wendell Holmes
  24. I meant to reply to this thread earlier but ... "Truth is tough. It will not break, like a bubble, at a touch; nay, you may kick it about all day like a football, and it will be round and full at evening." -- Oliver Wendell Holmes
  25. You quickly recovered from a bad exit, made all of the required moves of the level, kept altitude awareness, waved off and pulled on time and FAILED the level! man your instuctors are tough. "Truth is tough. It will not break, like a bubble, at a touch; nay, you may kick it about all day like a football, and it will be round and full at evening." -- Oliver Wendell Holmes
