I'd have picked that one if only because the names of the others all sound super cheesy.

I'm starting to wonder if it's your ambition to go and live in every country of the world, and slag it off when you get there.
-
Ahem. I think a NSFW notice might be in order!

*Sigh*. This is the kind of thread I was referring to in this one. I was joking about only wanting to see froth in the bonfire, but I do feel the need for some now.

Older single engine jet fighter scrapes tail cone in the ground?
MikeJD replied to Calvin19's topic in The Bonfire
Wow. Dozens of worms roasted alive. -
If I understand correctly, I think 'autocomplete' is what you're looking for. Try this. I didn't have time to investigate in detail, but the first couple of hits looked quite promising. Hope this helps!

Hey! this one is killer! it's not allowed to jump with a camera - even with goPro, untill you're licenced to jump with one. Humour, I believe...

What does 'Peel' stand for in (some) EP's ?
MikeJD replied to rhopstr's topic in Safety and Training
Same here. Had a friend who tried to cut away from severe line twists, and found she was unable to pull her pad. Eventually, while she was still trying (and scaring herself half to death) the twists cleared themselves and she was able to land her main. I don't believe this was a case of trapped/ twisted cutaway cables since when she landed her pad was still mated to the velcro, and she found that she had to peel it before she could pull it. It was a brand new rig, so the velcro had hardly ever been separated. My EPs include a 'peel' step, but it's really all part of the same motion - i.e. my cutaway pull begins with a twist of the hand to break the 'seal'. -
Is Beating Somebody In Girls Basketball 108-3 Unsportsmanlike Conduct?
MikeJD replied to ridestrong's topic in The Bonfire
I thought netball was "girls' basketball". -
We used to have a guy regularly jumping well into his seventies, but I guess that's not so unusual. I wouldn't have called him especially bold, either. Don't think we have any septuagenarians now - certainly no octagenarians. And as far as I know, no Rastafarians. Possibly some Bulgarians, but none of them is a septuagenarian Bulgarian.

Just shrug and ignore him - his disdain isn't your problem. And remember that for everyone who thinks you're an idiot because you skydive, someone else thinks you're something special because you skydive. They're both wrong.

I think it's a good idea to hold off on posting that kind of thing. It serves little purpose except to give the internet tough guys a chance to describe how they'd torture the perpetrator to death. We all know this stuff goes on, but the media likes to sell these lurid stories on the pretext of keeping us 'informed'. What are we actually going to do about them? Nothing - just express our outrage and move on. So yep - skip the heavy stuff, and bring on the froth!

It's all about documenting and collecting now. YouTube hits, blog posts, Facebook friends, videos of everything we used to actually experience: life through a lens. If a tree falls in the forest and nobody records it on his iPhone, did it actually happen?

It's not completely clear from that report how bad her injuries are. If she's done permanent damage, things might just have got a whole lot worse for her. Weirdly, I saw that story in the paper this morning a few pages after this one about a guy who travels with his life-sized female doll (including getting her a tandem jump). I thought for a moment the stories were related because of the resemblance to that poor woman lying on top of the taxi!

I love the last diver/ super swooper slot on a big-way - but a decent-sized linked launch is a close second. Pulling off the perfect 8-way exit time after time is still a buzz for me. Zoo dives can be fun once in a while, but I get tired of them pretty quickly if they keep happening. I know some people who don't care at all whether a dive goes 'well', but I don't really get that. Being serious about making a dive work, or training with a team, needn't be a fun killer - you just have to approach it positively.

I don't actually need a new suit. But would it be ok to stop by and have Valinda measure me anyway?

AI w/o Simon sounds as interesting as "Dark Knight" w/o Heath Ledger. Hmm, like it was any good with Simon. For me, watching these shows is like being repeatedly slapped in the face for an hour (or however long they last - in truth I never make it beyond about five minutes). The whole thing just seems so cynical - we're going to feed you this pap, spice it up with some fake drama among the charmless judges, make a fortune from your phone votes and then fleece you all over again by selling you crap records that you only buy because you saw these people on TV.

I was wondering how long it'd be before he got hold of the silver handle instead of the orange one!

Holy Resurrection, Batman! Yep. I was reading this thinking it was a current thread, until I got to the post where someone was talking about landing a wingsuit by running really, really fast!

I've learned that Krisanne tells it like it is, and I like her posts.

Send a group text to all the people you think it might be, saying 'Hey. great to meet you the other night at [insert name of bar].' Then for all the people who text you back asking what the hell you're talking about, just reply 'Sorry, wrong number.'

I like this one, both for the track (by Le Grand Popo Football Club) and the animation (by Cyriak). Check out Cyriak's website (possibly NSFW), by the way - I think he's a genius. Some of his stuff is a bit disturbing, but it's always eye-popping!
