  1. WTFM? I live an hour from Zhills, have a warm bed at my g/f's 2 miles from the the DZ, and most importantly I LOVE flying wingsuits! Why would I not be there? Don't you dare give me question marks! I just thought you may change your mind like you did the last time
  2. The following people I think are all going...anyone else..... KrisFlyz ScaryPerry DaMan The111(??) eUrNiCc (Tentative......) unclecharlie95 Kris.
  3. I am not sure that 18 mph is a maintainable speed without a dive preceeding that phase of the flight or due to high forward speed following an aircraft exit. Kris.
  4. Yeah, I am the guy that was flying the Silver and Black S3. I also tried uni for the first time at that sushi dinner. You will get used to flying the S3. Kris.
  5. Is this the "S3" you tried during the Holiday boogie? Kris.
  6. Sweet!! will collect on beer debt at ZHills and probably pay also. This is indeed a very exciting time for human flight. Kris.

    s5?

With some of these speciality products(BASE Gear, Wingsuits), I am thankful that someone is making me the product. If I have to wait longer than anticipated, I don't mind. Kris.
  8. I have travelled 3 times these past three weeks with a BASE rig. My observation has been that the TSA staff is usually more suspicious when the Skydiving rig comes thru the X-Ray machine. No doubt due to Reserve PC spring and the AAD stuff. "Sir, does it have a Co2 cannister?" "No" "I'll have to run a test" This is the wipe with cloth test that Russel mentioned. Then there's no problems. I carry my rigs inside a stash bag or a skydiving gearbag. It is better not to alarm passengers. You could spook someone. Now what about carrying a rig on on International flights? What about carrying on two rigs? Kris.
  9. I guess the can of worms has been opened . I cannot get the same flight times(about 5-10 secs less on a flight from 14K for same pull altitudes) from the S-Fly but I seem to cover the same amount of ground as I can in the S3. Remember the S-fly is made of a different material that is semi-rigid. I have not had the opportunity yet but I have been planning to get actual GPS numbers from S-fly and S3 flights and post numbers. Ofcourse there are a lot of variables and the numbers may not mean much but I intend to compare if my seat of the pants feel of Glide ratio I am getting with the S-fly is close to what I get with the S3. Kris.
  10. I got that part, I was asking if you failed to acknowledge the possibility that he may be talking about a beginner suit as I had mentioned in the preceeding post I am editing this post so we get back on topic. My opinion on the S-Fly is different than most other people on here have about mono wingsuits. I think the S-Fly has excellent glide. Kris.
  11. I am reading this as 50m to a short talus, 300m(980') to impact. If you remove 480' for the suit begining to fly(about 180' and a 300' opening altitude), that is about 15 secs for 500' or 23 mph(or a 26 mph total average from exit to deployment). An incredible flight. Can the experienced WS BASE pilots please post their opinions? Kris.
  12. May be he meant the beginner suits from PF. I don't see anything wrong in someone pointing out another option. To say it in your words....... But I'm sure you know this - which begs the question, why did you post? Kris
  13. He is talking about beginner suits . Like the GTI and the S-Fly. Even though the S-Fly has a big performance range, it can be flown as a first suit because it is easy to fly. Are the beginner suits from PF called Vampire also? Kris.
  14. The S-Fly requires more leg strength than the S3. I am able to get almost the same performance out of the S3 and the S-Fly. Kris.
  15. This mal happened at SDC. The rig was a Wings. The foam/cordura part is not sewn on to the ZP on wings PCs. It is connected by tape just like a hackey is. Kris.
  16. Doesn't that just make your blood boil! Mark LOL. My high school physics teacher used to say "This is fairy tale physics but you need to be able to grasp these principles first before moving on......." The physics in engineering school is closer to reality. Kris.
  17. U-571(Depth Charged). Behind Enemy lines(Missiles chasing the F-16). The key to having a great Sound system is a subwoofer that can go really low(below 20Hz if possible...a lot of the DVDs now have sound that goes well below 20Hz....you can't hear this but you can feel it..if the sound system can handle it) without distortion and a room that does not have any loose vibrating things that will cause rogue noise. I would suggest getting your hands on an Avia DVD(forget what its called) to setup your system carefully. The TVs from the factory are setup to look good in brightly lit showrooms. Adjust the settings for your home environment so that you can watch the movies with the settings that the film director intended the movie to be seen. Check this site out.... http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/main.html Kris.
  18. Not yet- apart from the anecdotal stuff that we have all heard. When I get my suit I will do some tests + hook up my gps to some other flyers so expect some info in the next month or two. Simon Don't forget to hit the gym as well. I flew my suits last weekend after a long break and my arms got really tired. The SG with the wing running from the arm to the outside of the ankle must need more strength to fly to its max possible performance. Kris.
  19. It is extremely beneficial to your health to have as many suits as possible . Congratulations on your new suit. Hopefully, I will get to fly an SG someday. Kris.
  20. That is what the Garmin Rep told me(that they did not notice that problem in their tests) but I received a new unit from them(and they could confirm the problem) so it may be the unit. However I know of one other person on here that has had the same problem. So who knows..........
  21. Bird Man Flight Manual Pheonix-Fly Flight Manual Fly Your Body Gear Advise DO NOT Use a pull out system. Kris.
  22. Just an FYI for all ForeTrex 201 owners. Do not upgrade to version 2.40. I upgraded mine and it stopped connecting to the PC. I sent it back to Garmin and they are replacing the unit. It may be a issue with the unit but why take a chance? Kris.
  23. Cannot tell what color it is but the suit looks very nice, so what color is it? Kris.
