  1. I agree I think we should just ban everything that can kill someone. Lets start with parachutes, Hell why should anyone be aloud to jump from a plane. Then go to motercycles, cars, knives, you can just chew your food apart. Besides without knives there would be know meat so that will solve two of the DO GOODERS main concerns animal welfare and gun control.
  2. Why?!!! They keep rats under control. So does Warfrin...
  3. If I found it it would be cut up into little pieces with a shovel by now. Did I mention I hate snakes.
  4. I'm not sure that I would mention it now. When I first started I told everyone I knew about it but now I waite for them or someone else to bring it up. Of course I have never been in a job interview before. I don't have any idea what goes on during one.
  5. I remember the first house fire I went to as an explorer when I was about 16. It was on a Friday after dinner during the summer and it was very hot out. After the page I remember driving towards the fire seeing a column of smoke as the chief came on the air and said it was a worker. If I remember right we saved about half of the house and it was caused by a grill on the back deck. That was over 15 years ago. Almost half of my life I've been in the volunteer fire service. Tonight I went to a car wreck. We didn't do much just provided lights for the ambulance.
  6. This spring we (my family) had to ask the same question of the pastor of our church. Lutheran. He told us that he believes the God he knows wishes for us all to be near him and so yes they do go to Heaven. I hope that helps. I also am sorry for your loss and would never wish what you are now going through on anyone. I never gave much thought to suicide until it came to our family. If you want to talk just PM me.
  7. Way to go! Glad everything went well. Cute little shit aint he?
  8. I bet I'm the only one here who was truly stuck at work today. I was picking corn on frozen ground and broke threw the frost and got the combine stuck. Boy was I pissed.
  9. I'm thankful that this year will be over in a little more than a month. I'm praying that no more bad things will happen in that time. This has been the worst year I think I can ever remember.
  10. Sunny! Your not going to be alone tomarrow are you?
  11. Depending on weather or not it snows tonight I will either go hunting or pick corn in the morning. Then go to my parents house and feast with the family. When I say feast I mean it to, my Mom has been cooking non stop for the last two days.
  12. (Hijack) How's married life?
  13. Was the point of this to educate or to irk? My though is just to push buttons. How do you feel about drilling in Alaska? As far as slash and burn for industry? It will happen no matter what - people are driven to make money. There will always be people that can't see or don't want to see past their wallet. I think you put it well saying that. Certain people can't ever be satisfied. From what I know rain-forest is not being used to grow soybeans in Brazil. I have talked to several people who have visited farms in Brazil and read several articles and even have a neighbor who left his farm here in the Genesee Valley to farm in Moto Graso (SP) Brazil. They all have been asked the rainforest question. The answer is simply no. The new farmland being made in Brazil is from what is called soweto (sp) a grass land with scrub brush, it is very easily cleared unlike forest land. Furthermore in the US we can produce enough bio-fuel for our oun use from the crops and land we have here in this country. As for those of you who want to continuously bash the bio-fuel industry think about this. Where will all the people who just lost there jobs at GM and many other US companies work in the future? Do you think that the Mid Eastern oil companies are going to give them jobs? Domestically produced bio-fuels provide jobs for thousands now and will create thousands more jobs in the near future if they are allowed to succeed without the BIG-OIL lovers getting in there way.
  14. I bought a DeWalt saw there a little over a month ago and didn't buy the extended warranty. Tonight I returned the saw because I broke the handle off (plus some other things), they never even asked how it happened. Just that I had the receipt. They just told me to get another one off the shelf. I thought I'd be screwed without the warranty but it was no problem. I guess I'll have to shop there more now.
  15. I just wonder how many WWI vets are still around. I know there can't be many but there might be some.
  16. When we go to my aunt and uncles for a holiday dinner the joke is that we will have to pick shot out of our dinner. They almost never buy any meat, just bring something in from the back forty.
  17. I would soak it with gasoline and light with a match on the front yard.
  18. ( Let's not even talk about the geese.....) Yea tell me about it. I've used up five boxes of shells so far, shooting at them to keep them off my wheat fields this fall.
  19. Well aint he all high and mighty.
  20. 2479 It's what we refer to a dead person as around the fire department. Like calling hours at a furneral home 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
  21. A couple years ago I heard a call come in over the fire radio for a hanging in the woods on a near by farm. The caller saw the body from the interstate that runs along side the woods. At first I was a little alarmed because I'm pretty good friends with the people and they were having both family and financial trouble. It turned out that it was a dummy hanging in a tree that was left from a haunted hayride the holloween before. No one had taken it down and apparently no one noticed it all winter.
  22. I don't see how our subsities in the US make our wheat cheaper on the world market. As far as I know there is no export subsity. And trust me I aint getting rich raising wheat even with the help of Uncle Sam. Oh and by the way there was no payment on wheat this year. Market price is to high. 36,000 acres man and I have trouble enough with my 900.
