    Originally it was meant to go after P2P networks, but Hatch doesn't understand the technology and he is being pushed by Hollywood. They have led him to believe that all fair use needs to be changed to prevent any form of P2P new technology can bring. Therefore, backing up is not what the bill is designed for, however it can restrict it with the language they are using. Bascially they are trying to use a nuke to kill a fly without any concern of the damage it will cause. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me....     I'm worried...Hatch, in the lame duck session, is trying to get a bill pushed thru starting this week. From what I have read in Newsweek and WIRED (http://www.wired.com/news/politics/0,1283,65704,00.html)on this - if this passes it will effect all VCRs, DVRs, MP3 players, iTunes, cameras, camcorders, CD/DVD burners....or make it illegal to skip over your commercials while using a Tivo. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me....     There are some bad schools out there, and they get busted all the time. We've been around for 15 years and our efforts are supported by Mayor Daley's office, the Dept or Labor and the Illinois Dept of Employment Services.     Seven years of production for the same old same old? I fell asleep before my roommate came home with his copy of it last night, so I haven't seen it yet. All of the video clips I have seen of the gravity gun make me want to play it right now, but then I heard that weapon isn't in the multiplay version (at least until the mods roll out). I've been playing Halo 2 this week and other than looking really good, I'm not overly impressed. There is nothing new to it yet other than the fact I can hold two guns at once. Far Cry and Doom 3 were two of the best games I have played in a while because they did things that others haven't been able to do. Other than that I have been bored by the latest Silent Hill, Metal Gear, etc. Maybe this is why I have been playing those 80 games that come on the Atari Classics cd. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me....     No catch - we are an accredited school. By law if they take this voucher they cannot pay anything out of pocket to us. It's a federal offense if they do! No commission or anything on the job placement either. On top of that, we just had a large Fortune 500 company ask for all of the resumes of the students in one of our classes yesterday. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me....     They have to be incumbent IT workers with at least 4 years of experience and willing to stay in that field to qualify.     No real reason. The schedule is flexible since I am the one setting it up - plus we have job searching assistance.     Hopefully my setup will run it, otherwise I will have to wait for my roommate to get off of his system to play it on there.     Indecency is generally measured by local community standards. 3 people does not make a community. Does the few bozos that complained about the last viewings of Saving Private Ryan mean that affiliatates should fear sanctions this time around? I just found a story on NBC saying that many complaints had been filed and that an investigation is being looked at now.     We didn't have a problem with the speech - if we did you would never see us at the dropzone! I did it because I believe in freedom of speech. I am forcing the FCC to deal with their double standards of who gets fined and to come up with a better way of handling what is on the air and maybe show a little progress. The FCC is danger close to censorship and infringement on freedom of speech; this is the issue I have with them.     I am requesting a copy of the investigation that they did on several violations that I know of, including the one I complained about. I am curious to see what they did. What standards did they violate? There are no clear defined standards in the FCC book - its all subjective. If there was a clear defined rule/law then it would be quite ok to charge each and every offense. There are no real rules to break. There hasn't been an announcement on an investigation into ABC on Saving Private Ryan, an R rated movie that drops the F-bomb more than once. Bono said the F-bomb once and there was a huge fine. The author of this blog as well as those on several other sites, myself, livendive and others have filed complaints to the FCC about SPR.
