    No, I don't believe the majority of the 59 million that voted for him are religiously motivated. However, they are now being represented by someone that is. I'm pretty certain that all of them do not support faith based decisions for the direction of this country. My county voted 70% in favor of Kerry, and have liberal point of views or favor the economy over foreign affairs. However, they are now being represented by a religious minority that now holds power. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me....     That would be the 51% minority, right? J So you are saying that the 59 million that voted for Bush are ALL conservative religious types? I can name at least one person that voted for Bush that is agnostic and supports pro-choice. When I said minority - I was talking about those in charge that use the bible over the constitution to run this country. The bible does not accurately represent everyone in this country, nor does everyone live by its rules. This is very similar to what has been happening in Iran for years. BTW - as a reminder: Seperation of church/state was put in place to protect the State from influence of the church, not the other way around. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me....     Falluja fell to the conrol of the insurgents long before the Dem Convention. Bush could have ordered the attack on the city long before hand and it would have fallen into the rest of his war rhetoric while on the stump. However, it seems he let American troops die a couple a day instead of risking possible bad press during election. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me....     "About" to be taken care of? And why did we wait so long and let them take control of cities?     Karl Rove announced this morning that Bush will be trying to add a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage. And we have four more years with this guy now.     "Seem" has got nothing to do with it. We had an election, the results are in and it is clear cut, we can compare results with 2000 and arrive at well founded conclusions. What cracks me up is thoughts of the arguments you'd be putting forward if Kerry had won Ohio and the presidency on a minority of the popular vote. Split wouldn't be in your vocabulary. Go back two posts, "seem" is the word you used. Yup, Kerry was just 100k votes or so from winning the White House if he picked up Ohio.     It may "seem" that way but take a look at differnt polls out there. Bush's approval rating before the election was one of the lowest he had yet. In March of 2003 70 percent or so (IIRC) were for an invasion, and last time I checked over 50 percent had changed their opinion on the war and felt that we went in for the wrong reasons. The country is split. What really cracks me up is Bush's speech that he will unify the country - and in the next sentance says he will do it by getting them on board to his way of thinking. lol _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me....     If only they had democracy. The religious minority have the power and do everything possible to keep the liberals quiet and out of power.     Wow. Comments like that make me just scratch my head. Somehow you feel this is a good thing? Deny rights and benefits that others have just because it makes someone feel uncomfortable? Because it goes against their religious beliefs? It is hatred. It is bigotry. It is wrong. It is un American.     Huh? Going to the Tuna school of posts now? BTW - the Democracy movement there is well beyond just the students now. Last I heard, those that wanted democracy now outnumber the rest.     Golly Gee Whiz... You'd think that no politician in DC besides Bush and his crew has ever said anything about the threat of WMD's and Saddam supporting terrorism in Iraq? When dang near everyone of'em and the UN has stated exactly those concerns in the past. Bush is the one that went on national tv and claimed he hasnt made one mistake. That is a huge issue.     What? That would happen in this sport???? But, But, skydivers are such a close group and show such respect for each other! Who would do such a thing??? I've seen so much spouse and SO stealing in this sport that the lack of respect for other people's relationships has me thinking that dating whuffos is a much better option than dating a skydiving girl again. For such a close group there is almost zero trust. Then again - I'm open to have someone change my opinion.     I was happy all day today. Took some cool pictures (one is attached), played football, had a few beers, enjoyed some time with friends. Very relaxing day as well. Busted up my hand on a bad tackle, but it's nothing some tape and ice didn't fix up. Not more than 10 minutes ago I got a few drunk dials from some friends and had a a few good laughs. Wow, look at that - I guess we aren't angry all the time. Got any other theories and false beliefs you need shot down? That said. Bush has made plenty of mistakes. I believe his ascertation about WMDs and the connection of SH to OBL was also proved wrong.     I don't need books to tell me how to live my life. Some people may rely on other peoples written ideas but I do not. You discount education and the written word? Then does that mean you discount the Constitution and the Bill of Rights?     Rudy was on tv and was asked if he would take a cabinet position. He said "no" quite a few times. He said he is making plenty of money in his real estate plus it was time for him to spend time with his family. When asked about 2008 he said - ask me then. So, do you think I should believe Tuna's "guranteed" claim that most likely came from Drudge's page anyhow? Me?     It's not everyone on the Christian Right. As my posts on this thread prove, I do not in any way concur with Tuna's feelings. One thing I try not to be (but sometimes fail) is a hypocrite. I wish Mrs. Edwards a very quick and complete recovery as I wished the same for Pres. Clinton. Chris, I was trying to make a point. I hope you realize that. You and I don't see eye to eye on everything, but I've never doubted your moral base.     You will leverage someone's misfortune? Does the pain and suffering of others mean nothing to you? This is something the Christian Right, and those of morals enjoy? Apparently "morals" is a subjective term that has nothing to do with "love your neighbor." I guess this goes along with being pro-life and pro death sentence. Changing your religious and moral beliefs when they suit you.
