There is that term "political correctness" something that gets tossed out there when someone is showing they are afraid of their own opinion on something. A red flag for a closed mind. Paradigm. Look up the definition of that word. We need to change the paradigm around marriage. It has nothing to do with reproduction or marriage. That is what religion tells you what it is all about. So, which religion gets to make that choice? There isn't one religion that represents EVERY American, therefore you cannot use just one to force that choice upon the country. No. It is very fair comparing it to slavery. You had a bunch of ignorant, fat men that didn't want to pay for labor or do a real day of work. Plus, their African slaves became objects to them and they argued that slaves couldn't be educated, could pass on disease, and a thousand other ill-formed ignorant opinions. That paradigm was forced upon the public and it rapidly became alright to think about it ok by the masses. I'm sure the cotton famers claimed that Lincoln was just being politically correct by trying to free the slaves and to give them rights the rest of the country had. O.K. tell you what, I don't want to remove your right to skydive, I just want to force you to wear a cypres and have your name and fingerprints on file with the FBI. And Florida says they won't be able to count the absentee ballots until Thursday!! Say what!!?? Guys on CNN say that's about 250,000 votes. Bush is winning right now. If Kerry doesn't pull two or three of these states, Bush wins: IA, NV, PA, FL, OH. At the moment, it looks like Bush will win if those swing states don't swing to blue. OH, FL and PA are all too close to call right now. Interesting - my brother just got home. He is still registered back where we grew up. Apparently I am still on the voter list there!! That means I am registered in Chicago and in the burbs! BTW Rhino - with no real surprises yet, this early Kerry lead will not bode well for him. He needs to grab at least 12 votes from the swing states. It will boil down to PA, OH and FL. Whoever takes two of those three will most likely win. They will check those ballots starting tomorrow to see if you are eligible to vote. From my understanding this year, they will be counted.
