  1. ABSOLUTELY!! When I first started I asked what exercies I could do to help......my Jm laughed and said none, you dont need to for skydiving. WELL, HE WAS WRONG!! I recognize the need for strength, and especially flexibility training, but I don't have a good idea what to do for optimum benifits. As far as the nutrition goes, I know what a vital part it plays in animals' performance, I can only assume it links to humans, too. $55 I could handle now,, (not as a student), $75 is still too steep for me.
  2. Ann, Flea and Olav wrote the waffle head a note. Something involving a version of the FarSide cartoon.....I believe it was the teathercat one......well, it involves chains, jumping and levin in his rw suit.....teatherlevin I believe is what they called it. So anyway, waffle is already on her way, I believe they might need your help on video.......send her back with bluebonnets, tell levin it wa nice knowin him

    WELCOME to TEXAS!!!!!
  4. First week bummer, oh well. Second week, no way, pretty funny. Yeah about the third week, it was hysterical. Pulling off the load was pretty funny. I said well, at least Im getting closer! Thats why I can imagine the next one will be them holding me in the plane! Did I mention I got LOTS of packing time! That 290 doesnt seem so big anymore! Its all good. Id rather get to jump and play under canopy in good conditions. Theres always another weekend!
  5. Oh, no its not like that. Im really cool with it, its just so funny! I mean what are the chances 4 entire weekends in a row? ROFLMAO TRUST ME I was glad not to be in those winds! Ask the broken dude.
  6. Im sure Perot's personally modified Gulfstream can do the job just fine!
  7. What did I do to piss of the weather gods???? I graduated and did my first solo jump. The next day I try to jump, but am winded out. And thus is how it goes for the next FOUR WEEKS! After refreshing emergency training since I was now uncurrent, I manifest for a load. Weather is GREAT. Forcast is GREAT. 5 minutes to boardin the plane, it starts gusting over 20mph! At first it was an inconvenience, now its just too damn funny! Next I suppose I will be on the plane and have the pilot tell me everyone but me can go! I am ready for anything! My silver lining........lots of packing practice!
  8. I asked the why queston myself and was told it was part of the contract when it was bought. But, then again, it could be a rumor tooooo????? LOL

  10. I dunno Chuck, looks like you are already nuts. Tee heeeeeeeeeee
  11. Some resourceful people go to Slappies web site to get there when the link is not up on the pub.......
  12. Oh, eh, Don't forget the "Charlie's Angels" music for the video.
  13. Orrrrr, Plan B Waffle and I come to visit......send waffle after the dude.......she'll herd him back to us and circle around him to keep him in place..........THEN we bring out Skeet to stand one inch in front of him holding his lil remote car.....Great Dane barking right in his face.....oh and we will hold him on a frayed leash that always makes 'em nervous. Oh, and we will do this not in your yard (it can be messy). Orrrrrrr Plan C Waffle and I come to visit......send her after the intruder.......heh ever seen the police dogs?? She learned well, nothin like a big wolf looking dog barking and snarling its fool head off an inch away from your body. Again not in your yard, less clean up that way! For extra measure, maybe we will send her to tackle him and stand on top of him snarling and growling. You got the video ready??? Im calling Delta right now!
  14. Now, son, your mouth is writing checks your body can't cash Sorry Zen, Top Gun was just on tv!
  15. OK, I guess I needed to be a little bit more specific. The canopy is a Skymaster, the rear risers are very easily manipulated - part of the reason I was so surprised at the inability to pull front risers. I love my canopy time, I enjoy playing around with it up high. The front riser thing is on our little yellow card thingy, so I figured might as well try it if I could. Oh, and by "up high" I mean above 2000. I pull at 6000 and play around untill 2000, from that point, I only do turns as necessary to bleed of altitude while I am setting up for my landing. Thanks everyone for your help!
  16. LOL, so I am not the only one who forgets to ask these questions while all the instructors are around! After that jump I was a little distracted, so I completely forgot about the front riser thing. Rear risers have never been any dificulty for me.
  17. RELAX!! The safe ones. Just learning the canopy up high. How much strength should be needed to perform these on a 290 canopy loaded ~.7?? Just a curious question, I tried last week and the darn thing didn't even twitch! I just want to know if I should keep trying harder or give up cause its impossible. Thanks (Knowing of course nothing is impossible!)
  18. I agree. One quote I saw somewhere (dont remember, probably on a monument), but has always stuck with me: For those who fought, freedom has a taste the protected will never know. (As closely as I can recall)
  19. OOH, OOOH, PICK ME!! PICK ME!!! I dont take up much room, I SWEAR!! Kinda hard to shut me up though!
  20. {shrugs} I got to agree with Levin on this one. Some things were written by both parties intentional or not, and each got offensive. We are human, it happens. It is also hard to read a post and not insert our own idea of the authors attitude. That having been said, when you get in a fight at the bar, do they throw out the guy who the other one says started it? Um, NO, both of you get the same treatment. Its the only way to keep it fair and unbiased. Oh, and DAMN, all this time, till someone else pointed it out, I thought your name was SangRIo!! I swear! Im sorry HH!
  21. OMG!!! HELLOO!!! MCFLY!!! Not to sound insensitive.........BUT Last I checked, we are at WAR, which rougly translated means if you can't hang with the big dogs, STAY ON THE PORCH!! For every Daniel Pearl there is, there are hundreds of soldiers whose names we do not know in the same position. He was in a hostile area and not a trained person for that. Does anyone else see a recipe for disaster?? Leave the war games to the professionals (which even die with their years of training) and do not muck things up by gettin caught. Yes the numbers of journalists who die is large, but so is that of our soldiers. Why do you think the enemies want the reporters so bad, they are easy targets! In my opinion, there are ways to keep the public informed other than being in that situation. Again, sorry if this comes off as insensitive.
  22. Bad news: It happens. A Lot. Good news: Those of us it happened to share in your view. We are gonna give back till it hurts! Maybe it is a blessing in disguise! (NOT that it makes it right, or pisses me off any less)
