Orrrrrr, you could donate the jump money to an able-bodied student who would be sure to jump for you! (No one in particular *wink*wink) But, if you insist on keeping your money, plan on getting "whuffo neck" like I did at the boogie LOL. Get better soon! -Wendy PS. I was THIS close to jumping the CASA, but I, instead, got the Cessna! LOL. That was an adventure!
  2. OK, I was wonderin that myself....its such a BIG OPEN area....bigger than Raeford. I thought I had a better chance of landing "on" there, given my distance perception problem LOL. I dunno, though, havent had to spot for myself there yet. Those of you who were "off" please enlighten the newbie student (me) THANK YOU!!
  3. Dude, the weather here is BEAUTIFUL right now. You wont freeze, I jumped last week and I was fine (and I HATE to be cold). CSS is about 2 hours from Raeford. Stick to 95 and 40 and it will go faster....getting hung up in the inbetween towns sucks! If you need specific directions, let me know. I hope to be there, but I just moved back up here, so I dont know many people at CSS *yet*! The ones I met last week were incredibly nice! Safe travels, and JUMP YOUR ASS OFF!!!
  4. I KNOW it would injure me, silly, I was being a smartass (those of you who know me are shocked, I am sure!)! :-) We want to find somebody who knows how to do it....neither of us are great enough mathematicians to figure all the hoo-ha out on our own LOL. I thought here would be my starting place.
  5. Where can I find information on how to *safely* jump from a Piper Cherokee??? The concern we have is how to get me below the tail wing thingy. Not because it might injure me, but that it might render the pilot unable to fly!! Thanks in advance!
  6. OK, so the good news is, after pluggin around.....total repair cost $1250! Umm, provided nothing else is broken LOL. Best news of all is my company is footing the repair bill....business expense/Christmas bonus! All I had to pay for was the tow! I am glad to see, however, that I am not crazy (for the most part) and that I have a "support group" of fellow addicts! I do, however, think that when the time has come for a new car, the only appropriate burial for my current car is one of those as seen on the skydiving videos! I will keep you posted! Thank you to everyone!
  7. So as a newbie, today I think I encountered the realization that skydiving is my true addiction. Saturday on the way home from the DZ, the car went kaput, or kaplooey, hard to tell. Verdict from the mechanic today.........engine locked up (and YES there was oil in it! ~180,000miles did it in) As he's telling me repair costs, $3000 for engine $900 labor, blah, blah, blah.....all I could think of was "that could be my rig!" So then I start to think, do I really need the car??? I mean I could try to buy lift tix over work and dive in, but how would I get back home???? Hmmmmmm, well the decision has to be to fix the car....its my way to the DZ. Do I need to have my head examined? Or is this a normal. First step is to acknowledge the addiction...um.....so I hear........

Heeeyyyy, wait a minute, where can I get one of those no-spill alcohol containers???? Do they sell those online somewhere??? Gonna go check.........
  9. OK, so Im a "brand"-newbie and would like to know if anyone has any first jump stories they would like to share. Good, bad, funny, whatever, I would be interested to hear....um...I mean read. Thanks! -The newbie who plans to tell the instructors that since it was late in the day and I was hungry, decided to try vegetarianism on the landing (hey the cows seem to like it!)
