I feel your pain Emmie. I got that lecture on my second jump. Grrrrr. We are learning. Some are better than others, but it doesnt mean we are impossible! Your JM was not the same jumper as a student he/she is today I ASSURE YOU OF THAT!!! Don't get discouraged because someone else says that. I switched DZs and the folks there are much nicer to students, and much more complimentary (and i never told them about the other place). If you love this, and you want to do it, keep at it!! It will pay off in the end! PS-Have you ever heard Abe Lincolns story?

OK, I know I don't know you, but just thought I would throw in a couple of things for you to ponder (I have been in a similar situation). The "answer" is not the same for everyone...its all up to what YOU are willing to take/endure. It sounds vaguely like this girl wants to have her cake and eat it too. Someone from her past is stirring up the waters, well, guess what, it happens often. She is appeasing him by taking time off from you (it sounds like). Do you want to be with someone who does that or someone who says I dont care what we had, I am with someone I love and am going to marry, etc, etc, crawl back into the whole you came out of! I mean, when you are married, is she going to react the same if someone else starts stirring things up? And again, and again? In my humble opinion, you need to explore your feelings/needs. As far as the job goes, I would stick to what kept me happy, it is sooo much more valuable (and hard to find) than a big check. If you are even considering a drastic change, doesnt that tell you something?? Tough spot to be in, but remember, there are no stumbling blocks in life, only stepping stones! You don't know what (or who) else might be out there. PS. I dont want this to sound preachy, but just to get you to ask yourself the tough questions.

Yes, it was AFF. For the first time, I saw the other jumpers in freefall! And, as I was about to pass through a cloud, a circular rainbow on the top of it. NEAT! Man, all the stuff Ive been missing!

Yeah, see, thats the funny part! I asked one of the guys about beer (the biggest beer whore of them all) and he said NO! No beer, spend your money on jumps for a while, buy beer later . Well, if HE said so! LOL I probably still will though!

Yes, no check, no package! That doesn't guarantee you the check is good, mind you! But, UPS, FEDEX, AIRBORNE EXPRESS all have that policy. Hope that helps!

Its not really a joke, but my ground school guy told me on my first AFF jump, when we were in the air and had done the COA and PRCPs to look at my reserve JM questionably and give HIM the arch signal. I chickened out (that Jm didnt have such a good sense of humor), but maybe someone else may get a kick out of it.

I was told that a deploying reserve might be enough to dislodge" the main from the rig = 2 out = not good Mav. Maybe I misunderstood.
