Still unable to jump, so........ Went flying around in a lil piper (wtf....seats????) Went deep sea fishing in the gulfstream (WHOA flying fish EVERYWHERE) Got to drive the boat Caught fish as long as I am tall (almost) Ate Mahi Mahi and Oahu (spelling? sounds like WAHOOOOOO!) that I caught Played in the ocean On the way in from the ocean, got the itch for jumping again, but no plane.......so....... crawled up to bow of boat, grabbed a hold of bar with left hand and poised self "into the wind", asked the capt'n to speed it up to 90 knots...he just laughed ...looks from the coast guard as we blew past their boat..PRICELESS! I am by no means an expert, nor even close, but I will say this: As a newbie I appreciate learning about the different manufacturers and their products. Lets face it, there are a handful of companies and a large number of products. Helmets, jumpsuits, altimeters, containers, mains, reserves...thats a lot of stuff! Many people rely on what a few others say or get what they see the other jumpers using. For example, all the containers at our DZ are made by manufacturer X....and many of the newer jumpers buy that container, while it may be excellent, I realize it cannot be the only one. Differences in the way things are manufactured and the standards to which the manufacturer sets for themselves is very important to me. As a newbie, I have ZERO idea of what to ask, and what all is involved. My riggers, who are absolutely wonderful, have a better idea but I realize they cannot know all the differences in all products. I think the manufacturers have the best position to tell us all about their product. That having been said, I realize also when I am getting a sales pitch. If a manufacturer tells me of a certain feature their product has, it is my responsibility to then inquire why that makes a difference and do my comparison shopping. I thank Dan for pointing out several differences in the canopies and giving me something to think about when the time comes for me to make that decision. Blind faith is dangerous.....question everything! I'm not stubborn, I'm high-spirited!

I gotta say on my first tandem the freefall portion went quite fast! Im hangin out enjoying the view and suddenly we are vertical! Going through student progression at a very busy DZ, I geared up with and sat next to soooo many tandems in the plane and watched their videos after the jump. One of the girls actually covered her face with her hands and turned her head away from the camera (probably because she was crying). Other than the couple that said that is was great (with the o my god we are never doing this agian look on their face) I think those are the only ones who didnt enjoy it much! Thanks guys! I disconnected everything and drained it well (ps, this goes better when the lil valve do hickey is open!). My difficulty was in which part am I unscrewing?? Like where is the element? It all looks the same when you have no idea what you are looking at. I ventured to the home place and got a rip off little metal pipe they call a wench. Seems it will work better for me! Will try as soon as I get up the nerve! Oh, and looked at some of the replacement elements so now I know what to be tuggin on! Thanks again everyone!! I'm not stubborn, I'm high-spirited!

Arrrrrghhhhhhhhhhhhh So I set out to change the blown element in the hot water heater before going to the dz. Long story short, its been all day and still no element out gggggggrrrrrrrrr. Anybody here changed these things?? Im lookin online for help but im not sure if I am tuggin on the right thing?
