I'd like to add : sometimes the 'impossible' happens. I truly believe running scenarios, no matter how 'impossible', through our minds helps train our minds to problem solve. In a sport with very little time/room for error I consider it a necessity. None of us knows just what will happen next, and knowing I had thought through it or a similar instance when I had time to do it thoroughly makes my deciscion making a lot sharper (I think anyways). Speaking of 'what if'.....wheres our next list, Hooknswoop? Life is not fair and there are no guarantees...

[jumping up and down and waving hands wildly] Oooooo Oooooooo PICK ME PICK ME!!!!!! I would like to say I know both Chris and Jason (even though you didn't respond to my BASE PM ) I know the tension that exists between the 2 dropzones involved. As a jumper at CSS, I heard quite a few negative comments (slander? hmmm) about the other. I have not visited Chicago (despite the plethera of invitations) yet, so I cannot comment on it. I would only like to point out if Chris had intended to slander Paul he could do so in quite the glorious fashion. In my opinion, he just stated facts, which may have been taken out of context due to personal bias (what is the plural of that word?? ) He did not bring up the rapid turnover of instructors, the turnover of jumpers, and about a million other hard facts he knows. I am not going to post them here because the fire has already started and it would only add fuel. I do know my personal experiences with 4 US DZs and I make my own opinions and decisions based on them. Oddly enough, quite a few 'heads up' jumpers and I share the same opinions. As a conscientious (STAND BACK- Im using big words! -uh, did I spell it right???) jumper, I consider all the facts about a dropzone and its owners, aircraft, pilots, and jumpers---and I come to my own conclusions! (GASP!) The facts Chris brought out did not change my opinion of any part of CSS, and I dont't expect it to for anyone else who has done their homework. OK, Im headed back out to the farm, and Jason, I STILL haven't seen the arrest video Life is not fair and there are no guarantees...

Did you hear about this guy killing himself in a chatroom?

I think they supported HER not her decision. But, I could be wrong. Life is not fair and there are no guarantees... -

I am not going to tell you my stance on this subject....rather I will ask you to dig a little deeper.... If you truly supported a friends decision...could you help them commit suicide??? I mean if you are truly ok with it, could you hold the needle and syringe and inject the drug??? Or maybe 'modify' their rig a bit????? Just food for thought. Still waiting on the complete details on why it could have happened. Excellent gear and pin check by myself, rigger and another experienced jumper on the ground, pin check in plane before jumprun (after standing up, so no movement to dislodge) Demoing a canopy so opened main at 4000, reserve popped shorlty after (can i say i will NEVER forget that sound, feeling, or sight). My hand with the cutaway pillow was at full extension as the reserve came overhead to the tail of the main. Exciting landing sensation since the reserve is smaller than the smallest canopy I have flown ...but one of my best landings yet ! I guess sometimes shit happens ya know? 1 priceless trip to SC to watch some BASE jumps:1 jump: 1 case for resulting first reserve ride. The weather moved in and kicked the ass of the rest of the weekend. Will try again this weekend
-
Pam, You know you are more than welcome And I thank you for all your help I wish you had been there Saturday with the video camera though to catch my landing, but also the looks on the faces of the people when they realized I was bookin in with no winds under a 218 reserve Surprisingly, one of my best landings yet! So next weekend the beer fridge is gonna be full...on me....you guys need to be there Life is not fair and there are no guarantees...

AHEM....... She had TWO good landings Where's the other one ???????????????(with my voice edited out )

Michelle, Try with one of the more calm kitties first, so you can get the method and then you can just pounce on BK. Start with large towel/blanket from BEHIND the cat drape over back leaving a little bit of the head exposed. Quickly wrap the front corners around the neck snugly so she cant wriggle her legs up through. Then 'tuck' /roll the rest under her. For extra support, stradle said cat at the shoulders with thighs, with your lower legs and feet at her rump to prevent her from sliding out to the back. In the middle of a scream/hiss/yowl, insert small amounts of liquid, as we wouldnt want her to drown! I also have a pshyco cat that turns into a shredding octopus when scruffed, so I can relate For less stress, I reccommend giving her her own room, skip one meal, then place meds in food. Tuna juice works well, or the cheapest, nastiest smelling fishy canned food from the grocery store. Life is not fair and there are no guarantees...
-
fish oil? lord, just drain the water from the tuna can and mix it in...and close the other cats in or out of the room till BK devours it all! Life is not fair and there are no guarantees...

see above : birdie burrito sidenote: research birds are a billion times worse to medicate than pets Life is not fair and there are no guarantees...

Very good tigra...this is how we vet techs choose to do it When they refuse to eat the food, or eat all of it, a 'reserve' option is to wrap said kitty snugly in LARGE towel/blanket/etc all but the head. A kitty burrito (also great for birds, but then called the birdie burrito) then at least the claws are out of the equation...and they are ususally so focused on wrigling out you can surprise a bit of liquid into the corner of their mouths PM me if you need more ideas! Here Here!! Buy this man a BEER! I absolutely agree. Think back, when asked, didn't most of us say we would like to go out skydiving.....if you think we are in awe over our little bit of sky...think about being up in a craft all the way in space, with Earth as just a small dot....now with that visual and experience under your belt, all that is left to ask is that it be quick. Just my opinion though. Life is not fair and there are no guarantees...

ROFLMFAO!!!!!!!! Thanks for that, Matt, I needed that laugh... Life is not fair and there are no guarantees...

While on a flight to Orlando, when I was still wearing my wrist cast thing, a flight attendant came by and asked 'in your condition will you be able to operate the exit door', my answer, 'absolutely'. As the attendant walked away I asked the person seated next to me (also a skydiver) if I should mention he might want to ask the person actually SEATED in the exit row (the one behind us) the same question , mumbling 'in my condition BLAH'. He politely raises his hand and gets the attendants attention. Once he walks all the way up to our seats, the guy tells him, she can open the door no problem, its crawling over the seat to get to I think might be an issue. The attendant stood there dumbfounded and then chided me for letting him walk away. I told him I just answered his question, and YES I could operate an exit door. I just chose not to point out it would have been a more appropriate question directed at the person in the next row humph 'in my condition' Edited to add, the surrounding laughter from the other passengers was priceless. If this is your Eloy video, its a sure thing that everyone was aware there was video running. At times, I counted 3-4 cameras running at the same time. Like I said before, public place....fair game. Life is not fair and there are no guarantees...

If this person did a secret spy operation to get said pix with no ones knowledge, then I say let the bastard FRY. BUT, if we are talkin about pix that were taken, regardless of content, with the knowledge of the subject or in a public place, then I say its fair game. May not make people happy, but if you are going to do something in public be an adult and be prepared that it may surface in the future at an inopportune time.
