  1. If it is American will it be from one of the big three?
  2. I know a mass murderer. I didn't really pal around him much, but I was at a couple of parties where he was. I know Craig Girard. If you know Craig that makes you 2 degrees separated from a mass murderer. You monster.
  3. That help must come from Africans, there is no other choice. Zimbabwe will welcome European help the same way the Americans would have accepted the British coming in to clean up their civil war. The problem is that Mugabe is a Pan African liberation hero and seems to be untouchable. Very sad.
  4. Many theologians would disagree. Faith is its own purpose, and its own reward. Certainly these people believe that God or whoever want them to do good works (feed the poor, prostelatize the good news, kill the fags, stone rape victims, whatever), but certainly faith is the necessary if not the sufficient condition to enlightenment/salvation. There are many people who do not go to church, do not pray, but if asked will honestly say they believe. I do not doubt them. I would accuse them of intellectual laziness, but I would not doubt that they honestly accept the basic concept of the almighty.
  5. So this bill is good for GM, do you think it's good for Ford? I mean Ford is stressed, but what they need to do is sell more cars. This bill will do nothing to make Americans buy more cars. However if GM were to go down, that would not make America buy less cars, they would just buy more from Ford among others. Just a thought.
  6. It is really hard to get a grip on why this is happening. The cop who pulled the trigger is being charged with murder. In most (sensible) countries that would be enough to stop the riots. There are some reports that it is helped along by the economic problems, but since the recession is just getting going I find it hard to believe that this type of reaction is to be expected. There seems to be a significant segment of Greek society that is permanently unaligned with the society who are taking advantage. The closest comparison I can think of is the anarchists in Seattle a few years ago who accelerated the WTO protests into a destructive riot that most of the participants never planned on, but this is a lot more pronounced. As far as the effects upon NATO go I think you are correct that there is a high probability that the government will fall and that the left will not help in Afghanistan.
  7. It was a completely disgusting ruling. Since these people have been declared officially disabled I guess the airline has to give them two meals as well. I wonder if they have a right to an extra lobster for the price of one when they go out to eat. One more reason for the airlines to go to a strict you+all your bags on the scale and pay by the pound policy, just like the cargo industry.
  8. What, he thinks he's Yoda or something? He was three years before Star Wars; What does Yoda think he's Petit or something?
  9. Take your weight, add the weight of the rig and your clothes, that is your exit weight. If that is more that 160 lbs. then yes, it is too small. You will no doubt find people that will tell you that you can do it because you are above average, but the truth is that above average canopy pilots pay the same for their wheelchairs as everyone else. Do a search on here for "wing loading."
  10. So if GM goes down, won't that help Ford? The truth is there is not enough room for the big three any more at anywhere near their current size. Propping GM an Chrysler up just helps to insure that Ford will not be able to find their own way out.
  11. OK the guy from the Juicy Fruit commercial needs to make an appearance. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bh7TPuF7eqk
  12. Yeah I don't miss that shit one little bit! Come on down to Mexico, I should have my house this week and there's always a sofa to crash on for a fellow Canadian. The bad news is the closest DZ is Skydive San Marcos at 5 hours away Dude, Where are you living?
  13. That is not sure at all. Neither of these scenarios covers the dog shit/tapeworm larvae theory.
  14. Why would you say that? The Cowboys have one of the best offenses in the league, and 13 points is hardly "getting shown up." Great football for the most part. Cowboys have some discipline problems they need to address. Not just the penalties, but their lack of organization during hurry up play on both sides of the ball. Gonna have to look out for the Eagles for the remainder; they are definitely back on their game.
  15. I'm not an American and I got 30 right. If you scored below hang your head. I got the 1st amendment wrong. The Gettysburg address, and Roosavelt threatening to appoint more competent judges.
  16. The truth is he is not being suspended for offending two women. He is being suspended for taking the pre-game rivalry to a place the league does not want it to go; to a place that has revenge as a topic; to a place where a repeat of the Bertuzzi-Moore incident is possible. The league is trying to present an image. This guy is not only fucking with that image, but doing so in a way that has pissed the rest of the players off so much that they won't defend him. Some players around the league were quoted wishing they hadn't suspended him until after the game so Pfaneuf could get to him first. THIS is exactly what the league does not want.
  17. Really? Would you suspend someone for an ethnic comment? A racist one?
  18. The key here is that he went after the girlfriend of his opponent. This was a blatant violation of "the code." His own teammates have condemned him for this. The comments tend towards, " that kind of talk is ok on the ice, but not in public." It sounds like they don't want him back in the room. BTW his contract states (page 2, article 2 (e) he agrees "to conduct himself on and off the rink according to the standard of honesty, morality, fair play and sportsmanship, and to refrain from conduct detrimental to the best interest of the Club, the league, or professional hockey." Their is talk the Stars may try to void his contract.
  19. The correct term is prorogation. It is a legitimate tool, although not usually used for this purpose. The Prime Minister has gotten used to a gutless, denuded opposition but he pushed them too far so they are all banding together to defeat him. The problem with the prorogation is that he has declared war against all the other parties and he will not be able to get his budget through in January without at least one of them.
  20. Really? Maybe you feel 40 but since this is the first time you have been 40 you expected it to feel different. That would make sense since your expectations were formed when you were younger.
  21. So are you in the Mafia? Or are you just one of their victims? Can you smell the toxic waste dumps from your house? Texas carries pretty strong stereotypes, but I grew up thinking that if you lived in Jersey you were clearly a loser.
  22. It requires three-fifths (if all 100 seats are filled). ...three fifths of the votes cast, of those present, or of the seats filled?
