Nova's judgment day: Intelligent design on trial

Who ever told you that? Annihilation or fission explosions are examples of matter being destroyed. -
Where should I move to? (and how is SoCal?)

Don't lose site of that, it's a keeper. -

That right there is a stunt that I was taught is now forbidden by UPT (even though it's in the manuals) when I took the sigma tandem course. Arms crossed promotes a de-arched body position, which makes the tandem more prone to side spin. Not really a modern tandem fly exit position, is it?

Maybe he a "don't ask don't tell" agnostic.

There ..fixed it for you Mike Still a southerner at heart arntcha?

This is so true. It is largely due to the manufacturers' policy of crucifying the TM when things go wrong.

Nova's judgment day: Intelligent design on trial

What would suck even more is if you spent your whole life sacrificing your self for the wrong god. I mean wouldn't it suck being kicked in the face at the gates of Valhalla because you were a Christian. -
Nova's judgment day: Intelligent design on trial

I believe the search for God can be scientific just as the search for extraterrestrial intelligence. To be scientific however the researcher must approach the problem without the preferred answer in the bottom right hand corner. The researcher must be prepared to conclude that the research has further made the argument against the existence of either extraterrestrial intelligence or of divine intelligence, depending on the experiment. If our schools were teaching extraterrestrial intelligence as a given, I would be upset to the point of taking political action. I think your comparison is very valid. -

I understand the sentiment, but that type of justice system leads to multi-generational blood feuds. Edited to add: Since he was innocent I guess you are OK with the guy's brother blowing the shooters head off eh? I mean you would be OK with the guy's family protecting him while he is being shot. Right?

How much is a jump ticket at Paraclub Champlain? -
I would have to say that the guy who shot the victim in the back of the head might carry some of the blame.

I am not opposed to the wife facing charges, but the concept of the husband defending his wife by shooting someone in the back of the head while on public land. Yep. Only in Texas.

I think this really only affects England. The Scots have not allowed happiness of any kind since the reformation, have they?

Hmm, do Mods not get the "message already posted" screen?

Of the 23 million people in Texas 5.2M live in metro Dallas-Fort Worth, 4.6 live in metro Houston. Add in San Antonio 1.6M and Austin at 1.3M and you have half the population in big cities.

Sure, go ahead and do the experiment. Way to kill the thread John.

You are correct. A quote from PD's publication on wingloading: Different canopy models of the same size may perform differently, but they will fly approximately the same speed. Wing loading is the biggest determinant of speed. A Stiletto 190 is not really faster than a Sabre 190, or even a PD 190! Other aspects of performance will be different, however. (Turn rate, glide angle, etc.) These differences may influence a person’s impression of speed. http://performancedesigns.com/docs/wingload.pdf While I don't dispute John's point, yours is off topic. We are discussing different sized canopies, not different models. A Sabre 2 135 at 1:1 is going much faster than a Sabre 2 190 at 1:1. Does it also turn faster? Yes it does. Does it lose more altitude in a 180 degree turn? not sure. -
You are saying this is caused by the laterals and not the diagonals being too tight? Can you elaborate. It is not obvious to me.
-
No they don't They just need civilized value exposure on a continuous basis to continue. Most of the racists in the American south are over it (or almost over it), another generation will do it. It's not like your country is without blemish, but they are over it (or almost over it).

The DZ I started at went through a phase where there were a lot of women at the DZ. At one point there were more women than men. I remember saying where I was from to this dude at the convention (1990) and his response was "Oh, I've heard of there. That's the place with all the chicks." The truth is that during that ephemeral period the vast majority of jumps were still being done by men; we had more female members but they did not jump as much. As I look back I can only think of two of those women who still jump.

There is a general consensus that the standard wing loading arguments are for average size people and that they should be more stringently followed for smaller people, and less so for big people. The reason for this is that a smaller canopy goes faster at a given wing loading than a larger one at the same loading. -
