  1. Who's to say, you may be right. Or those plants may have resulted from the process of genetic mutation and natural selection of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil over time. I have not seen much good come from those plants in terms of spiritual/personal growth. .............. Yes, sadly I have seen many people lose their minds and become invalids as well.
  2. Seriously? Possibly Ford. Sure. The only one never actually elected. At least 50% of the candidates were not elected. Oh good point.
  3. You give meaningless persons too much credit. "The dark side" of skydiving was, is and shall ever be the satanic twisting of our fair sport from its normal orientation on our bellies into unnatural head down positions that would send shivers down the spine of any God fearing soul. Furthermore the usage of demonic 'lift' a la Furnarianic positions not only destroys our sport, it imperils your soul. edited for the spelling of the beast.
  4. Kinda sounds like Farquard doesn't it. Isn't that the dipshit prince from Shrek? Yep. i was thinking about that earlier today (before I saw this thread), thinking that that was where the villain's name probably came from.
  5. Given how hard she fell on healthcare reform last time I would think it incredibly gutsy for Obama to give her that portfolio again. Personally I think some bench time is a necessary qualification for SC, but then again I don't get to make that call.
  6. I think you are right about AG. I have my doubts about SC, specifically wrt the axe swinging traits of her personality. I think she likes the camera a bit to much for SC as well. I don't think she would be a good choice.
  7. Roast leg of lamb with baked potatoes, peas, squash and that dark, dark lamb gravy.
  8. What do people think? Is she a good choice? Personally I think she will be. She seems more hawkish than Obama, more Hawkish than her husband. This is a plus for a Dem president. The only real problem is with a Jewish CoS, adding a New York State senator at State might be seen to favour Isreal a bit too much to be helpful in the middle east.
  9. Kinda sounds like Farquard doesn't it.
  10. The worldwide economic turn down is so complicated that no one knows how to best mitigate the short term effects, and there is more disagreement on how to fix the long term issues. Although there could reasonably be a confidence "bounce" domestically, the rest of the world is less likely to respond to non specific US conditions. The overwhelming support expressed for Obama outside the US had more to do with US foreign policy and less to do with economics. The truth is Obama has shown signs of being very left in his economics, but what he will actually do is largely an unknown. He will no doubt support the Europeans' calls for greater financial regulation, but he (and the new congress) may push policies that hinder trade. The world markets will definitely not like that. I think when he names his treasury secretary that will be a meaty thing that the ROW will react to.
  11. I take it you are not factoring out the drug/gang/domestic dispute murders in the Canadian cities. If you were your your claim would fail.
  12. You will come in much faster. Remember speed creates lift, but it just happens faster. The big thing is that you will lose way more altitude on your last turn than you expect.
  13. It continues to astound me how long it takes officials in your country to count ballots. We had an election last month; every ballot in the country was hand counted by midnight pacific. Five ridings needed recounts which were completed (again by hand) within a few days.
  14. Canada has a system that is virtually identical to the UK's. We are now in our third consecutive minority government. The idea of coalitions to form a government is more of a proportional representation thing, but the Government relies on the active or tacid support of at least one party for survival on every vote.
  15. Hey, don't you think it is important that Larry Hill get subsidized electricity for his tunnel? i guess it's an agricultural tunnel.
  16. a G4 if they would get off their butt and finish the MARD. Either that or just pay Bill the $$$ and install the skyhook. Failing that a Micron.
  17. That is affirmative. Neither CSPA nor Transport Canada require skydiving equipment to meet any given standards.
  18. (Sigh) 121 replies and not one on topic. What did you think of the film? Do you think we can find a cure for Christianity some day?
  19. Cheap oil will help create a strong economy, but expensive commodities are the sign of a strong economy.
  20. All yes, regardless of country or creed. Any countries veterans deserve thanks. I think of all of them on Veteran's Day. I think of all those who fell in battle on Memorial Day also. It is not the same. In UK and most of the Commonwealth the focus of Armistice day is the fallen. I agree with your premise, but it is just one of those things that the US chose what is remembrance day to the rest of us as Veteran's day.
  21. In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved, and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields. — Lt.-Col. John McCrae Their names liveth forevermore.
  22. never went to Burning Man did you ? Hey if they do it at burning man it must be mainstream.
  23. The one world government is coming. It has been coming hard ever since WWII. Neurembourg, United Nations, Breton Woods, The World Bank/IMF The European Steel and Coal Community/EEC/EU, NAFTA, APEC, NPT, World Court, Kyoto Protocol, are all steps along the road. This crisis will produce some international agreements that will form another piece of the puzzle but I think it is unlikely that it will be seen as the precipitous event that brought the OWG together.
  24. I don't understand the units. $0.10/w for the life of the unit? for the life of the fuel? Are those the same thing? how long is that?
  25. To me it screams why conversions kill. Only instructors with rip cord mains on their own rigs should make your argument.
