Question about the Electoral College System
Andrewwhyte replied to ianmdrennan's topic in Speakers Corner
Changing the constitution to abolish the EC according to the formula set out by those wise men would detract from neither the country's constitutionality nor its republicanism. The constitution is not sacred; that is why it has an amending formula. -
And the difference is?

Ask the folks in Zimbabwe about that.

I disagree completely. The rigger certifies that it is good to go the day he closes it. If the rule changes will the rigger's behavior change. Our experience in Canada has been that riggers behave exactly the same. If something needs to be mended or changed a conciencious rigger will do it at the time of repack. The FAA rule currently talks about the time since the last repack. If the only change in the language is the number of days since it was packed then all currently packed rigs will follow the new rule. For any sort of phasing in, it will have to be specifically mentioned in the change.

Well around here fag breaks are generally not allowed except during scheduled breaks. I am a bit perplexed as to why the company would not, as a matter of course, allow people to schedule their breaks to coincide with their personal preferences. That said if a large enough group wanted exactly the same time off for their prayer break so that the capital assets would have to be idled I could see the company saying no. An extreme example would be all the air traffic controllers at a particular TRACON demanding a break at sunset; I wouldn't be in favour of that, especially if I was on an inbound flight. A couple of years ago I had a Christian employee who always wanted time to go to mass on Sunday mornings. The only logical thing to do was to give it to her when I could manage without her, and refuse it when it interfered with the operation. Occasionally I was inconvenienced because she was the only one who could fly the big plane, but generally the payoff of having a happier employee more than compensated.

Some day the raiders may be worthy of hating; until then, only pathos. Other than the 41 they managed tonight.

Don't be such a hater.

Nothing her parents do make it ok to use an adolescent's private matters as political fodder. The mother may deserve it; the point is the daughter doesn't.
