a lot of US based multi-nationals would lose a lot of contracts. Politicians would lose their jobs The price of food would crash in the US; a lot of people would lose their farm. Politicians would lose their jobs. Politicians would have a lot less money to campaign with. A lot of lobbyists would lose their jobs. Ain't gonna happen.

Should Europe and the rest of the world disarm the USA
Andrewwhyte replied to Skyrad's topic in Speakers Corner
That's probably true. However, don't forget that when California fell behind on their electricity payments a couple of years ago we turned it off. -
My mistake. In Canada members of the bar are exempt, as are all other officers of the court and all civil servants. My point remains, jury duty puts an unfair burden upon wage earners and the self employed.

Since you list Burnaby as your home DZ and the only dz in Ontario offering static line training is Skydive Toronto inc., I will guess that those are the options you are looking at. First you should know that the staff at both DZs have reputations across he country for being first rate; which ever route you chose you will be with good people. As others have already said both methods offer their own advantages. In my opinion AFP gives you the big advantage of learning while doing during the freefall part of the skydive. I have spent a lot of time on coach jumps trying to correct poor body positions that students adopted during standard progression jumps. If money is really available I would do your tandem jumps, paying close attention to the canopy part of the jumps, then go down to the tunnel in New Hampshire for 1/2 hr of training with an AFF instructor, followed by the AFF part of the program. Once you have your solo certificate get some canopy coaching right away; Burnaby is the national leader in canopy flying hands down, there will be some great coaches there. Just my opinion.

Yes I would imagine that it does piss you off that while you earn your six figure salary the basically unpaid conscriptees do not willingly do their part. For most people jury duty is a financial burden, but of course you wouldn't know about that because you are exempt.

OK buddy, it's alright; no need to get angry.

Tom Cruise is completely insane/ retarded
Andrewwhyte replied to auburnguy's topic in Speakers Corner
The church 'held' western civilization together in the same way the DHS is holding American society together today; by creating dragons for them to slay. While the church was 'holding' our society together the muslims were pushing the boundaries of math and science. Their failure to continue forward was an accident of geography as much as anything (closer to Ghengis Kahn than us). No, I do not believe that holding our society static for one thousand years served any purpose whatsoever. -

Well I don't know about your particular corner, but this here part of flyover country counts. Not because of it's diversity or openness to foreign ideas so much; just the oil. -
Scotland: Attempted murders with guns triple in decade
Andrewwhyte replied to JohnRich's topic in Speakers Corner
Perhaps the law against murder isn't working. -
Tom Cruise is completely insane/ retarded
Andrewwhyte replied to auburnguy's topic in Speakers Corner
Are you referring to the evangelical protestant movement's attacks on teaching science in the classroom or the Church of Rome imprisoning Galileo for his "Devil Glass?" Perhaps you are referring to the 'progress' made during the inquisition or during the witch hunts or the English civil war. The Christian church has been an anchor to human progress since its inception. -
USPA - Jan Meyer Impeachment??
Andrewwhyte replied to Thanatos340's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
[uninformed conjecture]Is there a chance that the action against Jan is not because of what she has said, but because she is refusing to curtail herself now, endangering the association for more litigation?[/uninformed conjecture] -

Kind of like how Christians work to restrict access to family planning services and stem cell research for people who need them. -

I love it when the Christians tell us about the other religious kooks. -

Well Dang! If there are no traces of it in as religiously diverse a group as middle class Kansas then it must truly be out there. -
Calgary man denied courthouse entry for wearing kirpan
Andrewwhyte replied to Richards's topic in Speakers Corner
That is not the same thing as being exempt from the prohibition against weapons. The Supreme Court of Canada has already ruled that Sikhs are allowed to carry kirpans in other places where knives are generally forbidden (i.e. schools, workplaces). It will be interesting to see how this one plays out; I have no doubt that it will go to the SCOC. -

A big "Thanks" to the advertising mascot guy waving at me
Andrewwhyte replied to Twoply's topic in The Bonfire
He is probably thankful for that little respite each day from his dreary work-day. ",..plus that one guy honks and waves at me every time he goes by. So I got that going for me, which is good." -
Maybe some of them are just reckless endangerment bombers.

On the chart in question the maximum spread was just over 1 EU cent to the US dollar. I think that is considered a very volatile day.

Ahh, so a bob would get me 6 gil of good whiskey then?

.... and on the same theme (you not getting the inside British stuff) bob is slang for pounds (or is it Guinneys?) in some quarters of UK.

I am pretty sure you did make a mistake. At 6:00 PM on Friday in Sydney, New York has not yet opened for the day on Friday. Tokyo is the first market to open and close, not the last. The West Coast of North America is the furthest behind. Is there a Forex in LA?, Santiago? Mexico City? These would be the end of the week. None of this, however is germane to Bigway's problem. Bigway, your credit card company will bill you for the exchange rate that they are charged when your suppliers' and your bank's clearing house banks do the deal. This can be several days after the transaction, but in any case will not occur on a Sunday; it happens during business hours somewhere. What you could do is get a US dollar based credit card. Ask your bank if they offer it. That way you can purchase dollars to deposit onto the account when it works best for you.
