I've actually had many head hunters contact me through Monster....
-
You just took a 2 hr tour, now what are you going to do?
weid14 replied to kevin922's topic in The Bonfire
be prepared for a havy sales pitch... but other than that, have a ball -
whew, I was getting worried.
-
actaully since the individual in question is under 18, they can't legally think for themselves, and if they got hurt, then at 18 when they can magically think for themselves, they can or could sue.
-
ya mean your not going to be hanging out in tandem land in those short shorts this year?!?!??!?!?? bummer.
-
in response to: But seriously, when have you seen an RW group take LESS than 15 seconds to do their full climbout and exit count? all the time -- our 4way team is in and out of the door ususally in less than 10. now if you're setting up a 20 way... but then again that would be a plane full.
-
I *think* that you have to go change the mode on the Protrack also... give Alex a call, he and Seth are drinking (probably at the Village Idiot) in the city right about now.... he uses that program all the time.
-
is the protrack sitting in the holder? it's an infrared signal that needs to get read for you to get the connection, and I think you have to turn teh protrack on and set it to a unique function under "set" -- I think it says down load or upload. the directions are actually in the protrack manual.

The pilots I have typically flown with adjust the spot for the group and their climb out speed. Our team (unless we're doing a 10.5 pass) usually does get out a little short (sometimes to short, but we make it back). and I think that is a fairly common practice.
-
that's exactly the point, you will catch up to a RW group but they will be to the left or right, if an RW group goes after, they could drift over you -- that is a problem. UNLESS they give a much longer delay in teh door. So, to get everyone out (DZ's are a business after all) reasonably on 1 pass, you'd have to get out way short of the DZ if you were getting out first, so take your pick -- it's a walk either way.
-
It appears that the 4way intermediate class will be using the entire dive pool -- including memory (slot switchers&mirror). but they will be using fewer number of points (4-5 vs. 5-6). Just when you thought you were safe
-
hmmmm since you are replying to me, that implies that I have -- do you know something I don't?
-
super duper Ranch hand, all around excellent skydiver and nice guy (no pun). He manages Blue Sky Ranch in NY, cool DZ north of NYC. some excellent climbing there too
-
cut down, no way, have a little fun at your expense, well, maybe sometimes
-
in reply to: Ok.....I'm 5''7 and 120lbs. Long torso and wider shoulders (swimmer) with a damn small waist any pictures? (of the rig of course).
-
Then you can be Joey Jones who had 3 rigs lost on two different trips (2 on one, one on another).
-
SEE, ya shoulda got a Mirage!
-
in reply to: "I'm suprised that didn't work out - Jump Shack usually does a great job fitting odd sizes. They are who I recommend to unusually small or skinny women." Ummm, Bill, see, when I usually say something similar to this to a woman they get all upset because I have just inferred that they aren't (skinny or small) because of course the that they got from that place didn't fit... just a little coaching for you

negative, I've traveled with mine all over the place. It's all time and location dependant, I've never checked it (when not wanting to). do a search on it, there is much info. CLiff notes: gear bag, dont' make a big deal, be polite, and if asked questions be understanding, and explain it in a way that sounds like its important (cause it is!)
-
Bill isn't trying to slam you. I have never known him to do that to anyone. He is simply trying to save you or someone else's life. the 45 degree thing won't work. Do a search on exit separation, you'll find a wealth of info....
-
and how often is there no wind at jump altitude?
-
no, they wouldn't jump an inferior rig, BUT.... if they are comfortable with it, and they are getting a better sponsorship than another brand, that may sway the decision a bit. Javelin makes a decent rig, they really do, but in my opinion, the engineering is just that much [index finger and thump held a little ways apart] better for my money.
-
Sun Path are excellent marketers. They really are. Put your name out there, tell everyone you're number 1 and people will buy it - and they have. Believe me, those guys have a sweet deal. Relative workshop decided to pull out of sponsoring teams, they have their reasons, I'm sure. Sun Path has picked up the slack in a big way, mroe power to them. Hey, whatever works. "if it's free, it's for me" works for many people.
-
well, I'm only biased for the reasons I stated before. I'm not sponsored or anything, just like their engineering.

teh unisyn cause the way the system was designed you don't get the krinkle in the main lift webbing when you're not standing up straight, and you can flex at the chest and the cut away/reserve cables don't get exposed more than in their normal position. That, and the foam is higher quality as well as the end connectors for the cut away housings. All the flaps stay put, too. Plus I like the way the Mirage looks (but it's a secondary thing).
