It's all in the pack method, I jumped a Velocity and Xfire on alternate jumps all weekend (not a couple of jumps either), the Velocity opened, in some cases, slower than the Xfire. I'll give you the Xfire is more forgiving of sloppy packing, but the Velocity is a fine opening canopy also.

ANY good coach will make you fly better, Airspeed doesn't have the monopoly on that. (XL, Majik. PD Blue/Genesis all offer excellent coaching)... the nice thing about these guys is there are local, and you can do as much or as little as you want if you book outside of a camp

Another good source is to go to http://www.skyleague.com, thre is a team builing portion on that site, and you can get in touch with the director of that area's NSL. He or She may be able to hook you up with others.

I think there are 1 or two weekend warriors making noise.... It'll blow over, Bob's got like a 99 year lease on the place or something like that. I had to laugh at him sitting up on teh sundeck Saturday taking it all in. (that and the 60 some odd loads that were flown....) Hey Carrie... I'm so gland Andrea introduced us.... (she didn't -- I will have to yell at her next time I talk to her).

I'm sure Quade has a good answer, but I don't think that it is a straight linear relationship between size and perfomance (depending on what you're talking about I suppose ). In other words, a 10% size reduction would result in a higher performance gain than 10%.

For those of you that dont' know, there was a mini-world meet in DeLand over the weekend. Over 20 teams competed, including Airspeed Vertical and DeLand Majik .... Majik beat Vertical by 3 points in a 10 round meet!!! Nationals are certainly going to be interesting this year.

you forgot to add: when it's new cause new 0-3cfm material is much closer to Zpo, but as it gets older and more porus, the landings become less than spectacular.

The CYPRES is actaully a pretty hefty little bugger, it surprised me how heavy it is -- all battery weight. I'd say it's closer to a pound or more.

the movie....right now, it's about 1/2 done, cracks me up. reminds me of my early AFF days (movie came out when I went through) -- we watched it non stop.....

during a safety day a few years ago we had a trauma nurse and EMT give a talk on just this scenerio -- basically there is a two person method for removing helmets (developed for motorcycles) that they showed us, and we got to practice -- hurts your ears if you're the practice dummy after a while

you may be tightening the leg straps to tight. try keeping them snug, but not cranked down.

well, yeah, all the Velocities had an "x" in there, but here it is....VE-120-CPX-0001 C/P 0009 W/ 750 VECTRAN LINES MAIN, 21 CELL VELOCITY 120 SQ FT so I figured it was color pattern 0009.....

anyone know what the heck C/P 009 is in PD lingo for colors? I was looking at their stock canopy list and it isn't on the color code chart (I'm guessing it's their demo color scheme). Yes, I did call, and no, no one was there (it's after 5), and yes, I'm to impatient to wait till tomorrow.
