in response to: As for the actual traveling, I'll be going as low, under the radar as possible, but its better to be prepared then it is to have the rig taken away..... and calling the airline is definately one way to do that?
-
good thing I've got big feet to squash the bugs, and don't do intentional crew anymore....
-
yeah, well you can get all that in Fl also PLUS a plethora of DZ's

I got it a little over a year ago -- absolutely wonderful. they gave me a valium before the surgury, but it didnt' work though, I about ripped Elmo's head off (they gave you a stuffed animal to hold). The nurses ended up putting my feet up and I had to wait a little while before walking with a cold towel on my head. It wasn't so much the surgury itself it was the thought of them cutting my eyeball (how else do you get a flap?) and you can smell the flesh burning off. 35 seconds on each eye under the laser. I must say that I'm glad I did it, my vision is clearer than before, when I get tired my eyes feel that same dryness as I did with contacts but it's not to bad. my vison has gotten better over the year also. I know of at least 3 skydivers that jumped the day after. I know of 1 how somehow scratched his eye at night and had to have the flap re-positioned (THAT would have freaked me out)

That sucks, glad you got to play in the tunnel, that will definately help you out. SHuld have come up to DeLand or over to ZHills. next time... BTW, kick that a-hole in the balls, guys who do that sort of thing should get whats coming to them and it shouldn't be good!
-
maybe shes just a quiet unassuming type....? which isnt' so bad!

I don't think so, I think it is the person. We took a new grad on an 8 way (he didnt' speak much english either). He was pretty nervous, but on the ground he was smiling ear to ear afer landing. it was pretty cool, even got good beer!!! Did you ask her if she was OK?
-
she was probably scared to death that she was gong to screw up.... I know I would have been at that stage!!!
-
Then I would suggest two keepers if you're going to do it that way.... other wise your legs are in for a beating. different designs on the adapters, I agree with that.
-
yup, on all the containers I know about, you can tuck the excess into the leg pad, but (as I've done), if you don't put that keeper all the way down where the strap enters, that excess will come out and flap around (and potentially loosen the leg strap). So if the elastic is used to keep the excess on the chest strap down, and the friction adapter on the chest is the same design as the legs, why wouldn't it be the same on both?
-
It wasn't today was it?????? A flapping leg strap can come loose a lot easier than one held down with the elastic keepers.... you put that keeper by the adapter and those leg straps will beat you silly in freefall.
-
you wouldn't have been talking to Kruse would you?
-
I think any one of them... of course Monkey Claw heads out to one too (I think Richmond, but am not positive). I know Fruce makes the circuit at times also. Id stay away from WFFC and go to a smaller one - I've heard excellent things about Lost Prarie too.

DeLand has a good mix of both free and belly RW. skyvan, porter and otter. typiclly the 4way teams get the otter when there are a bunch training (there were 8 teams I believe training last Saturday --- ours included). The DeLand gang usualy puts together some pretty good belly jumps

florida is slow in the summer. You've just described cross keys in what you were looking for! but you already knew that. if you want to go travelin a boogie would be optimal... richmond, couch freaks, summerfest, WFFC, etc.
-
I believe the specs on Soar-Coat have the Zpo material with a slighly higher tear strength.... going from memory on that one though.
-
wow, damage teh firewall?! that plane will be out of commission for a while while they teer down the enginee, replace the prop and gear assemblies, etc. glad no one was hurt (bet it made one heck of a racket though)
-
**cough*cough*bull....*cough*cough* preplanned my rear..... LOL
-
yeah, I know, but it gives you the general idea of things...
-
hey wait a minute, what rules? Rules - we dont' need no stinking rules (especially when it involves a hottie and my buns!)

the true mantis position is actaully fairly unbalanced (easier to "tip over") for some it may work, but be careful there.
-
the more worked up about it you get the more rigid you become, the more rigid, it will get worse, it's a downward spiral. Ask if you can just go out and jump with your JM - smile, breathe deep and enjoy it, then go back up and do the turns, you'll be much more relaxed and perform better.... worked for me anyway.
-
Well, the festivities usually start in ernest around Memorial day, so you've got plenty of time to plan that road trip.

I doubt she'll listen though...
