and you can fit HOW many people in a C-182?
-
inocent and pure of heart, yeah, that's it, that's the ticket.... (nothing said about any side trips to NYC of course)
-
typically whatever the reserve used in the student gear is rated for. That said, I know there are a few DZ's that specialize in "special" cases, and can sometimes accomodate some larger people.
-
like others said, you will need a bracket, the canisters get very hot, and will melt nylon, so be careful even after landing. Also, if you habitually cross your legs under canopy, be very careful not to do that -- I turned a pair of sneakers green doing that.
-
mean by what? I'm innocent, as always
-
yes it can be -- that is why it is a good idea to talk to people that have put lots of jumps on that model canopy before you take it for a spin (no pun intended
-
the correct link for Majik is [url]www.delandmajik.com[\url]. I dont' think they've updated any dates yet this year, but you'll get the idea.
-
well, they do have a mind of their own, but as far as opening on heading, they do within a certain degree of arc, the thing is, when the canopy is inflating, it will go left, then right, then maybe left again, then a little right, and so on, if you try to correct it with risers or harness, you may put yourself in line twists cause the canopy will hunt for a heading as it inflates, and if you try to correct for it, you may be worse off, kind of like steering the wrong way on a slippery road.

the Riande motel - about 100 yards from the tunnel is like $35 pernight w/ teh skyventure discount. and you can get a shuttle over to International drive (tunnel is directly accross from wet and wild) if that helps. The Riande isn't exactly delux, but I didn't see any bugs when I was there
-
no way, you keep talking about how good you are with swooping that 190 thang, now let's see
-
all right Clay, you get 3 of your friends togther, and I'll get three of my friends together, let's go do some special olympics, loser buys all the beer. (full 4 way dive pool, too, plus maybe a swoop comp thrown in for fun?)
-
huh, don't know whats going on with it, it was working a couple of weeks ago. I'll have to ask Doug....
-
I will TOTALLY leave that one alone!!!!
-
and what were you doing there?
-
yeah, I set my protrack off doing spirals under the velocity I'm jumping (loaded at like 1.85 or so)
-
FWIW, majik will go to the tunnel anytime (within reason) with anyone - no need to wait for a scheudled camp, and you will get the benefit of a taylored training to your specific desires, plus they have mopre tunnel time than most of the people that work there!

in reply too: "Ellipticals will take on a life of their own on opening. You'll learn to "steer" the opening as the cells inflate. In only two weeks with the Cobalt I was so habituated to immediately reaching back to grab the rear risers and steer the opening " itr depends on teh canopy and loading, some if you try to steer on opening you will over compensate and put yourself in line twists. teh Velocity, for example, wants to be left alone on deployment, it naturally hunts for a heading while it opens, trying to compensate can actaully get you into more issues (I listened to that advice, another I know didn't, he had a line twist cut away) YMMV of course
-
if you're going to go to altitude (pull high), try picking a heading on the horizon and do 360's and 720's trying to stop on that same heading.
-
try jumping a round....
-
the 45 degree angle thing doesn't always work -- what angle of attack the plane is on, and you neck calibration has much variability.
-
do a search on the topic, much info. basically put it in a gear bag, dont' brag, and act normal. you'll get right on.
-
why not? if you have good canopy control skills you will be able to sand a cross winder up. If you jump at Eloy and want to land in the main area, you're more than likely going to have to land it cross wind.
-
I was seeing if anyone else would venture a guess, I thought about doing a poll, but was to lazy
-
not sure about the appetite thing (no comments anyway), but the women of cross keys will be right up your alley!

so with a 90 knot IAS, and 30 knot uppers, you leave how long between groups? anyone, anyone, beuller??
